China Warrior is a beat-em-up for the PC Engine released in 1989. Set in China, it features a Bruce Lee expy, who ventures on to defeat the Dark Emperor atop Lu Hao Yang Castle. This game is notable for having really large sprites.
In this run, TaoTao ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) plays through the 3rd and hardest loop of the game (the in game code doesn't let you enter the 3rd loop unless you game over in the 2nd loop, which is why the author does it at the beginning). This movie obsoletes as a 40 second improvement from gameplay alone, mainly due to a "special attack" that happens if the player takes damage from the boss, making their next attack super powerful.

the reason this tas is longer than it’s predecessor (12:03) is because it presses start at the end screen, whereas the previous tas didn’t.

That moment in Stage 2 when you think "how is he deflecting knives by kicking them wouldn't they just stab his foot" and then you realize you had already accepted him kicking actual fire in Stage 1.

So the guy can insta-kick-kill entire legions of ninja monks, rocks, knives and giant flying fire sperms, but will die if touched by flying paper fans, butterflies or Y-shaped wooden sticks.
His training consist in breaking vases with nunchucku but he prefers going to war unarmed against hundreds of enemies.
Not too sure where to rank this guy in the food chain.

If you take a certain amount of hits you get to use special moves. Evidently the counter for specials stacks even if you die and can be rolled over in a new game. He took all the hits and started over to get the best special to kill the boss nearly instantly.

Dying at the beginning is required to get to the highest difficulty loop.

@@musashigundoh You get different specials depending on how much you get hit and don't attack. Three hits gives the "big fist" and the "zanretsuken" rapid punch move was more but I don't know how many. I didn't like relying on it, especially if you whiffed half the punches.
