- I dyed my hair purple and ended up dying my whole body!! I looked like a purple oompa loompa!
I take you through the steps as I dye my hair purple. I started from already bleached hair, which IS necessary if you have very dark hair, and used PRAVANA ChromaSilk VIVIDS hair dye in violet. To this day, my hair is still purple, and I still use this hair dye. I would definitely recommend it if you're thinking of going purple!
I did a quick little review of my immediate thoughts at the end of the video as well. I hope you liked it!

I did the same thing to my bathtub and I sprayed bleach all over it right after I got out of the shower and it all came off so easy
I use Provana as well for purple hair and.. I wanna know.. How in the heck do I get this off my skin. For the first week or so I look sick because it dyes everything.
I did this tonight and literally had to ask my mom for help multiple times to help get the dye off of me, soap and water ended up working pretty well
I'm watching this many years later but Clorox gel spray (has bleach in it) takes it off of the floor, cabinent, shower, everywhere. Because I got it everywhere lol. I sprayed my hands and arms with it (your prob not supposed to) but it came off easily on my arms too

Jello Powell haha it's pretty unforgiving with the dying. I put some rubbing alcohol and soap on a washrag and just scrubbed away. By the next day, the purple was pretty much all gone!
@Vannah Massan If your hair is almost black, the color isn't going to show up. You should lighten it slightly and maybe even put a little black in the purple when you're dying it. Hope this helps! I'm no expert but this is what I would do. Let me know how it turns out :)

Hey I have had this color in my hair for about 6 months now and I have found out that it lasts longer when you use the Pravana color ensure shampoo and conditioner I have only touched it up twice.

Aside from the shower, I'm curious if this color bleeds anywhere else, like on clothes, pillow cases, if you sweat a lot, do you get beads of purple dripping down your forehead?
lol beads of purple dripping down my forehead. i've yet to experience that one. it does, however, tend to rub off onto any really light clothing i wear. When that happens, it does come off in the wash though. Oddly enough, I haven't noticed anything on my pillow cases but, then again, they are red so...
i want to dye my hair with this but i dont want my hair too purple. would i get the same results even tho i have dark hair? or will mine come out more darker. (because i want darker) please reply(:
it will be darker if your hair is darker
Did you only use that one tube?? Was it enough because I'm debating on trying it out and I don't know if I should get 1 or 2 tubes...
Yup, I only use one tube. Combing it through really helps. If you have a lot of hair, I recommend getting two tubes just to play it safe. If you only end up using one, you can always save the extra for later!!

Did you use Ultra Violet or Purple Haze when you did Manic Panic? I thought both of them were pretty bad. Some of their other colors are good though, just not the purples.
jazzyminimomo I think i used Purple Haze. I think Ultra Violet was mixed in there too...huh. I wonder what it is about the purples that make them so bad?

how long did it last? and did u add anything to the colormix? i saw a video of someone have conditioner mixed with the color
I'd say it lasts pretty strongly for about a month. I do my hair about every two months but by that time, it's pretty faded.
I didn't add anything to the mix. I've heard of people mixing it with conditioner but from what I understand, that's if you want a lighter, more pastel color.
I recently did my hair with Violet and it's been 3 washes since I dyed it but... Did you find color transfer on your hands when you styled your hair? Sometimes if I'm playing with my hair, even when it's dry, my hands start going purple.... does the color ever stop transferring onto your hands?
Yea, that definitely happens. It does stop eventually but it takes a while, maybe two weeks? It rubs off on some light colored clothes too. It's annoying but hey, the dye works and it lasts!

This was too funny! Did it come out? Thanks for sharing, it was super funny. I did Manic Panic too and loved it but it does not cover gray hair and needs a lot of work to keep everything from getting purple!

It took some hardcore scrubbing with bleach but I did end up getting it off. I have some of the dye in my conditioner though, so every time I wash my hair it bleeds. As a result, my shower is still tinted. :P
I did this exact thing today! I called for my wife to come in the bathroom and she almost fell over laughing at me. I used a lot of rubbing alcohol and it mostly came off my skin. But for a hot minute I thought I was gonna be a character from the Hunger Games books.

Use oVertone purple conditioner and your color will last twice as long!

You should've diluted it a little so it wouldn't have stained everything so bad and that their would be less buildup in your hair but nice job.
