Grief is a hard battle and I’m learning as I go. I miss having my lil Supawvisor in the studio with me when making videos, livestreaming or editing. Again, thanks for all the support, I know we’ll get through this!
Once you’ve shared the love dogs bring us it’s impossible not to give another wee soul the chance at the great life you gave Gus, take time to grieve then always think what an amazing existence it is coming out running with their pack
Ethan, you never need to say sorry for anything! The joy, inspiration and warmth that you and Kim bring to everyone is something you should feel proud of! We will miss you Gus, but you will always be remembered.
I can relate in an east-coast way; we lost our Golden retriever-mix 'Mac' about a year ago and its still difficult to talk about him without getting emotional. We were never dog people until a neighbor suddenly passed away and we 'rescued' him. He instantly became a loved member of our family and we still miss him. Then we had Hurricane Helene a couple of months ago which also shut out power off for a week and brought our community together. But the local trails are still a mess and will take a long time to recover. My runs are also interrupted with climbing over blow downs and finding alternate routes. So east coast, west coast...same thing. Sorry for your loss.
I feel so sorry for your loss, I’ve been a daily brew crew member since the inception and Gus was so much a part of it. I feel the loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to you both. I know he was a part of you.❤️🙏
Grief is such a strange thing. Comes in waves… feel good some days and then out of nowhere it just hits. Take time when needed, everything else will still be here
Dogs are the best people. I feel your pain. We’ve been married 44 years this year and a few weeks ago we buried our third dog of 14 years - It very was tough. Glad you’re back at it. 😊🏃♂️🏃♂️
Glad to hear you survived the storm. Sorry to hear of your loss. This is commonly attributed to Sir Walter Scott: "I have sometimes thought of the final cause of dogs having such short lives and I am quite satisfied it is in compassion to the human race; for if we suffer so much in losing a dog after an acquaintance of ten or twelve years, what would it be if they were to live double that time? The misery of keeping a dog is his dying so soon. But, to be sure, if he lived for fifty years and then died, what would become of me?"
So very sorry to hear about Gus. There was a quote I found particularly comforting when my Mom passed from cancer years ago. It was "Grief is proof that love persists." It helped me navigate the grieving process from that loss, and the way the grief changes over time. He'll continue to live in your memories of him, but I'm sure going to miss seeing/hearing him on the live streams.
Your Gingermas present to us is that your alright. Prayers go out to you and Kim for your loss. It may be tough but your Ginger Elves are here for you two. Happy holidays to you both
I lost my beautiful dog Poppy in July. We had her since she was a few weeks old. She grew up with my two children. It's still hurts. I miss her like crazy. I just tell myself it's meant to be painful because of the love we have for her. Sending you both love from the UK. Chris
It was definitely sad to hear about Gus . I have my Gus postcard over top of my desk I that I look at every day . Losing a friend like Gus is not easy. We lost our 13yo GSP and both of our Horses ( all due to old age) within about 6 weeks . It took us a couple of years to get another horse and even longer before we were ready for another dog . Now we have a almost 3 yo Yellow Lab after realizing how much the kids were missing out on having a dog in the house .
We lost our cat last year on Christmas Day. It was very sudden, was fine all the way up until she vomited blood and passed away at the vet's. You just have to be happy you gave them the best life possible. It gets better.
Omg! Cougar Mountain looked the same way. Amazed at the huge roots from these trees. Also, so sorry to hear about Gus. Our pets are truly members of our families.
So sorry to hear this, my condolences to you both. I know hope much our dog means to my wife and I, and how much joy he brings to our lives. I am sure Gus couldn't have been any more loved than by you both, and had a very happy life with you.
Hang in there. It is hard for some to comprehend, but the bonds we share with our furry friends go deep, very deep. And when tragedy hits, it takes a lot of heal. Be strong, and thanks for allowing us in during this difficult time.
Hey dude - so sorry to hear about your loss. It's wild how hard it is to deal with losing a beloved pet, but like others have pointed out - you gave the wee doggo the best life possible. That's ultimately all we can do.
Big hugs, dude. We helped both of our old pups cross the rainbow bridge recently - Winston (18) pug last year, Aces (19) pit pix this October. The emotions come in waves.
I'm so sorry to hear about Gus. Seeing your videos over the years you two were amazing family for him. Having lost my own Gus years ago, and having almost lost my little lady Scarlett earlier this year (she made it through a rather dire situation), I know that pain. I just remind myself that I have given all the love I can to these balls of fuzzy stardust, and that I am richer for having been able to be part of their lives.
Thanks so much for sharing this. I’m recovering from surgery and haven’t been able to see just how bad the trails in the issy alps got hit. Fun tidbit I heard is that the tree fall was particularly bad because as you said the winds came from the east and most of our big windstorms the winds came comes from the west and the root structures have developed to absorb the winds from that direction.
So sorry to hear. I was afraid that may have been what happened. You were excellent parents, no doubt. It's unavoidable, but never easy to endure. My thoughts are with you both.
We all move through our emotions in our own way. Sending all the respect and love to you and your partner for the loss of Gus. Take all the time you need, we will be right here
@@TheGingerRunner I went down Poo Top and One View on Saturday- still some BIG blow downs up there that need to be cleared. Ironically NEVER been on the Brink trail ;) Looking forward to Tiger Claw!

Adopt another pup as soon as possible. Gus would want you to love again and give another dog a loving home.

So sorry, guys. Losing a dog/family member/best friend is never easy. Please know that Gus had the best life possible because of you.

what helped me a little was learning that grief is love with nowhere to go

Same here. Married for 39 years, always had and have a dog. Life is empty suddenly when your family dog dies.
@ favorite song: I Want My Dog to Live Longer” , Salgado and Hager 😊
Loosing our four pawed friends is the worst and it hurts, sending you both love and best wishes. Glad you're all safe after the storm. 🐾

East/South Tiger trails would be a good sequel. There's some massive blow downs over there 😢

Which trail is this? One of the worst I’ve seen - Seattle View?
Nah, brink! Seems like most of the upper stuff has been cleared/wasn’t affected! Crazy

what it means to lose your dog you will only understand when you have lost your dog…
