Doing Japan Honda things with my JDM Honda Integra! Spoon Type One visit!

- Visiting Spoon / Type One has been on my list of places to visit for a long time and with the DC2 road legal it was perfect timing when @lowballzach said he was going. The DC2 is running and driving great. The Type One facility is just on another level in terms of cleanliness, presentation, and making the most of the space you have. Totally worth the visit and even stopped by Spoon and scored some goodies for the Integra. Great chill day!
Give @lowballzach a follow if you're into Hondas and those rare OEM option parts!
Really appreciate you liking the video and sharing the channel!

i admire your video bro. i see myself 10 years ago when i was working on my honda civic. working wtih limited tools doing DIY Stuff to keep your ride prestine Condition.for that you sir earned my respect you for restoring this timeless beauty. take good care of it. Keep it up.
I really appreciate that kind of energy man. It's been a long road...and one I certainly underestimated when I bought the car. Finally out and enjoying it more now and it feels so good! Such a fun car. Now I understand all the love for these golden era Hondas.
That first POV on the freeway ❤! This was great, using the car, visiting Spoon/TypeOne. The string-up was awesome too. Zach is such a champ also. Really enjoyed this 👍🏻👍🏻
That's awesome to hear. Kind of a different feel than the normal work vlogs so it was fun to make and a bit of a new challenge. Zach held his own on camera which really helped as well. Looking forward to doing more of these "DC2 but not really DC2" videos.
love the spoon trip, verno sticker +100hp! and that s13 grandpa spec made me shed a tear of joy. good stuff as always
Appreciate the kind words and definitely share the sentiment! Seeing S13's like that (or just in general) isn't very common so I definitely get excited when I do!
We have another Integra UA-cam channel and you're also in Japan? Great start! Don't stop!
Oh awesome, I'll check out your channel! It's been a long year of getting it fixed up and back on the road, so it's just nice to get out and be able to enjoy the car a bit. The real fun starts now of prepping it for track days and getting some seat time!
Been really looking forward to the splitter being fitted! Just a bit of paint when the bonnet is being painted and it will look outstanding! 👍👍😃😃😃
Much appreciated! That lip really makes the front end on these. Out of proportion without it. So happy it's back on there even if it's a bit tattered. Appreciate you all waiting for 30 videos for me to put it back on! 😂
Those region specific Honda dealer stickers is the coolest thing ever!
I had no idea they were a thing! Super cool tidbit and I guess the sticker can stay for now. Haha.
Yeah EG Honda Primo !!!! Always wanted a decal from
Them back in the day 90’s!!
It's definitely a cool detail and history!
The Verno sticker is cool dude. Keep it! It shows where the Integra was originally sold when new.
I had no idea! It is a neat trivia piece. I guess I'll keep it for now...but the rear would look cleaner without it. Haha.
awesome video steve..low Ball Zack definitely a walking Honda encyclopedia..although the front lip on the dc2 is a little damaged, I think it completes the front of the car..good stuff!
Really appreciate that! The lip really is necessary on these to make them look right! And yeah, hoping to do some more videos with Zach in the future. Always fun to learn those random tidbits from someone so deep in a topic...especially the golden era Hondas.
So sick seeing you actually go somewhere in the DC2!! That car will be as clean as the floor in Type one when you're done😂
Hahaha, it is a good feeling for sure to just drive it a bit and do actual car things with it!
Loving the channel direction! I used a product called Autosol to clean up the JDM oil cap. Not sure it's available where you are but it took the surface rust off, minus the pitting.
Appreciate the support - thank you! I'll look into what rust removers are available here and see how it goes. Luckily everything looks good on YT/IG. Hahaha
OG string method for alignment! 👍
Can't beat it! I've done them like that for years and it hasn't let me down.
That beginning gave me flashbacks lol. Had to use an entire can of acetone to remove spray paint of an ENTIRE front end of a Prelude haha
Oh man, I can't imagine doing a full front end! I feel your pain! Hahaha
@@BRICKHOUSESPL Well it was only about half way up the front end, but it wasn't super thick, so it wasn't super terrible, but the fumes were haha.
@@Clark_R 😂😂
It’s like Honda heaven I need friends like this
Haha, I'm definitely learning as I go with the build but it's a fun community!
@@BRICKHOUSESPL same I own 2 Hondas and I build working on them alone with UA-cams help UA-cam is my only friend lmao the racing scene in Hawaii is crazy
@@letsfish808 keep it up man! The struggle makes the payoff sweeter.
