  • While Wilko is still searching for a buyer, it's outlook is becoming increasingly bleak. Thank you to Lisa for her passionate and nuanced response. In our interview we spoke about Wilko itself and the broader conflict between in-store and online shopping.
'Wilko has this week become the latest high-street retailer to collapse into administration. What would your response be to this news?'

I'll miss Wilko too if it goes. Covid and poor summer hasn't helped, and management made some classic mistakes. But for the high street itself car parking charges must be a large factor, the cost of delivery online is cheaper than an hours parking in many places! Local councils have got a lot to answer for. Thanks again for a great interview of ordinary people.

Councils are nothing more than evil communist scum. No council tax can ever be legally enforced, but they don't tell you this do they.

Hello again, thanks for the kind words as always. With the benefit of hindsight you'd have to say that cases like Wilko's are pretty understandable, for all of the reasons you listed here. It probably shouldn't surprise us to see news stories like this anymore...

they borrowed at low rates, when the rates rose their margin disappeared. all they were really doing was stealing a fake lending rate. thats why all these corporations are failing.

As are the native British people and their culture, history, traditions and ethnicity.

Actually there is more of them, their culture, beliefs, traditions than there was in the past or ever before.
Why must you lie and play with everyone's feelings? Being a patriot is a very beautiful thing, however most people today corrupt it and use it to make others hate. Hate hate hate, that is all you want to do, and I can't help but be sorry for you.
