I'm late to the party, but I can't get enough of Magda her Banda. I haven't heard anything I don't immediately love!
This reminded me of Henry Mancini and the 60s/70s films he scored. Melancholic.
And also - the person who mixed this did a tremendous job!
Nice! It has a strong influence from the 1960's. Despite the lyrics in French the music and the sound are totally Brazilian and Italian. Jobim and Morricone are there!
I have No idea what she's saying but I could listen to her sing this way, All day! Everything about this song sounds like she's describing the Perfect dream come to life. She takes me there. 🥰
I found Magda through snarky puppy years ago, all of this music reminds me of my sister and it fills up my heart. Time to drive to NOLA 🥰🤗 thanks for the unique and penetrating musical perspective, Banda Magda 👏👏👏
Everything about this is beautiful but those strings... absolutely gorgeous ♥
yes! the strings made the song!!!!
Preach it! Wished they had an instrumental version too!
So warm and expansive.
Utterly enchanting!
Love Magda, her gorgeous voice, love the band...may you continue living your dreams, guys. You have the talent and the authenticity of your passion and joy. Your music moves me...
Une très jolie progression d'accord, superbe orchestration de même
Banda Magda translates perfectly the Brazilian rhythm... I love it!
The strings section were killing it!
Gorgeous arrangement
De las cosas mas hermosas que tiene la música... Conocer genios como estos todo el tiempo... Hermoso arte!!! Cheers!
I simply love it. 😍
Sublime! Specially the strings arragement
This is one of my favorites on this album. So classic!
This is so well mixed!
B A, To say the mix is crystal clear would be an understatement.
Bellissimo ❤️
Beautifully performed.
This is absolutely beautiful
Tem um toque de Brasil aí! Amei!!! j'adore!!
Absolutely gorgeous!
maravilloso como siempre
Bossa nova, linda!
Translation:
Lev, Lev, Lev, take off your hat
Lev, let the sunshine
Caress softly your skin
Lev, Lev in my dreams
I imagine that you wake up,
Nearby me, without being afraid,
Of the monsters, of the night and of the heat
At dawn you wake up,
Lev, good student,
Umbrella at your hand, little hat
And a briefcase of supplies
At dawn, they wake up,
The monsters of your dreams
Monsters, photophobics, half-sleep.
Are you fearful of the sun?
Overflowing with vermilion red
I saw your heart beat, Lionheart
Beyond the appearances
I am embalmed by your radiance
Lev, Lev, Lev, take off your hat
Lev, let the sunshine
Caress softly your skin
Lev, Lev in my dreams
I imagine that you wake up,
Nearby me, without being afraid,
Of the monsters, of the night and of the heat
Lev, Lev, take off your hat
Lev, let the sunshine!
Emotions, drenched and criminal
And under a double rainbow
Kiss me, good student
Kiss me on the lips Lev, Lev,
Lev, take off your hat
Lev, let the sunshine
Caress softly your skin
Lev, Lev in my dreams
I imagine that you wake up
Take off your hat.
Honestly the beauty of it is in the play of words in french..but yeah
Thank you for taking the time.. Now I get why this has such an effect on me
Colors! Aesthetic! Music!

My 5 years old daughter asks for favirote "Amu-no-uta!" in Japanese. She will go crazy when I tell her that I dumped into another song from you guys. :)

i love this....is there a translation somewhere?
Beautiful...!!!
Which language is this? Can anybody provide meaning of this song?
it's French
French
Think it's German, cause it's a so emotional language :P
nope, it´s french. the french is a beautiful and emotional language.
Haha, don't upset the French please. German and French are a 'tiiiiiiny' bit different ;)

To me she sounds voiceless , too thin, many tones sound shortened. Also she's not really save with intonation. Her expression seems as artificial to me as her exaggerated styling ... sorry, not my thing. The band however is superb.
Your critique could not be more far off!! Her voice and styling MAKE the song! The airy quality and tone of her voice are spot on! And, her intonation is perfect by the way. C'mon! Trying to even grasp what you were listening to. Did you think that the couple to several times she spoke the lyrics, those were supposed to be pitches?? Ummm... no. That was deliberate and added wonderful texture. And might I say (aside from the fact that the tune was in French) that was seriously sexy! I love how her enunciation is so pronounced. I don't speak French, but it sure sounded like that was very deliberate as well. To me, it added to the whole mystique.
Sorry it's not my thing, if adult women are singing like 12 years old girls. And I dislike her way of shortening the wowls and speaking/singing the consonants too long. This also is not professional.
funklover24 Not professional?!! You wouldn't know professional if it hit you in the face. You're a lost cause. Just stick with "it's not your thing", please don't expound, it "shows your hand".
I'm not sure you understood the lyrics... I'm french and this is just magical... This music is breathing "peace and dream" ... Probably, one of the best experience of the year to my ears... It touchs my heart and I never felt such respected (as a french person)... Who guess music can bring this sensation?... Also, this is not sexy :-) It's much closer to "woman power" that can make crying a bear... but I understand it can seduce... They are soul doctors... That's what I felt!
It's fine not liking something. But when you say "adult women singing like 12 years old girls" you should probably get some context of 60s french music, google for Francoise Hardy and similar artists. "Professional" is irrelevant, music is art, neither vocational nor professional, but instead expression or impressionistic, and by your definition, most modern art would be "unprofessional". Do you think the Sex Pistols are professional? What about Charlie Parker turning up to his latter gigs off his face on drugs having to be held up by a helper just to play for the audience? None of this is professional, but it is music.
