7:12 That bouncing attack looks like it was ripped straight out of Altered Beast, and it *coincidentally* happened to be one of the Bear transformation’s attacks.
14:12 “This is the most naked creature I’ve ever seen in a video game”, Matt says, as if Felicia and Morrigan from Darkstalkers didn’t exist. Heck, Firebrand from Demon’s Crest actually struts around *fully naked* for the entire game and no matter what form he takes.
That is only basic nudity, 100% Nudity, any drunk can take off their clothes and be basically nude. THIS is Advanced Nudity, nudity that surpasses 100%, an eroticism that bares the soul. Advanced Nudity cannot be stopped by merely adding fabric, if anything clothing will only make them MORE naked.

Panthro and SwordWolf were always the 2 I played as. Something about pointless shoulderpads and a frikkin sword to slaughter the masses really hooked me as a kid. Aerobics Demoness and Big Tiddy Gaia were super ahead of their time spritewise.

I turned into a Panther once, I didn't like it. No judgements it just wasn't for me.
The only other game I recall that is a beat em up that you play as a Panther dude is Golden Axe 3 and he was worth it for a playthrough alone.

That bear transformation and bear down attack would really fit in at various bear events

I've loved this game for years, though I never saw the original arcade cabinet. I had no idea the Japanese version was so different either for the better. Letting you keep the beast form longer like this is always a positive, the English versions it has its own meter separate from your health so it runs out from taking damage, too. Plus every credit you used went towards giving more health instead of more lives, since you basically had infinite health and no lives. But now I'm gonna have to try out this version of the game to experience these differences, too.
My local pizzeria had this arcade machine when I was growing up and I played this constantly. I always confused it with altered beast years later but boy did this video hit me right in the nostalgia.

This is definitely looks a lot like Altered Beast,but with glam rocking 90s style vibes to it. The panther guy really is rocking on those torn shorts.

LOOOOOVED this game on the arcades when i was a kid!! it took me YEARS to remember it (forgot the name) too bad it doesn't have a port or remake.
The only bad thing about the japanese version is that it doesn't show the "dead soon" promt over your character when he is low on health which is the most hilarious beat em up promt, that's the one thing the american version has over it.

Games like this are why I miss arcades so much. A group of friends gathered around a cabinet, the row of quarters set on the faceplate, everyone goofing around and playing together, maybe with a small audience if we were doing really well. Just can't get that in online play - that vibe just isn't there. Y'all gotta be in the same place.
BTW: is this game in any collection or was this emulation? Probably the latter, but if its the former, I WANT that collection.

Yo. Whoa! I PLAYED this at a skating rink back in the day. I was too young to bother remembering the name of the game. I just knew it was the best game that place had. All the kids wanted to play it. For over 20 years I was certain what I had played was Altered Beast, but this was definitely what it was. Thank you for the brain jolt, Matt!

Anthropomorphic applies to non animal things as well. For example Azur Lane has Ship girls and Girls Frontline has Gun girls for example
Four and a half minutes in and a Boss already gets “Fist of the North Star’d”. He just plain walked his way to the center of the circle before his body just burst. And I didn’t even hear a “Omaewa Mou ShinDeru” out of the Panther man.

This arcade game was AWESOME. Played the hell out of it at a local video gam rental store. Ok, yeah, the always dying thing was CHEAP, but I was little shite and didnt know any better.

I was wondering why the Thumbnail renderings looked like the way it does, with all tha odd glow, but than I saw the Panther's sprite in game and than I get. Also thanks for the editor for translating the japanese text in the video, your extra work is very much appreciated.
Also I glad that we all can just get over the awkwarness and prudish and just accept that sexy animal people are hot, but is so funny how much of a "furry" maker this game is. Not just with people turning to anthropomorphic animals, but the fact that so many of them are also so muscular, as naked as they can get away with and they even have this shin on there bdoies to make them look all oily and shiny. The first boss's muscles even grow and inflate tearing the clothes before exploding and than people wonder why people are furries.
'Knights of the Round' also has a system where you get better armor and weapon the more treasure you collect (actually, i don't remember if you actually get stronger or if it's just a visual, either way it looks cool)
You do get stronger, depending upon your score

Another game I had never heard of until I discovered emulation in the late 90s. Not my favorite beat'em up, but any game with a transformation focus has a special place in my heart.

Yooooo! Growing up my local airport had this game in the arcade and it always looked so hype, but I was never allowed to play it.
You can tell there was some asset reuse in animations from/for X-Men, depending when which game came out first.
It's a crime that this game is still not available on modern systems.
