  • Tamron has just announced the Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3, a more compact version of their 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Lens. It’s the lens you grab when you need something lightweight but flexible in terms of zoom range, making it great for those days when you go from photographing a hike, to a concert, to a portrait, and then macro images.

Just preordered. Can’t wait to try for my runway photography.

That's a beautiful damselfly. Damselflies are generally smaller than dragonflies with slimmer bodies and typically fold their wings upward along their bodies at rest, while dragonflies keeps their wings flat and extended.

Why buy the 50-300 over the 50-400 -- Weight and size? Are there differences in quality of image?

Somebody, please try it on Megadap adapter, I'm interested about its performance on Nikon. The lens also doesn't have VC on/off switch, so I wonder if IBIS would fight it.

Are you guys that lazy to proofread, cause you’re not using Sony A7R to test this lens; you’re using Sony A7RIV. That’s misleading.
