I work as a full time gardener in South East London and bought the AXT Turbine [TC] in summer 2019. I get a lot of clearance/tidy up work. Normally, I spend ages cutting and bagging up. This compact shredder simply kicks ass. Fits next to my mower in my estate car, easy to set up and munches through everything without jamming [if the empty the box in time, in which case empty and pull away material from below]. It's paid for itself over and over and you can sell them on for at least half the purchase price.
Thank you for this video! We bought this after we watched your review in 2020. It is the best piece of machinery we've ever had. We have half an acre of trees and shrubs. In a couple of days we can cut back everything and have lovely mulch for the beds. You've saved us a lot of time and effort trying to get rid of our waste and the mulch is keeping our weeding down. Thank you! (We would also recommend the Ego Cordless Tools. They are amazing...)
I just bought one. I'm tired of loading my trailer with unweildy branches and vegetation to haul to the recycle park. My Black and decker vacuum shredder does good job on leaves but branches and veggie garden stalks can fill a small trailer quickly unless they are mulched. Maybe one of my children will not find it too difficult to help me by feeding the trimmings into the machine. They tend to get stressed and suffer gastric distress (a sudden desparate need to use to toilet) if asked to perform actual hard labor.
Thankyou for your detailed review- I have just returned a cheaper shredder to Screwfix because the motor failed after a few leafy branches. Hopefully the Bosch AXT 25 TC, although quite a lot more expensive is less prone to jamming and will work through all kinds of material.
Thank you for a very informative video. We have had this machine for nine months, and in that time we have mulched a huge amount of garden debris. It has been worth its weight in gold! Literally huge piles of clippings and branches from pruning fruit trees, plus buddleia (very hard wood), forsythia, willow, beech hedge branches. My only criticism is the mulch is a bit too chunky to easily break down into compost. We tend to segregate what we are mulching...for instance if we have a lot of wood branches preferably without leaves, we use that mulch around borders as the pellets/mulch make a good barrier against slugs and suppressing weeds. I guess the only parts on the machine which will require changing in the future, are the turbine cutter and the static blade. I would be very interested to see how that is done. Thank you from France.
Thanks! Setting up instruction was helpful as the manual is rubbish and I wasn't sure about that safety flap, didn't want to force it if it wasn't meant to be like that!
I bought a Bosch ATX 25 TC. It worked well for a while. It got a bit tired and needed the turbo cutter sharpened. After much searching I asked Bosch for the instructions. Their reply is that there are NO Instructions for sharpening the cutter. They state the machine needs “to be fully disassembled””. There goes the warranty folks! The most expensive throwaway tool on the market. By Bosch so do not Buy Bosch.
It's hold out OK so far, not even had to do much sharpening of the blades. The bosch I had before this worked on a screw principle, I always thought that would last better than a blade
Thank you for the review. However, I noticed the machine was operated by a child (8:15); the machine should not be operated by children for health and safety reasons.
I was using petrol lowers at the age of 8 & had now problem I loved if... Some children should not use machinery & others are fine, & I'd imagine he was supervised & he looked more than capable...
Just took delivery of one of these, as a best buy on Which?. Couldn't wait to shred the cuttings from our long privet hedge, overdue for a trim since missed last autumn. Took a while to set up, as photographic directions of assembly not too clear. VERY disappointed with performance, , however. Privet trimmings went through the shredder virtually unscathed, and I think it is going to be useless for this purpose that I purchased it for, though the chipping of the bigger branches is impressive. Was very misled by the reviews I read before buying it that it would tackle most garden waste, UNLESS there is an adjustment that someone can suggest that will make it tackle these smaller twigs, that there is no reference to in the leaflet that came with it in lieu of a manual. Thank you for the clear video, perhaps you could add a comment about adjustments you can make?
The only adjustment that I have made was to move the metal block that acts as the back to the blade. I was getting small twigs just wrapping around the cylinder and not being cut as a gap had opened up. Got a few filing drop into the box to show it had worked and then it was OK again. I'm sure you will have tried that if it needed it so not trying to teach you to suck eggs but that was the only adjustment I could make. I'm presuming that if it is a privet hedge, it is green and leafy. I've had a few shredders and always suffered when it comes to anything with leaf on, sorry.
Same problem with me.Too much stuff not touched. Only good for dry branches and then chips are too big to compost quickly or within a reasonable time. Great with dry thick branches up to 4 cms.
Replacement for a shredder that was over 10 years old and cost 4 times less. The AXT 25 TC has pro's and con's. Pro's Quiet, easy to assemble, demolishes small branches, DRY twigs quickly and with ease. Large bin. Can be wheeled into position. Feels and looks sturdy and well constructed con's Expensive. Heavy ( elderly and those with back problems might find it difficult to move around ), Tends to clog shredding wet or leafy garden waste. Poor instructions- had to go to this UA-cam demo for help on its use and features. Overall I would score this at 7 out of 10 and say that it does not deserve the Which high rating
@@CloughReviews And you do not need to sharpen the blades on the turbine cutter? I mean actually sharpen it like a normal knife. You just turn the knob once a year or so and that is it?
Motor does go before the turbine. The pinion is machined into the motor shaft and gives up after a few years. Mine is now scrap because of the pinion, the turbine and cutter plate are still perfect.
This one does lock out to, but usually only with old, hard dried out, maximum thickness ones. Fine on feshley cut and even multiple ones in the blade at the same time. If it does lock, very easy to reverse and reset.
I actually sent the first one of these back because of that as I thought it was faulty. It wasn't thought, when the second one was doing the same I just went through the manual properly and it was something I wasn't doing properly. It's been so long now that I cant remember what it was unfortunately. Just go through the instructions step by step and you'll sort it.
@@CloughReviews thank you, thought so. I’ve just ordered one. what people are shredding in videos looks much thicker than what I measured as diameter 👍🏻
Just hope you do not need to replace the spiral drive that feeds the branches in they are unobtainable, sent an email to Bosch UK head office asking why, have they replied, have they hell. Will be replacing mine with anything other than Bosch.

