I had the pleasure of meeting both Jack & Ethan at that pizza restaurant, just after they had filmed. Really nice lads & down to earth. Well done guys!
Jack’s clever humour and Ethan’s love for the world. I’m jealous! I’d love to meet them and talk for a minute or two. Watching them since “2 guys 1 car”
13:26 I keep forgetting that Jack and Ethan used to present a car channel and not a travel show. Love the randomness and quick witts of them here though a lot
I like the angle you guys decided to go with the channel. Super scrimping travellers/adventurers. Perfect when things are expensive. You guys are like the the uk money saving expert Martin Lewis lol Thanks for your service. Keep the vids coming 😀😀
A few years ago a Ryanair flight to Northern Ireland was supposed to land at City of Derry (Eglinton) Airport, but landed at the nearby Ballykelly Barracks / Shackleton Airfield by mistake. After that we called them Ryanwhere.
They must have taken a page from the Corrigan playbook. In 1938 he was supposed to fly from Brooklyn, New York, USA to Long Beach, California, USA. But he accidentally took a wrong turn when he started and 28 hours later he landed on an airfield near Dublin, Ireland. For the rest of his life, he claimed that it was a navigational error and that he didn't do it on purpose.
@@cogboy302 He claimed it was dark and he didn't see it. He was obviously BSing, he had tried for years to get permission for a trans-atlantic-flight and had also modified his plane to be able to do the flight (a non-modified plane wouldn't have had enough fuel for a 28 hour trip). He didn't get permission, though, so by claiming that he flew the wrong way (which lead to his nickname, "Wrong Way" Corrigan), he avoided being reprimended worse than he was (his pilot's license was basically suspended for the time it took him to get his plane back to the US by ship, for an ammount of time where he wouldn't have been able to fly anyways). It's quite an interesting story, Hollywood even made a movie about him, where he played himself.
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo, good on him. The old adage, 'It's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission.' With the Ryanair (actually an EirJet plane subcontracted to Ryanair) flight, the pilot had not been to Derry before and did not know there was a military airfield nearby. Plus both airstrips are in line, so the flight crew thought there was a problem with the onboard navigation system as they could see a landing strip, but the navigation system was telling them they weren't at their destination.
4:34 it's messed up because of the same reason why the colosseum is missing a piece: soft ground. they built them (and other buildings) on soft ground and that's the result. you can actually see that the top part of the tower is at a slightly smaller angle because it was already leaning during construction. they are currently trying to stop the leaning as it's actively falling down. also, next time don't go to touristy places. try finding some local restaurants
I was sceptical about the direction of this channel but I can honestly say it's brilliant! Love the banter you guys have. These little travel episodes are so good! Kudos guys!
2:20 that open area in the background is getting my instincts going: "Reminds me of Pisa". I could be wrong as it's a few years since my last visit to that city. Pizza in Pisa would be quite poetic...
There is a camping sites in easy walking distance to the tower (about 7-10 min with little kids) and there are cabins with 2 bedrooms and own bathroom plus a pool and we paid 50 Euros for the four of us per night.
Only discovered you pair have your own channel last night and I've just finished bingewatching all of your videos this afternoon. Favourite channel on here already
This is quickly becoming my favourite channel. I was an occasional viewer of Car Throttle and their personality just comes out way more and way better in this format.
It’s becoming a habit: starting an All the gear video, and after barely a minute realizing it’s gonna be a banger and giving it a thumbs up straight away. Haven’t been wrong yet!
I moved from the UK to NZ, thing that blew my mind was Domino's pizzas in NZ were £2.50 for what would be £18 in the UK. Yet food in the supermarket is double here
Brilliant! Bloody howling! Having just returned from a week all inclusive in Italy, I can confirm... There's nothing to do but eat Pizza and Ice Cream, drink coffee, and sleep... and the look of Ethan's face with that pastry is pure joy... Keep it up lads 😀
The central square in Pisa is very pretty but there is nothing else in that town at all. I am surprised how close the airport is to the centre, though.
Love Italy. Last year we visited Pisa. Before that in 2008 took an E39 M5 down there, met wife and child at airport. So I could enjoy the drive down, child puked 5 minutes into the journey from airport. Some where out there is a musty smelling silver E39 M5. The greatest saloon ever made....had a further 4 after puke gate...
I challenge you both to drive to Northern Ireland and do the steps down and back up from Kinbane castle! Be a wicked video, some great driving roads and scenery!
More of this please!! Literally the sort of thing you can do at the weekend with your mate for the same price as a Pappy Johnsons, but instead of an average pizza and shit tv you get to explore the world and eat authentic Italian food. Even when you factor in the return flights, a £20 difference between exploring the world and eating authentic food, and ordering a Poppy J's is insane.
