Sorry to hear about your loss Athena. My condoleance. Lost my mother last year and my dad two years ago. Still can't imagine a live whitout them. But live goes on. Remember the good things and let your father and brother always walk with you. Greets from Belgium.

Anthea, I was going to write something vaguely humorous about your lovely video, but noticed everyone else’s comments, so looked further. I’m so desperately sorry for your loss. I recently lost both my father and sister, not together but with overlapping grief and desperately tragic circumstances. You have my deepest condolences and respect for picking yourself up and doing something positive. Any other words are superfluous, take care.

Thank you, this is a lovely comment. I'm so sorry to hear about your father and sister. Death is such a horrible thing. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that one minute someone can be so full of life, and the next gone. I will keep doing what I love to get by and I hope you will too xx

You created a beautiful video, a work of art in my opinion.
“ Van de schoonheid en de troost" or: "Of beauty and solace” was the title of a Dutch TV series some years ago. In every episode the presenter had an artist, musician, writer, scientist, philosophers or similar as guest and explored like what makes life worthwhile. And what gives comfort in times of sorrow...
Beauty - in art, in nature, in creating your own art, can be very satisfying and comforting in my experience. Your video does that to me and I hope that this trip and the art you created does that to you aswell. So I want to encourage you to keep the videos coming !

So both Norwegian music (which I didn't realise at first 🙂) and a Norwegian t-shirt on Harvey. Lovely video. And you were lucky to see Bergen in the sunshine. It rains a lot there.

Beautiful video. I've been binge watching tons of videos on heated Right vs. Left politics, climate change, Bush fires in Queensland, New South Wales etc., so your videos are a wonderful respite from all of the strife.

I have just stumbled across your channel here on UA-cam and your videos are great. I wanted to watch this one as we’re planning a trip to Norway next year and will be traveling from Oslo to Bergen once we get over jet lag flying from Oz. I then started to read the description and my heart goes out to you Athena for your loss of your brother and father. I can see your brother in you, you were so alike, so a part of him will always be with you and your dad it seems led you to enjoy the great outdoors as did my parents, they took me up Skiddaw when I was six months, I lost my mum when I was 21 and there’s not a day goes by when I don’t think of her she will always be there to guide me on life’s winding road. I lost my father too but at least he got to meet his grandchildren. The sudden loss of your loved ones is horrible it goes without saying, take time to come to terms with it and enjoy the moments you think of them whilst out on the fells.
    Regards Carl

Thank you for your message, I really appreciate your kind words. I think of my dad and brother every single day also and know I will for the rest of my life. I just have to learn to live with the grief and with their spirits instead. Let me know if you need any Norway recommendations :)

Simply stunning video, breathtaking landscape, I would be grateful if you could provide the details of the lake, about 7minutes 40 seconds into your video. I share your pain, unfortunately lost my father suddenly this year and coming to terms with situation. I have spent many hours walking and being outdoors as this is where i feel closest to him, alone with my thoughts. I found the words contained with your March blog very moving, thank you for sharing your written work and videos.

Thank you Mark. I'm so sorry to hear about your father. It's good that you've been getting outside to feel closer to him though. We were on the banks of Tinnsja lake just outside Rjukan. We found a pull in and wandered down the forest to the shores. It was 5 minutes from our car and the road, but a beautiful and secluded spot!

beautiful videos, thankyou. Scotland (highlands) or Norway. I See so many similarities. What do you prefer Athena? sending warm hugs via the radiowaves x

    • @RambleFamily

Oooh tricky question... I'm tempted to say the Scottish Highlands because it is closer to home, and I am very much a home bird. Norway really is beautiful though and I have loved travelling here a few times over the last couple of years.

    •  4 роки тому

@@RambleFamily Can't have gone much around Norway then, also, you can't have visited in summer. The variety in Norway is enormous compared to Scotland, also the Scottish highlands. No offense but... In southern Norway we have soooo many special places it's almost endless. I'm talking places most tourists never see. Norway has much more than fjords and mountains, we have deep forests, nice seaside locations and towns, some valley places that feels like a "northern Shangri-La" sometimes.
I find it very strange that so many tourists either visit in the winter, or outside the late spring and summer season, Norway is 100 times more beautiful in late spring and summer.
