    I have the same gun and find that is very hard to load the clip as well. I left the clip loaded for about a week and it really made a huge difference. I have had this gun for about 4 years now and have had no issues whatsoever. It runs like a boss.

    I have a Rock Island chambered in 10 mm. It’s a very nice activity and reliable pistol. In a side note. Every 1911 in any caliber I own , the first thing I do is replace the magazines with Wilson Combat magazines. They solve 99% of any reliability problems!

      @TheWalkWithAl  Рік тому +2

      I heard that my friend I’ve got Wilson combat for a lot of my 1911. You just can’t beat them usually that stopped all feeding problems. I appreciate you watching my friend. You take care and have a great weekend.👍👍👍👍

    My RIA 1911 in 9 mm comes with a 9 round mag. You may be trying to get 1 extra round in that mag. That would explain why it is difficult to load that 10th round.

      I heard that my friend. This one does the 10 round. But I think you’re right it’s only nine round capacity. Magazine. Thanks for the info on that. I want to thank you for watching. Take care and have a great weekend.👍👍👍👍

      Thank you i appreciate that my friend. The 1911 is my every day carry it a little bit heavy and hard to conceal but it’s something I’ve got used to And it’s a design that’s been proven since 1909 when the first prototype come out. And was widely used by the military, law-enforcement, and security worldwide I want to thank you for sharing your first handgun i thank you’re going on like the 1911. I know it one of my favorite. I think you for watching my friend. You take care and have a wonderful weekend.👍👍👍👍👍🙏

    I got one last year, dripping in 10w-30. The first full sized 1911 I ever touched, and I had to learn to fully dissamble and clean before I could even shoot it.
    I put the same Hogue grips on it as well with a curved Mainspring Housing. I found I didn't like the sharp edges on the grip safety. So I swapped in a Wilson Combat beavertail. But to do that I had to swap out that long spur hammer. Since I swapped the hammer I also swapped the sear. Great trigger with insanely short reset. Mecgar mags are the best. RIA OEM mags nosedive too much. Swapped the rear sight for a plate and added a Crimson Trace red dot. Fun plinking spent shotgun shells! That slide release is rather badass!

      That’s awesome. I’ve never had an issue with the one I have. And we’ll run about anything I put through it. But I have also done a little upgrade to the one I have. I have several 1911 but for the money. These are pretty decent little pistols. I just don’t like you can beat them. That’s awesome. I’ve always liked the Rock Island 1911. And my every day carry is a 45 ACP. 1911. It’s a little bit heavy and hard to conceal. But it’s something I’ve gotten used to. I want to thank you for watching my friend. You take care and have a most wonderful day.👍👍👍👍👍

      I heard that my friend. This is also one of my favorite 9 mm. Every day carry is a 19 11 chambered in 45 ACP. It’s a little bit heavy and a little hard to conceal but it’s what I’ve gotten you to. And I can get in a lot of practice for a lot less money with the 9 mm. And from time to time I will carry this 9 mm. Because fully loaded there is a lot of different in the weight between the 45 ACP. And the 9 mm. In my opinion, Rock Island has got these down to a science. I think you for watching my friend. You take care and have a most wonderful day.👍👍👍👍👍

    Just purchased this pistol in 9mm. The manual says to give it 500 Ed’s to break in. I had a jam or two during the first 300 rds. After that…. Never had a malfunction and the mag spring seems to loosen up a bit. The loading of the mags seems much easier. Great shooting 1911!!

      That’s awesome. Over the last 15 to 20 years I’ve shot a lot of different pistols and 1911 style pistols. And you will have a few issues or feeding problems the first few hundred rounds. That’s pretty common. But I have found them to be accurate and reliable. For the most. I really appreciate you watching my friend You take care and have a most wonderful night.👍👍👍👍

    I give you credit Al ... you need to be a Hercules type guy to load those mags. I really like the accuracy ... but that jam would worry me some ... especially if it shows up again. Do continue to feature this pistol, so that we can see if those mags ease up, and if the gun functions cleanly. Thanks for a fun video.

But I’m gonna get me a Wilson combat magazine and I don’t think they’ll be any more issues but who knows so I’m gonna run a lot more rounds through it. Because that one thing I don’t like is a jam. Well, the initial design for what would become the 1911 started out chambered in .38 ACP, so 9mm is just coming home, it seems.
