First use mage spells to improve own party, second to weaken opponents and third to do damage is one possibility to play a mage. I prefer the "fireball" attack mage: increase intelligence, piety, wizardry and fire magic as fast as possible. With two or three mages and powerful fireballs you can do a lot of damage before the opponents come into melee range. Other good attack spells are magic missiles, whipping rocks, noxious fumes and iceball. At level 10 you should have x-ray, element shield and enchanted blade. As always, human is a good race for mages, too.
Biggest stat for any caster aside from their primary is speed. nearly every enemy in this game has ridiculous speed, and if enemy casters are going first before your casters, your in for a real hard ride.
So far what I have experienced speed only reliable for me if walk/run I use, btw I feel the most robustic, solid one is int and together for pure caster. Piety for mana reserve. Long battles more casts (early on against solid knocking creatures like roustabouts and modais not bad to have some freeze flesh, nox fumes etc.)
A suggestion- if you're making guides for characters, it could be nice to mention what sort of gear you might want to equip that character with. You could for example mention in your rogue video that giving him Bloodlust from Arnika bank would make him deal insane damage. Maybe even make a dedicated video about gear and cool (not necessarily the best) combos, like monk + mindblast rod?
That's a really good idea! Have to think about whether to integrate this or make an extra video for the classes.. probably extra & arrange in playlists - so much to say about equip that combined videos are, I feel, too long to watch for the 'guide' category.

Super solid tips :)
Dracons make pretty good mages as well. Specially if you want to multi-class
Interesting! Thank you! I'll keep this in mind for when I'll multi-class :)

Yes, speed can be very good for initiative. It's a shame it doesn't do much for casters beside it.

Diamond epee is awesome for rogue, and its not cursed.

Да, я должен переосмыслить это, возможно. Мне очень нравятся эльфы из-за сопротивлений. Ваше здоровье!
