I do like the look of Mork Manual better. Don’t get me wrong, love the chaotic nature of Mork Borg book. It always reminds me of the voynich manuscript.
Finally! A mork borg book that won't make parents concerned for my wellbeing! I dunno for your take on getting hirelings for specific skills instead of multiclassing, as from my understanding that's ironically adding more things to track than just having a skill on your character and worse putting said skill at risk of being lost by the enemy or something else unfortunate.
It's much simpler for me. The sidekick is simply a listing of powers for utility purposes. They don't engage in combat or anything. Also allows for some role playing opportunities, as most of my favorite S&S things consist of two different characters and how they interact. But do whatever it is you need to do to make your game work for you!
That’s creepy, I just made a d66 monster chart for my solo and group games. Shares a lot of monsters of course… rats looking at that one I left off bugbears on mine.
So I guess base Mork Borg and Mork Manual are compatible, but the MM characters are a bit stronger, so I don't know about mixing the two. Also, Mork Manual actually uses Agility for ranged attacks (like it should) unlike MB which uses Presence for ranged combat, for some godforsaken reason.
Yeah - there are definitely some differences, and it was a choice the designer made to make the characters in MM a bit more survivable to jive with the S&S genre a bit more.
this looks great! sad I missed out on the Kickstarter. There is so much amazing stuff coming out it's hard to stay on top of it all. Nice problem to have though. :)
Just clicked to watch hehe but I have some info for people who want some cool content for Mork Borg I know you have at least some of it from this but Also you might be interested to know that on Itch Gizmo has a bundle sale of tons of his stuff all but two things are for Mork Borg 15 things in total for less than £4! has Book of Misery vol 1+2 (this alone is more than worth it, hell one of them would be) Frozen Hellscape, Mork Ages and much more :-)
Mork Manual looks perfect for running Kavlov's Sanctuary which has an overall feel something like Keep on the Borderlands except for the MB based classes it included which felt very out of place to me.
I agree that it can really use a he crawl supplement. But more disappointing is the lack of core character creation flavor and development. Mork Borg and Pirate Borg have tables of traits and quirks and whatnot to roll to give your character flavor. And they seem to have more powers to add as you "get better." Granted, I can just use the tables from Borg and Pirate Borg for Mork Manual, but would have been really nice to have more appropriately themed for MM character flavors and advancement perks.
The scoundrel class entry says "You have two dependable pals who are always by your side, itching for a fight, and two old buddies who help you flee to safety when your pals get you into trouble." Am I to take this literally and give the Scoundrel two hirelings or something? Or is it some kind of a joke that flew over my head?
Can you recommend me a basic story or campaign to play coop with mork borg and solitary defilment, i dont know where to start as a story point, i saw your playthrough of solitary defilment and feretory but im lacking ideas for my first play, ill play with my wife. Im new on solo rpg, so far i play a few sesion of four against darkness that was amazing but a bit too straight forward
I'm not really aware of any pre-written adventures for solo / co-op MB. In this new series I'll be playing through the adventure mentioned in this video, and I think it's pretty good. I think any of the books I've covered would be good starting points. You can check them all out in my Mork Borg playlist!
I think on itch you can find a project called "Company of the Fading Star" its more of story driven from what I can tell also the creator of this book that Dungeon Dive is showing off has talked about it saying it goes well with his book (not required) :-)
MORE MORK BORG! MORE MORK BORG!
Really love their art style with this one. Yet another Mork Borg purchase oncoming. Lol
Hooo boii! I love it when you cover Mork Borg
@dungeondive - I love this kind of content and would love to see more love playthrough games
This looks like a good one! Thank you for the great video!
My pleasure!

Totally! That's a great comparison.
Awesome! Another MB book I have to buy. Thanks!
Haha. You're welcome! ;)
Fantastic. Already ordered mine while I can still get it. Awesome work as always.
Awesome! Thank you!
Remember to add your waterskin and D4 rations to your backpack, per the rules on p. 12.

Looks interesting & I love MB, but the book’s design is right up against the line of trying too hard/being too cluttered.

I'll have to look into that! Thanks.
@@TheDungeonDive A sequel just kickstarted as well. IDR the name, sorry.

I think the character classes have a lot of flavor just based on their powers. It's simpler, more direct, and game-play flavor, but I like it.

I would probably abstract it a bit in role playing, but I'm sure you could also go the hireling route.
Seems interesting but a hard copy will be cost prohibitive 😢

Thanks for a recommendation!
Where did you get that nifty character sheet? My copy of the Manual doesn't have one.
I think I got those from Itch? I just googled "Mork Manual character sheet"
@@TheDungeonDive Thanks, Daniel! I'll try that.
🎲
lol I am a real life fallen… know the worse is coming, but too apathetic to care.
Looks pretty good and love that it went easy on printers :)
Save you some yellow and pink!
