  • The Dreadnought class submarine will be the Royal Navy’s biggest, most powerful and most technically advanced submarines when they begin to enter service from the early 2030s and will play a pivotal role in the nation’s defence and security for decades to come. Work on the first two boats in the class is well underway at the Company’s shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, with £2.5 billion worth of contracts have already been placed with suppliers across the UK.

European nuclear deterrence (in this case France & the U.K.) has always been important given the threat from, in the past the Soviet Union & now Russia. There has always been a whispering within the NATO alliance that America cannot be depended upon to come to Europe’s defense in the event of an invasion from Russia. The current U.S. President/Vice President is indeed such the case. That’s why Russia is in Ukraine. Teddy Roosevelt coined the phrase: Speak softly but carry a big stick. So true.
