Can't wait to see how Heidi reacts to this!! Lol! I love plants too. We have two garden beds 24'x40' and it does save us a lot of money. But it takes WORK to make it happen. Whew!!
THIS IS MY MOM! She already had my dad build garden boxed with drip irrigation this year. She has also killed multiple snake plants and many others. She loves bees but will freak out if she sees one. She know the owner of the plant nursery so she always spends a crazy amount on them.
We only have 1 plant that has a name. Palmala, she's a ponytail palm. She's been with us longer than we've been married, so 6 years. I started looking to rehome her when we moved cross country, but it broke my heart so we moved her in the van with the cats. Maybe she should be in our stick figure family.
@@emilysouther4614 yeah I did that and sadly the new home owners killed my plants 🪴 😢 I was moving from Maryland to NYC into a smaller apartment and didn't have a choice it didn't fit in the van either with our stuff. It gave me an excuse to get new ones but was still heartbroken for the love and care I have those plants.
I just was asked by my beautiful wife to build raised beds, and I think I have literally heard each word of this sketch come out of my wife's mouth at some point.
SUSAN!!! I feel ya. I've lost a lot of Susan's. I also feel attacked by the garden "summer project". My husband just asked why I saved 2 egg cartons. 🤣🤣🤣 Hello for seed starters!
You need to look into winter sowing in milk jugs! Basically it is starting seeds outside in a "mini greenhouse" so way easier than having to get grow lights for indoors. There's lots of helpful Facebook groups you can join!
The partial shade!!! 💀. Hail is legit a real thing here, and don't bother planting anything in the ground before June, cause we're still due for our May blizzard. The loss of Susan... I felt that in my SOUL! Condolences 🙏🏻 🤣 please do more plant videos, this is AMAZING. Even tho you totally called me out 😆
I had to show my husband. Especially the part about having him build all the things! "I'm going to be an urban farmer!" "Babe, could you build me some raised beds?" "Babe, could you install drip irrigation?" "Babe, babe, babe..." Yeah, that's me... Haha
I showed my significant other, but only because that's how he reacts when one of his plants die. I was asking him about this particular cactus that put out a beautiful bloom (his whole thing is cactus) and he kept asking, "was it the ornothopsis?" "Was it the preguntia?" (IDK if I'm getting names right, lol.) Finally we found the picture online, and he'd blocked the memory of that particular cactus, losing it was just too painful. So yeah, I just opened that wound up again☹️ I felt terrible. His whole demeanor changed for the rest of the day.
LMAO.....Taylor these are the best videos on your channel!!!! I LOVE when you play a woman....kinda spot on in an over compensating sort of way that I love!!! Yes, more please!
Actually burst out laughing. So very relatable-I haven’t had any indoor plants since I have had kids :/ I want to garden so much, but again-kids. Also time, energy and money…but it’s easier to blame it on kids, 😂!
Hahaha this! My kids are older now so I can technically go ahead and be a big gardener but it’s still time, energy and money. But I’m still blaming my kids 😂
Seriously though! The depression when a garden gets ruined is so real! A couple years ago my dog had gotten into my garden and dug up all of my seedlings and I sat in my garden and cried for about 30 minutes!
Last year I bought some starts and planted them. The raccoons came that night and literally pulled up only the things I had planted. They just pulled them for the fun of it. Left them there, with a pile of poop next to each one. ( how I knew it was racoons)
I have a friend who names all her plants and told me a few months ago one was named after me. I was both disturbed and honored. I will admit that I talk to my grass and my flowers (encouraging them to grow and be beautiful), but I draw the line at naming my plants 😜
Yup, me here in about a couple weeks. Soon as the weather decides if it’s truly spring or not! Last year I had one flower bed and had great success with that so now I’m going BIG this summer. So this made me laugh. CANT WAIT
Was literally crying and stressed and this just made my day you cant cry and laugh at the same time lol well you can but you know what I mean. I love the commitment
This is the best !!!😂 I literly went out and bought a snake plant and a cactus because I was so tired of killing everything 😂😂😂 I'm dead. And yet, iv managed to already drop the cactus twice now lmao
I can totally relate. I have also managed to kill those plants of which the gardener had said "This survives everybody." Once an aloe vera plant survived me, but it grew into such an ugly shape - was practically growing into the direction of the floor and continue there......so I threw it out.
