    Hi Michelle, love to watch your 2023 knits! You are doing so well, I would say you are an advanced and mindfull knitter. It looks beautiful, all of them. Also your first time colorwork looks amazing, very well done! 🌷👍 Corrie (Netherlands)

    Awesome video! Thanks. I enjoyed that. One tip I have for fitting for women with curvier busts and small frames is to measure the high bust (around chest just under armpits) rather than the full bust. This will ensure that the sweater fits shoulders, under armpits etc. whereas the traditional full bust measurement can often leave the sweater too oversized in other parts of the body. This actually applies to sewing as well. This tip is in most sewing and knitting modification classes and is a gem! I thought I’d share since you mentioned that the underarms didn’t fit the way you wanted and because you knit for others. It was a game changer for me personally. Tuck it away in your knowledge bank for future consideration. Cheers

      Thank you for the tip! I never thought about that before, but logically it makes a lot of sense. While I love a nice baggy oversized sweater, there are times I want a little more tailoring (like for work). I’ve been a little afraid of attempting patterns with less positive ease in case I end up with something that’s much too small, but I’ll try this tip next time

    Your voice is so soothing! I love listening to you while i knit. You were so adventurous knitting all those sweaters while pregnant! I want to make sweaters this year, never have. I have pattern and yarn for one for me and one for my husband. He actually liked a pattern on ravelry! I've made lots of socks, hats, scarves, a poncho, etc., but no sweaters
    ! Thanks for talking about your experiences with yarns, too!

      Thank you, I’m so happy it was useful! If you can knit socks and hats, you can knit sweaters, no question. I’m actually intimidated by socks because of the tiny needles and really needing to get the sizing to be precise. So you’re way ahead of me there!

    Glad I found your channel. You are a natural at podcasting - so interesting to listen to. And, thanks for sharing an impressive number of lovely sweaters knit in 2023 including great feedback on yarn and patterns used. Have to be honest in saying that I don’t often knit for others as I find it stressful trying to achieve a good fit for someone else and those who are knit-worthy live far from me making trying on and fitting difficult but I have a learned a lot when I have done this. Love that you have knit and gifted sweaters and accessories for your family! See you next time!

      Thank you so much for watching, and for your kind comment! I’m very lucky to have many knit worthy people in my family. The stress around the fit of a man’s garment was real though. I probably made my husband put in on ten times during the knitting process 😂 stay tuned for more content!

    Loved... I've watched one or two episodes of dozens and dozens of knitting channels and you are the ONLY one brave and humble enough to show your mistakes and admit when you were fumbling around learning as you are going. Love your pearl so ho! Following. I love cashmere anything to lol.
    Im forcing myself to finish my first tank, holdes, ladders and all. Once it's done I'm going to remake it because I have learned a lot from the experience and hope the next attempt turns out better lol. Please keep posting, really enjoyed this what I knit.

    You’ve encouraged me to try knitting a sweater. I’ve been knitting dish rags and blankets since 2010 😂😂 I’ve been fearful of failing at knitting a garment. That’s for the video 🎉❤.

    Loved your video and your knits. I just finished my champagne cardigan and got to wear it for the first time to work! It's a staple knit and I had the same thought when I finished it! "I have to make more!" I want a wine red colored one really badly and maybe even a black one. You did an amazing job for your first year of knitting! I had this pattern for a year and was afraid to try it because I was scared of getting the double knitted button band wrong! Just ordered the yarn last week to make my daughter a fern sweater. I can't wait to make that. If you like knitting for your husband, max the knitter has the mault sweater that I think would be gorgeous on a man's build but my husband will not wear sweaters that aren't open at the neck (v-neck or like the zipper swearer) 😂 can't wait to see what else you make this year! If you like wearing KFO pure silk I made the cumulus tea with it and wear it all summer! I need another one this year!

    • @easilyknitfluenced
      @easilyknitfluenced  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for watching! It’s such a great staple, isnt it? The Fern sweater is such an engaging knit too; and somehow the lace makes it knit up even faster. I wish that one had worked for me but it’s in a much better home now where it’ll get its time in the sun 😁
      The Malt sweater is on my list too! That would be my first Max the Knitter pattern. I just need to steel myself for the gigantic garment knitting again; not for the faint of heart! Stay tuned for more regular podcasts and other content, and thank you again for tuning in!

      @@easilyknitfluencedI agree! You said it was too big but then when on there is almost no positive ease in the sleeves and very littlw space under the arms...it fits you like a glove! It's just gorgeous and definitely not big at all. Hopefully you can find joy in wearing it!

    Honney, you keep saying the sweaters are too large for, they look great on you. Maybe it's not your personal style I don't you, be you look great in them. You look ready for a nice walk on a lovely autumn day.
    And don't worry about the linnen, it mellows out as at wears. Like women and great wine it increase in beauty as at it ages.

    It’s the merino that made that last petite knit cardigan so soft … not the cashmere . If you think about it ,,, you can actually buy next to skin fine micron merino undershirts… I wear them. I don’t know where the “ cashmere “ is soooo soft thing came from … but there are some very fine micron soft merinos . Unfortunately the merino is also more prone to pilling if not plied tight . I like your channel and subscribed and am excited to follow you on your knitting journey .

    • @easilyknitfluenced
      @easilyknitfluenced  9 місяців тому +1

      Oh that’s so interesting; I had no idea! I’d love to do more research on microns. I had heard that to be able to call something cashmere the range of microns counts you can use is actually very tight. But then I don’t understand the noticeable difference in quality in store bought stuff I have that’s all labeled cashmere.
      I personally love merino the most, it’s always been the mainstay in my knitting, and I guess pilling is the price I pay for that 😂
      Thank you for subscribing!

      @@easilyknitfluenced there definitely are different quality levels for both . I have bought second hand cashmere sweaters made in Scotland/UK that are buttery soft … and some from JJill , nordstrum etc that are like paper thin sand paper ..
