Absolutely loved the sweet, posters of them on my bedroom walls, bought every single, got the sweet fa album for a b day present. Now of course I have cd’s of their music. My kids (aged 20 and twenty two) blast sweet out just like I did, only nowadays I have a much more powerful stereo. But altho Andy’s the only one still alive, Steve, Mick and Brian live on, rest in peace guys, your a legend xxx ♥️♥️♥️
Really good band. Seems like yesterday they where mainstream on TOTPs. They had great songs , attitude and looked like Navvies in drag ! They made unique sounds that absolutely captured the period especially Fox On The Run with the echo . It makes me cry as it is so evocative of my youth . God , life is short.
Mention 70’s music to anyone and the sweet would always be mentioned,Brian taken from us way too young,I recently bought a best of sweet cd ,I loved the seventies especially the sweet,We just haven’t got a clue what do do 🎶🎶,I could’ve sworn Steve was Welsh 🏴
Love Steve's Yorkshire accent (his mum was from there?)! Also a little glimpse of what Brian was like & why no one could get him to stop smoking without consequences!
I wish I could have heard what Steve was saying about Little Willy and Brian before the beginning of this video. It’s not at the end of part 3 either. It seems like he had more to say than this song was about Brian.

Stevie Priest was a good bloke, a very modest man, and actually a very talented muscian.
Steve was a great story teller and very funny

Loved his vocal on California Nights. That song should have been a bigger hit than it was.

Ballroom Blitz, first single I ever bought at 13yo
A top band almost hinged on being a rock band , if they had done a Quo and wore Jeans who knows
Time can be so cruel.

Yes, she was. His dad was Welsh.
But more of a glimpse of what alcohol does

I agree. I keep hearing that it was about a cat who always hung around the studio and wouldn't leave. 🤷
@@Mick_Ts_Chick I don't think so! 😂
Little Willie was about the fake Paul McCartney. William Campbell (billy)
@@Mick_Ts_Chick I heard that too! Even Brian singing it he had a meow vocal part.
@@Mick_Ts_ChickI heard the same thing. 🐈 This is the first time I’m hearing that it was about Brian.
Queen were the band sweet should have been.
Sweet were Sweet...Queen were Queen....not the same!
He means a Glasgow kiss
Time for a short back and sides.
I'll be sure to tell his cremains you think so next time I visit.
@micheleangelique423
My ignorance shining through there..much respect to Steve. I love Status Quo and all the hair(or lack of)over the years.
You should see Andy Scott
Christ ,let himself go to pot.!
Booze
If a burial urn is a pot, then yeah, you're right. Wow, the comments section of this video is like flypaper for judgmental arsehats.
@@paulweston285Was not about booze. Let's see what you all look like when you get old and in your 70's.
@@debbiescott6732 Sadly it obviously was all about booze. Paul McCartney & Mick Jagger are in their 80s and they look just fine.
