An update to my UNVR-NAS project, where im working to convert a Unifi UNVR-Pro into an OpenMediaVault NAS appliance. Note the work is still in alpha stages.

I wish I had your skill so I could do one for unraid or truenas.
i was like you dont know anything and started with a external drive using omv 5. Now i have 2 raid 1 8tb drive running truenas now. I will need to upgrade soon 😂😂. Try it and see ;)

Are you testing drives larger than 8tb? I see that is the max with the original setup
I might be missing context but I’m running 10 TB drives in my UNVR (not NAS converted) without issue.
as someone with a UNVR USB storage still is there a way to just install straight up linux on the flash drive and then boot from it?
Also ive gotten docker installed but its having issue running because of from what i can tell network issue and missing stuff its expecting.
docker won't work due to missing kernel modules, and Unifi seems to not be providing GPL source to those who request it.
Can I use with the 4-bay unvr?
Not yet, but I am working on adding support for the 1U UNVR.

What is a NAS?
Network attached storage. Basically, it is a connected hard drive enclosure that you can use to transfer files between computers on the same network.