Couldn't agree more. If I ever win the lottery, I'll get one of those chippers the foresters use, until then, this is perfect 😁👍

Awww, thanks for that
Thank you for this review ! I was hesitant to go with this model, but this review helped me to make my mind. Greetings from Turkey.
Thank you for that, glad it helped 👍😁
Exactly something am looking for. Well detailed review
Cheers Ronnie, It is a nice bit of kit
Damn was that a transport plane flying over in the end?

It's the best one I've had to date. Like with all shredders though, the fewer leaves, the better 👍
Have you experienced lights flash and beep stoping machine from cutting? And how do you fix it?
"Lets hit the reverse button and look into it without eye protection"
Excellent idea
Work hard play hard, life's all about the little risks we take..... 😁

Great information thank you. I'm making compost from my pruning etc, and it's a pain using a lopper all day. I need this 👍
It's pretty much perfect, the few leaves on the branches the better though 👍😁
This one looks much better than the Greenworks one that I bought.

I like the MB more 🙂
good kit, any good for leaves?
Not great if lots of leaves are on the branches. Tends to block. Fantastic if no leaves though 👍
These are not commercial by any means. They are too slow for jobbing gardeners. But it crushes and chops well.

Not great with leaves to be honest. I'd recommend using when all leaves have dropped.
How long can it run before you need to replace the turbine cutter? I noticed it is extremely expensive as a spare part.
No idea really. I've been using it quite a bit and only used the sharpening knob a couple of times. I think the motor will go before the blade

Скажите, а зелеными стеблями этот аппарат не забивается?
You can't put brambles through, but if you set it up properly, it will take everything else 👍🏻
Is it 45 mm diameter or width?
Width

Does this machine handle green brambles with the leaves still on? My current Bosch shredder (1600HP with screw cutter) tends to clog.
I've used it for brambles, but it's not great, they tend to break and not get pulled into it
Cough
May l ask...
What is the main difference between the
25 ...and 23 models.?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🌿🌾🌴🌳🌲🪴🌱🍁
I believe the only difference is that they replace the motor on the 25 from 2300w to a 2500w
@@CloughReviews thank you.. 🙂
Which is better this Bosch or the Makita UD2500? as that one is much cheaper
Not tried the Makita but no complaints with this
I have heard mixed reviews....i need to decide...bosch or the ryobi 3545u 3000w? Please let me know people!
will it shred cardboard ?
Yes, but you will probably get a lot of jams as the cardboard will rip and not pull through like branches do
A cheap offie shredder shreds cardboard just fine.
Any one know how to remove the blades?
There certainly is a knob on the side 👍

quisiera comprar esta trituradora, que tengo que hacer para hacer el pedido.
I bought it through Amazon, follow the link below the video and you might find it works in your country
Deffo got blocked 8:31 hahahahah
Top👍
Is it in india
Not sure Rav, sorry.
The product instructions tell users to wear gloves and safety glasses. Sensible advice I'd say.
It is so expensive.
Not in the world of DIY shredders, for how it performs....

You should NOT use any machinery without gloves, eye protection and ear muffs.
This is a very bad video to display to the general public.
Very informative video. Thank you
