As a then law student in the west doing constitutional law case studies, I stumbled on the then JJ Rawlings desire to turn Ghana back to constitunal rule in the earlly 1990s. True to his vision, he went to the citizens to seek their mandate through a constituent assembly to draft a constitution for Ghana's 4th republic. So I was a keen follower, although not a Ghanaian but for academic purpose. I learnt in the process then that the NPP elite in society boycotted the constituent assembly that was tasked to draft the constitution. Wonder, therefore, how the unpatriotic elite came up with the name NPP , the resonance of which drills down to sheer hypocrisy you will see decades down the line. The patriotic stalwart of society went ahead to draft the constitution which was subsequently accepted by Ghanaians. Now You can tell the dubious irony here. The very treasonous elite that morphed into some "patriotic" party will later be the ones to corruptibly exploit same constitution to derail the foundational ideals of democracy. Are they not ashamed by their subtle stranglehold on the very democratic institutions of Ghana to willy nilly deny Ghanaians the right to even "breathe"??? The constitution was written in laymen language, so it doesn't take a judge, or even a lawyer to subvert its meaning using political hatchery and nutjobs. So article 97, as all others, of your constitution is a classic level 100 constitutional law student's playbook, thus when you hear chaotic protagonists calling themselves professors and doctors (of what?) and even foolish apolitical judges doing such injustices to a simple constitutional reasoning, it makes one laugh. Shame on you. But in a country where spots for law studies are sometimes defined not by meritocracy but political foot soldiering, there is no wonder they have bad lawyers and bribe-prone judges that are intellectually bankrupt. I salute your speaker Bagbin and especially Prof Abotsi and Mahama Ayariga for their principled legal reasonings that sound fantastic for law students. I also applaud Dr Tony Aidoo when I listened to hisvtake on ghana radio today. But I dare say that your CJ is partisan, unintelligent, unqualified, not smart, has low IQ and probably was in the lower rungs of her graduating class. She has done damage to Ghana.
Ghanaians needs to find all the tapes of those days and play on national television so people can understand the damage NPP has done and willing to do more.,
I love that, we must resist the oppressors rule against the constitution... ndc and Ghanaians will support the constitution and the speaker must stand by his ruling ... Bought judiciary and a thank you favor won't hold...
Yes 👍 👏👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰loving you all from the USA Democracy is here to stay in our beautiful country of Ghana. Sack the rouge regime of Akufo Addo and his thugs
The speaker should now tell us those 4 constituencies are orphans and don’t have reps in parliament from now till January 7 and for that reason will be disadvantaged for the next four months.
This is the reward of voters when money buys your vote. The richer takes it all to be an MP. Are these MPs or pupils. Wait till the economy shuts down we all will feel the pain.
You guys can enjoy as can because this is year of both of you parties are getting out from power we show you guys this year … vote cheddar’ooo … did you see what this guys doing hmmmm!
NPP and its followers are clowns for real.Fools ,who were you deceiving?Y'all played dirty internal politics in your primaries and you see the outcome?Shamelessly claiming now independent candidates as part of you is shambolic to say the least😂.Nkoso intellectuals😂😂
This is how our elected representatives are spending time in parliament amid burning national issues like galamsey. In some 10 weeks' time, they will receive their cheques for Ex Gracia. Have we been wasting our time at the pooling centres?😊
Instead of developing real and credible policies to advance Ghana after they win elections determined by the citizens of Ghana, the NDC would rather use unconventional methods to gain majority in parliament with less than 2 months to the general elections. The NDC wants to repeal the e-levy without offering a replacement to the loss of revenue to the Ghana government. The NDC wants to stop free SHS because they do not believe in education, which is apparent from many of their actions. Without a doubt this NDC group is clueless.
This what Sam George knows how to do best , being at the frontline of every drama to show off yet he won’t serve his constituency knowing they will automatically vote for him at ningo prapram. Politics is cheap.
If the NDC think we are voting them to continue the old status quo then they better think again! We will hold them so accountable they won't have a chance to loosen their dross strings to steal us and grow chubby! Ya y3 wild tis3 Nkranii ah w'ay3 "wide!"😅😅😅
