Got myself one of those Yeti box. Did not use it yet but I´m sure it will be a game changer for my boat fishing. When I grab this box and put it in my boat I know that I know that I know I have everything with me. I also like the clean and rugged design of this box.
Some guys will complain "So many $$$ for just a plastic bin!!" BUT hey when you buy a high end water proof back pack etc. you have also to pay 250+ for it. The functionality and organisation value you get is outstanding.
I also put my rain gear, first aid kit, power bank and a small box with swivels, tippet rings, snaps etc. in it.
Love those vids! Thanks Colin!
I have a waterproof box that I keep under the flyline deck on my drift boat. It's more oriented toward possible mishaps, I guess. I have a small first aid kit, some basic pain relief meds and a compound to treat bleeding wounds. There's also stuff to start a fire and Mylar emergency blankets. You have to have a roll of duct tape or something similar and a length of sturdy cord. Like you, I keep a multi-tool in there along with some flashlights. Of course there's the critical TP, too.
I totally forgot my small first aid kit in that description, thanks for picking that up. You're absolutely right about the duct tape....always CRITICAL to have in any good boat box, truck, etc...! Thanks for your valued feedback
Great video on organization.
Colin, thanks for the great video. Green shirt close to St Patrick’s day is cool too. Wishing you a great spring!
Thanks! You too!
Great video !
I have one that is set up very similar and it is great
You may consider adding a small FirstAid kit. Bandages, tape, antiseptic creams, etc. Great organization. I’m also color coding my fly boxes and tying materials.
Great idea!!
I bought that same YETI box last month. Looks like it should last a lifetime.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Would love to see a tutorial for that hopper!
This is an absolute great site. Thanks Colin. WildDaddy
I wish I was that organized
Great Video! Also love the Fishing Room, have you done a video tour of your fishing room?
Not yet!
Nice video Colin 🎣👍. I pack everything into a small backpack & my fishing vest, I AISO carry Bear spray & Bangers. I could take the gun & ammo, i to travel as light as possible 😉
Can you fit large Plano boxes in the yeti?
Is the box large enough to use as a casting platform when you want a little more height?
Yes, just did it in Patagonia at Magic Waters. Solid build and definitely wide enough
what was the bag that had the Orvis label on it
that is the orvis boat bag, here is the most recent version: www.orvis.com/pro-waterproof-boat-bag-28l/3AKG.html
my boat bag is ten years old and still going strong
When you hit the top of the box it messed up the audio
I am surprised that there wasn't a first aid kit in the box
Excellent point Kevin, thanks. Will add for this season
As much as the yeti load boxes are cool. For 1/4 the price getting a dewalt tstak or husky toolbox type of storage for worksites is just as strong and with more organizational options. Modular as well.
Thanks for your input!
Those tool boxes has not the same quality and functionality. The plastic is cheap and most of the compartments in those tool boxes are useless for a fisherman. They are just not made for fishing.
@@FlyFishingChronicles the plastic might be thinner, but I’ve got mix of Milwaukee pack-out boxes that I’ve beaten up on job sites that are still water tight and considerably lighter than my pelican and yeti gear boxes
And if they did break.....I could still have enough money saved from buying a yeti to buy a couple new Milwaukee boxes
