Just changed mine your tutorial was brilliant. I bought a zafira radio n display for a fiver on marketplace. Swapped mine no problems.Job done thanks a million. Just to note my old dosplay had two buttons for adjusting time etc new one no buttons time etc is set i presume from radio. Top tip put some clothes below where screws might drop when your screwing back in had the fatal drop down into below cigarette lighter gap....Thx once again
This really helps me a lot, for someone that know's very little about cars. I recently bought an Astra H (2006) and it's my second car. Planning to change and renew everything in the console. This video and explanation will help me a whole lot! The most useful and detailed video out on UA-cam, in a language I understand hahah. Saved it in my favs 👌 Keep up the good work! My next project will be to install new speakers. Do you have a video of that by any chance? Or can you advice me a good tutorial here on YT? Thanks again!
Hi, thankyou for the reply ,I have the 5 door astra mk 5 2007 model.I will be shortly changing all the worn and tired looking cloth interior to leather interior from a astra elite 5 door the seats I bought second hand and took them to the leather upholstery shop in bristol where I live .I believe these leather seats are heated so the facia I spoke to you about earlier with the heated seat buttons should work out fine and should be compatible I hope its just a case of plug and play . Its like the front bumper if you don't have fog lights the wiring for them is already connected to the loom so thats just plug and play hope my seats will be the same I will keep you informed
Oh, sounds like a bit of a project you have going there 🙂Mines a 2005, just wanting to keep it running as long as I can. Although last year it did finally give me a bunch of costs and work to do, but overall it's not been a bad car. You might be in luck then with the seats if the wiring is in place. Maybe the worst case you'll need to fit some fuses and relays? I have read that it's often possible to fit cruise control after the fact too. Good luck with it 👍
Hi, yes I think your right relays and fuses need to be looked at to get the heated seats to work they light up on the facia though but the sports button doesn't light up.Didnt expect it too to be honest.my car was owned by a disabled man before who had all the work done on mot ability I had the clutch changed a couple of months ago to luk and 2 new bottom arms its only done 75,000 thats why I'm looking after it as its been very reliable I also have the full xp kit to go on and 17inch vauxhall penta wheels as well they have all been refurbished also got some astra gsi bonnet vents to go on but all of it needs to be sprayed the right colour the irmsher rear spoiler and side skirts .The leather will be going in soon .The car is a 1.6 petrol twinport metro blue so it should look really different when its done changed the steering wheel today to a astra vxr one and installed a pumkin radio as well so it all matches black the facia and above the glove box that peace of trim is real black carbon fibre as is the light switch surround thats real black carbon fibre its starting to come together now
Was popping on to see if I could fix my “cd error” got caught up on your vid - wowzers your sooo clever! I could never do this! Btw I still have a cd error 😢 Astra H love em and hate em at the same time! Your video although didn’t solve my problem, was ace! 😀
My CD-30 stopped working after my battery died and I jump started the car. Opel service point checked the fuse box, they couldn't identify the problem. They didn't remove the radio. Is there another fuse in the radio? So I'll buy removal pins to take the CD-30 out to inspect.
Hi, your question got me curious so I've had a look at another unit I have and yes, there is a space on the back for a small blade fuse. It's actually located in the socket for the main connector that provides power and speaker connectivity so I think you'd have to unplug that to get at it. Looks like they are 15amp. It's a shame I didn't notice it and make a point of it in the video as it would be useful to have pointed it out. If you search for Opel CD30 Head Unit pinout diagrampinoutguide You can see plenty of examples showing the fuse location. Good luck 🙂
Nice work here. A really nice upgrade. I've not had much experience with fitting Stereos in Cars. Only once I've done it, but that was on my very first car I owned.
@Error42_ I have a Astra h 2007 as long as the cd30 comes paired with the screen it should be compatible even if the cd30 and screen is from a 2008 Astra h right? Also I won’t need no program or opcom right?
My understanding is as you have stated. As long as it comes with a paired screen it should be ok. I'd just double check with the person you are buying from that it is actually paired. I have no idea about OpCom, I have heard of it and read people suggesting that units can be paired up, but I don't really know. Sounds like too much of a headache compared to just getting a used paired set 🙂
One more thing to note, the plastic surround that attached the screen to the dash is different for different screens. So if you are going from the simple 2 line with 2 buttons to the multiline display then make sure you get the surround with the screen.
Thankyou I did all the same as you with the facia surround I changed mine from dull grey to piano black the plug still fitted and I have 3 extra buttons now 2 for heated seats and sports button not sure if all of that will work as i had the exact same facia as you I haven't pressed those extra buttons as I don't want to blow any fuses have you any suggestions??
Hi. I have to be honest I don't know a definitive answer to your question. I doubt that it would blow anything though, more likely it will just not do anything at all. If the feature isn't present in the car then any signal to turn something on would likely be ignored as a lot of things in cars now has some degree of software control sitting between the buttons and the device being operated. Your best bet would be to check out some of the Vauxhall forums online or maybe even post a question there, a lot of knowledgeable people can be found there that may have an answer. If you find out I'd be interested to know out of curiosity :-)
@@bossmanboom212 I'm going to have to take it to auto electrician as I don't have a front fog light switch on the dash panel because I'm changing a front bumper without foglights to a irmsher front bumper with fog lights so the bottom line is need a switch to operate the fog lights have you any suggestions?
Any idea what colour the speaker wires are in the socket, im fitting a new aftermarket stereo next week the original stereo is in now but only 1 speaker works
I have no idea off hand. Been a while since this was out. But you could try searching for vauxhall cd30 pinout as that should indicate the pinout on the original stereo, then trace through from there maybe? The plug will be mirrored to the socket though. Just don't connect the 12V to your speakers 🙂
Hi. Sorry but I'm not sure to be honest. I know there are cables available to give you an aux in but it's not something I've looked into enough to know which model units it works with, or how to even access the aux input.
My radio is stuck, so it wont get out and it’s constantly on ‘Extern In’. No buttons work accept the settings and bc. It won’t turn of even when the key is out and car locked. I got a headache from this 😭
That's not good, sounds like something has really gone wrong with it. I'm not 100% sure but I would think the radio would have its own fuse in the fuse box, so you could at least pull that so it doesn't kill your battery until you can get it out and disconnect it.
hello, I have a 'display safe' problem. my car didn't have a factory radio, I bought a used cd30 at the dump, but the display has no function, it just says display safe. how can this be solved?
Мораш да га кодираш или како они кажу венчаш са екраном и ја имам исти проблем, обрати се некоме ко ради мултимедије и тако то решиће ти проблем сигурно

Simply brilliant 👍🏼

Reeally helpful - thank you. Only needed to change the surround but this was invaluable.

You now only need fuses in the matching appropriate fuse box (RE; car manual) for the extra goodies to work 👍🏼