This channel is absolutely amazing. I love it. Wanna see more with Alex and the gang though. I'm thinking "Extreme budget car/travel challenge". Between you you'll have a brilliant challenge
You can run and run with this one! Eg, can you go to Greece for less than an expensive kebab shop…. Can you go to France and get a 3 course meal for less than a 3 course meal in Café Rouge! Etc etc
I’m pleased to see higher fences at the top, when I went up there 20 years ago there was only the lower one, I was very cautious when looking over the side
Hey guys, this is one of your viewers from the United States in Tennessee. Loved the pictures or video of the leaning tower of Pisa as well as some of the other adventures. She had love the channel.
Spend couple of nights in Pisa last October, the flights were cheap and found cheap room as well. Mostly went there to visit the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera. Liked walking around in Pisa as well though.
The funguy joke was old but good it made me chuckley, wow that pizza might of been hot mate but the cheese pull was amazing, and you two make the best videos and I can't wait till you put your next one out it seems to take so long peace out and stay safe to both of you🎉😊
I enjoyed the "Pizza tree documentary!" LMAO It was good to see you both relax and enjoy yourself, and to have a break from racing the clock. Definitely a win to fly to Italy for cheaper pizza. Good travel advice. Could you fit a pizza oven in the van and make pizzas in it?
Fun fact: The leaning church tower of Bad Frankenhausen in Germany is actually leaning more than the Tower of Pisa at 4.93° compared to 3.97°, while also being a tiny bit higher.
Win-win-win! You guys are doing wonders for the last-minute trip industry. It’s certainly got me thinking: “Where can I go for just 1 night that’s 1) about $200 USD all in and 2) maybe, somewhat, possibly interesting?” From Chicago there are many options. But where can I go that I can walk from the destination airport to the city center?
Not only was this a roaring success, but the pizza in Italy looked freshly made, the ingredients were probably fresh and a whole lot more quality than a greasy horrible probably frozen domino’s rubbish.
Its nice that you guys went to this monument. Btw Jack and Ethan as an FYI, when the tower was constructed, it did stand straight but started to lean to one side. They can fix it but because it brings a lot of tourists and revenue for Italy, they have decided to not fix it. The reason for it leaning is because of differential settlement of the ground that it was built on. All houses and buildings do sink slightly into the ground (or have foundational settlement) after they are constructed but the sinking would normally be even so you wont notice it. As for the Leaning Tower, the structure sank unevenly (or had differential settlement) which is why it is leaning. I know its a boring explanation but thats why it is happening.
Jack explained that's not true in the video 😂 you can tell it was never built straight because it curves rather than being straight but leaning. It started leaning whilst they were building it.
I live on the west coast of the US. It costs way, way more for me to fly from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA (About 300km I think) than it cost you to fly from UK to Pisa. I think if I lived over there, I'd just never be at home.
Sometimes I feel sorry for you guys on these trips but despite hardships of rain and exhaustion, there’s nothing better than vacations of endless hiking or biking with breaks for pastries and ice cream, this is bliss to me.
I was there last year and had to laugh that the flag at the top of the building is plum yet the building is off plum. Still love Italy. Great video again lads. 😊
If you guys ever go to Gothenburg, you need to go to Cafe Husaren in Haga. They have a huge, delicious pasty about a foot in diameter! Like to see Ethan try to finish one of them!! 😂

Never thought I’d relate to a video as much as this. Me and a few mates flew to Italy for £5 each and had a pizza to then come home a few short hours later. It cost us €12 each for our pizzas. Got to see and amazing little town and had some great pizza for less than the cost of a takeaway pizza
As a 43 year old canadian father of two kids.. been working for 20 years for the same company.. and never had that much money to travel.. I FRICKING LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
For a second i thought a flight cheaper then an italian pizza when pizza at least here in north italy are, always or almost, under 10 euro. Got me an heart attack lol

Haha - those poses in front of people pushing the tower 😂😂
Yeah that's genius, a lot more creative

Way better then generic poses lol

I'm loving this scooter review channel you guys have started, going all over the world just to see more scooters.
Future episode: Scooter museum?
Have family in Pisa, the local joke is that the tower *will* fall down if there's ever a moment when a tourist isn't pretending to hold it up.
That’s a good one 😂
I laughed so hard with jack lining him self up with the tourists! Absolutely brilliant!!!!
Loved that - especially Jack posing to match the posing tourists 🤣