@@BRICKHOUSESPL Thankz fam
I de-rusted my oil cap with a product called "Evaporust". Let it sit in it overnight. Took it out the next day with zero rust.
Nice! I'll check it out or see what's available here and give it a go. It would be nice to see it looking all fresh again.
You've never seen dc2's with the OG green VERNO windshield banner? Or the factory verno liveries? Aside from clutch master & brake master you should also put reservoir cover on power steering pump res out of the 3 they are by far the most leak prone very common leak on dc2's
If I did, I didn't know the significance. This DC2 is my first Honda after many years of Nissans. This first year of ownership was mainly focused on getting it running and what was needed next to make that happen. 😂 Thanks for the heads up on the PS. I've definitely seen it boil when drifting but didn't know these cars suffered the same problems.
I went there last 2019 and luckily ichishima-san was there. Got some goodies and ask for a signature from him
What amazing timing! That's awesome! Jimoto-san sold us our items at the Spoon store which was pretty cool.
Nice video mate. Might sound odd but what is the sticker caller u replaced at the start? My importer dc5 came with one but when fitting the sunstrip they removed it. I would like to get another for some jdm points/more bhp 😂. The goal is to go to the type one shop one day.
That's the expiration date of the road inspection (shaken). Kind of like the yearly license plate stickers in America. Every two years it gets replaced, but you can't buy them so your best best would be to have a custom one designed and printed.
@@BRICKHOUSESPL perfect thanks for confirming. Sounds cheaper than taking it back to japan and getting a new one. Keep the dc2 content coming.
@@darrenviljoen2522 🤣🤣 much appreciated, will do!
😍😍😍
👏👏🙇
duuude........................thats a clean engine bay in youre DC2
Haha, thank you! So much time spent cleaning, painting parts, and refreshing things. I can't believe it came back as well as it did. The last part of the engine bay refresh is here: ua-cam.com/video/p_ilUdEk-n4/v-deo.html
Did you just go walk into Type One garage and just do your thing filming? No need for an appointment or anything? Nice video bro!
They are super open to visitors but we asked before. I think they realize they're a landmark/tourist attraction for so many and, very progressively, really opened their doors to guests. I think they also maybe realized it's super valuable free, organic marketing (just my views, but they seem ahead of the times in that regard).
What a difference the lip makes!
Is the Shaken process just for new and unregistered cars? IE do you have to do the same process buying a registered used car from someone?
Mint content 👍
Lip is so good right! Definitely a must on these. 30 episodes later I finally put it back on. 😂
For a registered used car, you just have to do the vehicle inspection part and basic paper work.
I was doing a vehicle inspection, registering a deregistered car, and a title transfer to put it in my name. So more moving parts on the paperwork side versus two years from now when I renew the shaken (road inspection).
That was a fun watch! Thanks for sharing. Next road trip: Honda museum 😀
Much appreciated! Going to have to look that up! I always see people go to the Nissan/Nismo museum but now I'm curious about the Honda one.
@@BRICKHOUSESPL it's at Twin Ring Motegi, kill two birds with one trip by going lapping there and visiting the museum (I think it's called Honda Collection Hall, Pete and I went there back in the magazine days on a private trip with Nitto tire).
@@speedacademydave oh nice, I'll have to look it up. I had read up on Twin Ring Motegi a while back and it was an interesting story and history.
Lol I might chop this Porsche right here!
Hahaha, I mean it was just a Boxter cruising in the slow lane and I was in the fast lane, but that still counts, right?? 😂
Yeah boxters are slow! You could have definitely chopped them! Lol
I guess when it says 1 day ago since its from japan it means you just uploaded right?
It says uploaded 1 day and 10 hours ago on my end so I'd imagine it shows the upload date relative to your timezones and then just rounds the time since upload to the nearest day after the first 24 hours and then so on for "days/weeks/months" since upload.
Sir-g integra?
You are correct! You know your Hondas!
Verno, Clio, Primo. RIP.
Such interesting names. Maybe they mean something in like Italian or some other language?
Wear a breather holy shit😷
I do depending on the situation. On the whole, Japan is still wearing them. Not sure when they'll it will become less common here.
use vegetable oil to remove rust, lay a thin coat on the cover and it’ll protect it.
I've never heard of that. I'll look into it!
@@BRICKHOUSESPL I use vegetable oil to coat my bbq pit. It removes rust and protects it from it. Even if it rains. It keeps the rust off.
Yo tenia un 1999 acura integra gsr blanco 🎯
Oh nice! This is its Japanese cousin. Haha. Mine is a 1998.
@@BRICKHOUSESPL Cool 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
