    As a beginner with no farming knowledge, I’ve watched a couple other videos before this and yours is the best one!
    Thank you for the context around the processes and tips.

    I found out by accident, borrow equipment for one contract and use the same equipment to complete other contracts after accepting contracts. Don't complete the borrowed equipment contract until you have completed the others.

    • @MisledPlays
      @MisledPlays  8 місяців тому +6

      That’s always a great way to approach those contracts!

    • @andrewlynham606

      Does that work? I always see a warning popping up saying that this equipment is not contracted for that field..

    • @bobbywelch6035

      @@andrewlynham606 it works on contract fields, not on the fields you own. I have seen that message also, but it will stop after the worker gets into the field. I am using the PS4 version of the game.

      Lol... I just stumbled into this by chance also as I accidentally accepted a second contract... Regardless to say, this is how i do things now..

      I'd extend this and say always use contract equipment unless yours is better (bigger but not impractically big or, for example, have a wrapping baler). The cost of teaking contract equipment is always cheaper then the maintenance costs.

    Great intro, like you when I started. I knew nothing was just looking for something different to play. I love it now. I've been playing since FS 15, and every new version it gets better and better. My mates were like a "farming game", no way would I play that. Now, 4 of them play, and I could have sworen I saw my wife trying to plow a field, the other night lol.

    Thank you for this video. I have watched multiple at this point and they bypass everything you went over, and get straight to strategies or it is implied we know the basic steps leading up to what they demonstrate. This was super helpful to someone who tried to figure it out alone on Easy and it was ... not so easy lol. Simulator games really just throw you in there!

    Another thing I will suggest early on is keep an eye on used market (%). That is a great place to get budget equipment and I'll use an example of my current game. I have the MF 8700 mod installed and including maintenance was half price of new for a 400hp tractor. Also I've focus on oil mill and lumber mill.

    Downloaded this and went straight on start from scratch hard mode clueless bought a huge field in middle of Alps mowed grass for my animals I'm going to have eventually found out I've made silage bails bought stuff for delivering logs found out I can't load trailer without knocking it on its side sold it bought a wood chipper can't find anywhere to sell chips apart from fellsbrun which after an hour of driving round I think is a mythical land don't own a delivery trailer for bails nor have any money and owe 500k to bank. Currently ploughing other people's land to get 55k for a woodchip selling place to sell chips to get a trailer to deliver my 200 bails and complete my path to redemption and get back in the game.

    All good advice..mostly. : ) Starting in farm manager…. If you want to get rich quick so you can buy bigger “toys” and have develop a big farm... Borrow as much money as you can - the interest is low. Don’t spend it all - keep a couple of hundred thousand- you have to pay workers, interest, keep enough to replant etc etc. Buy big fields of the crops that return the most. Lease larger equipment for those larger fields. (Especially a good idea if you use the “lease to own” mod - you’re basically paying it off and can pay the balance and buy it at any point in the future). Fill your silo, cash in when prices max, pay back some loan, buy some of the gear, repeat for next season.
    Then if you want to go over to the dark side you can do some field flipping… it’s a soft cheat, but the game makes it easy. On purpose I think. Buy field, harvest, sell field…buy new field, harvest it…. You get the idea.

    • @MisledPlays
      @MisledPlays  5 місяців тому +1

      Definitely a great way to start, Farm Manager is nice to give people the chance to buy a lot of fields with some mid equipment, or, go big on equipment with a few mid fields and to your point… have some money left over! I plan on doing another video showing some various ways you can begin the game (mainly for newer players) and share some techniques to help with early game progression! I appreciate the comment and sharing some techniques with the community!

    Really good starter video! I started with this farm and didn't have a clue where to start. I cropped and sold all my wheat. (Big mistake)
    In my opinion....
    Buy 20-30 chickens
    Buy bakery to send all eggs to.
    Sell 2 tractors and buy a second tractor so you only have 2x tractors.
    Sell your car as its worth a fortune and by the jeep.
    Make sure you upgrade the jeep to pull a large trailer then download a autoload trailer from the mods.
    In my opinion at the beginning the speed of transporting goods was a problem.
    After that do a few contracts but rent the equipment until you have enough for the grain mill...then purchase that.

