I think the coaster is salvageable if you don't look at it like it's a bloom. It looks like ice crystals breaking apart. I think it's lovely!!! Especially in that geode setting. NOT TRASH!!!! ♥

Thanks Michelle! You really are appreciated....I don't know if you know how much! We learn so much from you. You are willing to try anything and don't mind showing us the "fails" as well as the successes. That is one of the many reasons we love you! Although, I don't think it was a complete fail. Like you said, it just wasn't what you were going for.

The shimmer you added looked really beautiful in there. I’ve seen Petra Gerbracht add interference gold along with her white paste and they’ve bloomed. So, maybe the silver had some heavy metallics in it that prevented it from blooming? If you decide to try again.. maybe try an interference or a just regular mica? I appreciate you trying, I’ve wondered about it too.❤

I put nail powder or interference powder in my white all the time. But only a small amount. About how much you used the first time. When it blooms it shows up.
But I've never done a metallic nail powder.
I also do blooms without any white at all. Just mix mica with your resin instead of white and pipe it in. I typically will still do white for the contrast, so I'll pipe white and a mica, both.
And Daniel did say your epoxy has to still be tacky to put nail powder on the back. Or you can do a thin layer of UV, nail powder, then backing color.

I make petals with just mica powder. Nothing added. You just dont want to make it too heavy with mica or it won't bloom right, they will sink.

It was a good try though! I personally would have cut back on the pigment paste. Semi opaque works best to begin with for myself, and with even a slight increase of density from the nail powder could be a big factor. Thanks for always trying & teaching so much,it is appreciated.

They look pretty cool, but it's not a bloom, for sure! I've seen a lot of people using powders in their blooms, so I know it can be done. But when I have seen it, it's been put over alcohol ink colors, so maybe that's why they worked? Either way, dismiss the concept of them needing to be blooms, and you have some pretty cool looking work! Maybe stands or backgrounds.

Hi Michelle, I find that if my white paste is too opaque, then the petals get blobby, they don't bloom & just sink. I hate wasting resin too, so annoying, but that's the way we all learn, I guess.😩

Michelle, I tried putting mica on resin and the way that I have found is to put it on while it’s still a little sticky and it adheres to the resin otherwise it won’t stay on, without the alcohol of course. Lol
I have used mica in my white and it worked, maybe the white was just a little heavy? I’m not sure.

Michell I’ve done something wrong. I did key chains and they seem to be to fat for the 10mm is there anyway I can finish these?

The coaster looks kind of like coral. I think the powder must have been too heavy...it looks like it sunk. BUMMER!! The extrad are STUNNING though!! 💜😍💜🤯💜🥰💜

Aww little-un just asked why you didn’t put diamonds on the black? So I tried to explain why it wasn’t what you wanted - she said but it’s pretty like the flower we’d seen earlier (which was an alium btw) with the lines - so there you have it lol 4yr olds see beauty everywhere! I really like the lines I think it reminds me of dandelion 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍
