This is the Gameplay video that goes along with my "KENNER ALIEN BOARD GAME How-to Play & 18" Kenner ALIEN & Box Art Trivia" video.
I got creative with "Continuity Errors" to explain mistakes while shooting nice footage. If I held boring wide shots then mistakes and oversights in gameplay demonstration wouldn't happen. But since I shoot wide shots then close-ups things slip thru the cracks. However it's also a good way to teach the game. I also get creative with the running commentary tying it into the movie. I also use sound effects from the movie ALIEN.

This is my 1979 Kenner ALIEN Board Game. A game of Elimination and Escape. I show trivia of the Kenner ALIEN logo in which they took the shape from H.R. Giger's ALIEN Art Design Book Egg Silo. I show my 18" Kenner ALIEN in box with a Sporting Goods price tag on it. They used the Kenner ALIEN on the box top.

A fast-paced exciting space adventure game of Elimination and Escape based on the popular 1979 Twentieth Century Fox movie ALIEN. From the rules sheet & box: Aliens have invaded the spaceship Nostromo...they’re stalking the halls...they’re out to eliminate all the astronauts on board! Recreate the suspenseful terror of the new hit Space Thriller, ALIEN. Use luck and strategy to defend your astronauts from deadly ALIEN forces.
Object
Be the first player to get one of your three Astronaut tokens through the Spaceship Nostromo into the safety of the Space Shuttle Narcissus in the center of the board! Also, use our Alien token to eliminate the astronauts of other players!
Board Design
The game is played on an 18“x18” symmetrical board with four home bases and 85 spaces. All Astronauts start the game in one of four home bases of the same color matching their tokens: Blue, green, red, or yellow. There are special spaces printed on the game board at equal intervals including twelve Safe Spaces, four Astronaut’s Choice spaces, and eight ALIEN Airshaft spaces. The home bases show movie stills based on the Astronauts(as opposed to the ALIEN life-cycle). The game is centered around the primary Objective which is to be the first player to get one of your three Astronauts into the Space Shuttle Narcissus at the center of the board.
Rules of Movement
The game is based on dice and movement. Two six-sided dice are rolled on a player’s turn. The player moves one of his three astronauts the full amount on the white die clockwise around the perimeter of the board. The player then moves their ALIEN token the full amount on the red die. If doubles are rolled, the player rolls both dice again for a free roll. A player can move the same Astronaut or a different one on a free roll. Only two free rolls are allowed on a turn. If all three of a player’s Astronauts are eliminated from the game, the player continues to roll both dice in an attempt to roll doubles for free rolls for his ALIEN. Any token can move through another token’s space. More than one Astronaut and ALIEN can occupy the same space. The Astronauts enter an inner corridor upon completing one full circuit around the board where they attempt to avoid ALIEN tokens to be the first Astronaut to escape to the Space Shuttle Narcissus in the center of the board. There are four special Astronaut’s Choice spaces. If an Astronaut ends his turn on one of those spaces, the player can move his token through the shortcut corridor on his next turn which consists of five spaces compared to twelve spaces around the perimeter. ALIEN’s can always use the shortcuts. ALIENS can exit the inner corridor on the same space they entered. If an ALIEN ends its turn on an Airshaft space, it can jump to any combination of the other seven airshaft spaces then continue its movement clockwise.
Rules of Elimination
An Astronaut cannot be eliminated by his own ALIEN. Astronauts are eliminated if they end their movement on a space occupied by an opponent’s ALIEN, or if an opponent’s ALIEN ends its movement on a space occupied by an Astronaut. An Astronaut cannot be eliminated by an ALIEN while on a Safe Space. However, if an Astronaut is the last to leave a Safe Space occupied by an opponent’s ALIEN token, the astronaut is eliminated.

I had this board game as a kid when it was released.
It's a good game. The gameplay holds up well even to this day. It always seems to go down to the wire as it should.

lol Thanx yeah the route they take around the perimeter is hard to understand at first the way they had to put the colored lines in that look like they block it around the outside. I had to draw it on a piece of paper. now it makes sense. plus you probably hadn't seen the movie so the movement of the aliens might not have made sense either. I hand't played it in a while I should break it out. it plays well solo.

Thanx for watching maddwoba! That's awesome I can share some more cool stuff you haven't seen before! Star Wars Epic Duels board game is probably next. I'm working on it now. I got it for $20 the day it came out in 2002. One in my condition goes for $80-100+ on the Internet now.

I wish I could get this game along with the recent ALIEN: The Fate of the Nostromo. It would be cool to have like a recorder or something that a button could be pressed to have the sounds from the Movie, like specific sound bytes.
Yeah that would be cool. Nostromo's a good game. Easier with 1-3 characters much more difficult with 4-5.
@@CollectionTHX1138 Well I guess the fun is playing with all the characters and with friends, though playing solo ain't that bad. Also, I think I would try and 3D print the figurines of the players to add them to the game too, though I do love the cardboard tokens this one has in a classical sense.
The game is basically a modified version of parcheesi. Used to play this with friends we would get into huge arguments when someone deliberately spare someone's astronaut and target another.
I never played Parcheesi. It's a classic game so that makes sense why this would play well. I've only played this solo which it does very well mechanically. But yes it would be a fun Take That game.
@@CollectionTHX1138 just google parcheesi and you will see how strikingly similar the game boards of the two are.
@@PungiFungi yeah I did. I haven't read any rules yet. it's one of those classic games like backgamon I never played.
@ 23:10 Yellow and @ 27:30 for Red, where you didn't take the turn and kept rolling around the outside of the board.

Thanx for the compliment. I have an aumesment park channel I'm uploading stuff on the season ends after halloween. I have a lot of game vids shot just not edited. I would have more done if I could simply talk in one take. I don't have that ability. and end up making a production out of it. example a Zombies!!! dice game is 30 minutes long(!)

one thing that bothered me is probably a sub who I don't know who sub'd for star wars voted thumbs down on the zombies card game just because it wasn't star wars. the thumbs down button discourages me for free video efforts.
I don't' make much adsense money on this particular channel so I have to finish vids when I can get to them or just not make such a production out of them which I can never not do. so yeah eventually those will be up.
Hey man I'll tell you, where i am in life is an almost kind of exit from what is trendy and hip...I like you more than likely was a huge comic fan, and Peter Parker was my idol, praying as a kid, "When i grow up im gonna get bit by a radioactive spider and fight crime like him!" Aahh to dream. Star Wars Epic Duels might be next. I have a bunch of collectible stuff shot but unfinished I'm anxious to share.

I had this game. And also a huge Alien action figure with a glow in the dark head and teeth that popped out. Why did they make these for kids?
That's what a mom questioned so Kenner and the stores succumbed ot the undue pressure and pulled the 18" kenner alien from the shelves. an irony is the kids on the box playing with it couldn't look happier lol to them it was just an alien it didn't matter what the movie was about. I mention that at 1 min 45 sec in my "KENNER ALIEN BOARD GAME How-to Play & 18“ Kenner ALIEN & Box Art Trivia | Collection THX1138" video. kenner made no reference to the gory or sexual stuff in the movie. I also show my alien in my video "H.R. Giger's ALIEN FILM DESIGN ART BOOK w 18" Kenner Alien 20th Century Fox | Collection THX1138" where the egg silo in his book is the shape kenner used on the alien packaging. thanx for the sub! I'm trying to get to 1,000 so I can remonetize the channel to make about $100 a year. I have a NERF Rival First Order Stormtrooper blaster I want ot uplaod soon.

@@seancody3195 oh yeah I know I took it as an opportunity to explain that yeah it's a legitimate question. the actual sculpt of the 18 in kenner alien is faithful to giger's original. it makes you wonder what they gave the kenner designers to go by.