    Thanks for taking the time to help us new farmers out. I really enjoy the game I’m a real farmer too. But lately my game crashes a lot getting really frustrating. If giants tests these mods then why all the conflicts. They should make a way of identifying which mod or script is the problem so we can report it and have it removed. I don’t use any 3 rd party mods only through mod hub.

    I recommend that those on farm manager go into build mode and place a generator based on what income you want to bring in. I always place the government funded sign which gives 8.4 million per month. Fast forward one day then delete the sign. But there are other signs or things in the mod hub you can install to quickly generate income

    Your field ready for harvest state's it only going to yeild some 38%, and at the bottom, states zero fertilizer. However, being on the bottom mean's you should have fertilized prior, doing it now will ruin yield when running over it with the tracktor and fertilzer, thus adding it after the crop is grown becomes a moot point. Some field's ready for harvest will at the bottom have a zero plowing which should be zero "PLOWED". Becaues plowing after it's grown, will simple plow the entire crop under, thus zero yield.
    If and when you are going to harvest a field, what ever the yield state's, is like it or not, what that current yield will be. Thus prior to planting, "ALWAYS" utilze the map, which will inform you as to it needing plowing, fertilizing, etc. etc. etc. first. Once seeded, except for weeding in it's earily growth, basically to late to do anyting else that wont't crush the product, and thus cause less yield.
    In real life one see's or can view, field's with numerious tractor mark's. Basically there row's of seeding's are in row's. Thus allowing a farmer to do what ever they wish to the field without lessing any of the prospected yield. But then this is a game, so real physic's are not an issue.
    In the day's of old, north of the frost line, no one cultivated, they only plowed. Plowing with 12 inch teeth would bring rock's to the surface, that the frost, which goes some 6 feet deep, push up near and to the top of the surface. Plowing brings them up, destone, get's rid of them for the year. But then next winter's frost will push more up. South of the frost line one can utilize either a shallow or deep cultivator, which when there's no frost, after the first time plowing, there's never going to be large rocks or stones. And thus a shallow or deep cultivator will bring up if there are any, to be destoned. Once a filed south of the frost line has been deep plowed and the rock's and stones removed. The field never need's to be "PLOWED" again, simply using a cultivator, and picking which like a roller, will push small stone back down a bit. Which then make any and all damage to a harvestor, considerably less.
    In my youth some 75 year's ago, I use to assit in destoneing field's after plowing, and in as much as I lived in the middle of Minnesota, cultivation didn't work, one plowed each and every year. Which had to aspect's to it. One it plowed the last year's growth under, and brough up stones, rock's and even boulder's, Which then when there wasn't a machine, had to be picked up by hand and tossed into a trailer which at the time was a horse drawn wagon. Needless to say it was a long endevor doing 40 acre's every single year.
    When the farmer I worked for, finally bought a tractor, the first attachment he bought along with it was a destoner. Paid me the same, but taking less time, I ended up making less money and had to get another farmere to hire me to drive and destone his field. Cultivator's are only of any usefullness, basically south of the frost line, where once the big boulder's, rock's and smaller stone's have been removed. They stay removed, which then one generally only roll's and add's fertilzer prior to planting. Weeding when first noticed, mean's not needing any herbicide. Which saves a lot of money and good for the enviroment when it doesn't seep into the water table or in part end up in your food.

    This game gets pretty grindy, I turned off a lot of the settings to do with weeds or the extra stuff. Not because I don't understand it, it's because I can't get the Helper to do the rolling. Why, Giants? Why? Why? Why? AI Helper is cool and all but if it won't go do a task I allocate it, I'm done trying to understand that aspect of the game.

    • @MisledPlays
      @MisledPlays  8 місяців тому +2

      AI workers need a tweak for sure. Oddly shaped fields are absolute nightmare fuel for AI workers, you mentioned it, rolling can be painful, and they just run into trees and everything else. Course Play (mod) works ok, but truthfully, they need some work in future FS titles to make them more reliable, dependable, and efficient.

    • @thehomelessmongoose2579
      @thehomelessmongoose2579 8 місяців тому

      Alot of the rolling is a bug in the game. That's why Ai won't roll the only do what is needed you can't force them to do something that doesn't need done.

    You did an okay job of going through the basics, but you should probably have made each of your points a lot clearer. You might want to do a totally new video and properly annotate each point in the video. You can actually set up segments in the video playback bar which separate out each part, and if you figure out how to do that on UA-cam, it will make your presentation a whole lot better.