Heidi is going to love watching this lol! Grew up making fun of my mom and dad’s inability to keep plants alive. My dad went all out to plant a garden, and left me in charge of it when he was working out of town. I was only 17, but managed to get a tiny watermelon and some tomatoes before the evil rabbit got through all the fencing and destroyed it. Ruined any ambition I might have had to grow things as an adult.
"That one summer....." I was super bored and grew tomatoes, corn, giant sunflowers, herbs, carrots, oranges...the works. Then we had a major storm that took out half of them, literally flattening all my corn stalks which immediately became infested with parasitic bugs, and the other half was taken out by squirrels who decided my yard was their new feeding ground. We do NOT talk about gardening anymore.
Haha I feel you.. every year I want a garden so bad but can’t work up the courage. So much work for unpredictable and highly risky results. Gonna try again this year though.
@@zaram131 My advice is to start small and indoors with like an herb garden in your window sill. Not too much can go wrong there unless you over or under water. For outdoors, definitely research what ACTUALLY grows well in your area so you don't waste your time, and start small with like 2 or 3 things you know you can manage rather than go full ambition like I did because it was intense to keep everything alive especially in the thick of the summer heat!
@@Savethelepodopteraa I can and do grow things indoors, but the yard vermin are so relentless, we can't grow a thing outside without them eating it. We've tried all types of traps, fencing, water alarms...nothing works so I have given it up out there.

Ahahahaaa if I didn't have to move I'd be buying more plants. Plants = happiness. Snake plant scene is relatable.....I couldn't keep my indoor plants alive then I had this snake plant that just did awesome for a few years until it went kaput one day when I had it on my patio and it may have gotten too cold...it felt like a tragedy haha....I'm much better with indoor plants now however...most of them don't die, yay! And I had my first orchid bloom on it's own this spring! You need a good window for light....and watch the heater in winter it can dry them out faster.
You are the funniest when you do videos like this imitating your wife. Your themes have been so honest and believable. You had me rolling on this one! Well done!💪👍
Thank you for this one. The raised bed scene made me realize the long honey do list I give out for the yard isn't just a "me" thing, and not due to me being disabled. (I don't know if less guilt about the honey do list is what you were going for, but...)
Omgosh! Totally relate...yep.. started with flowers...then perennial flowering bushes...THEN...FOOD...glorious tomatoes, my own herbs, now maybe chickens 🐔 ?
😂😂 Youve been peeking in my windows Dude! My daughter ran to Lowes for me. She came home with my first grandchild! A poor shriveled cactus she saw pushed on a shelf with a bunch of packages. No sun. I convinced her the small round lump on his head was meant to be there, that he was growing. I blame too much pimple popping videos for her wanting to do surgery on him. I told her to put him in the kitchen window and leave him alone. When she heard it rained in AZ we would drizzle some water on his dirt. She named him Harry after her no good dad. Surprisingly hes doing awesome. Its been 3+ years. For Christmas last year her boss gave her a different kind of cactus. So now he has a girlfriend.

Try involving the kiddos with it!! Family hobby. Educational and fun and satisfying!
But it IS the kids that take the time, energy and money! I just say we're focusing on growing humans right now...what could be more important?
Kids...they also work as a fantastic excuse for when you're not in the mood. You can't always have a headache, but the kids never leave
You should include those freak snowstorms that wreck Colorado gardens in May.🤣🤷♀️
Need a Heidi reaction video 😂😂😂
