This is still one of the most effective headlight reviews online. Shocking how many so called enthusiast reviewers totally ignore state of the art headlight technology.
You won't believe but i was working on these lights in person 😉 And yes Europe has a different version because of the laws, even much brighter! You'd like that one for sure
This kind of night time headlights review is 1000 times better than auto design talk.... too many times UA-cam auto reviewers waste so much of time to talk about car design that viewers don't really care about...
Great review. Not many videos on talking about the laser light. I like the details showing the sharp cut off and the cornering illumination. I ordered these for my M340i
I LOVE your lighting reviews!! Reminds me of the days of HID Planet (forum). By the way, just a small correction, but the highbeam when standing still doesn't use laserlights. Those are only active above 60km/h.
Dude, I envy you so much... I care about the lights the most when it comes to the quality of cars and this new tech truly kills it. I will hate driving my 2006 Fabia even more after observing your lights. Thanks for the video btw.
Really enjoyed your videos for both day and night driving. I just ordered my M4. The Icon laser light option I debated over but ended up selected that option. What I miss is the Night Vision option, when I ordered my 550 there was the Night Vision option, loved that option. I live in Austin and travel at night often in desolate areas, the NV was an excellent option, saved me a few times with wildlife entering the roadways. I wish that was an option, I would order it for every car.
I think you are wrong on the laser portion. These headlights have low and high LED lights, and the laser portion is "assist" only. From what I understand it never activates manually, it only activates in "auto" high beam mode, above certain speeds. The laser portion is just a far throwing spot beam, it throws twice as far as the leds, but its much narrower and kind of hard to see the difference.
The "laser" function here in the USA is applicable to the high beams only. Vehicle speed must be above 37 mph. Low and high beams are LED and the laser lights are switched on/off automatically when the high beams are in operation.
I am now watching this for the 2nd time. Very well done. Yesterday I just put down a deposit for my M4 so your video hits very close to home. I am now a subscriber.
I think you might’ve made a mistake supposedly the lasers don’t turn on until you’re going 40 miles an hour but double check me on that but that’s what I’ve been told I have an X5 with laser lights and I was told they don’t come on unless you’re going over 40 so I don’t know but I love your video.
Excellent content, congratulations! Would it be possible to make a video comparing the three types of automotive lighting? Halogena, HID and LED. I have a BMW with Bixenon and on the IIHS website it suggests that it has greater lighting power compared to the F30 Leds
USA models have the yellow laser sticker in the headlights. Seriously, why would they do this for a premium product? Here in Australia the yellow sticker does not exist thankfully.
curious to ask if there is a function to turn off lights all together? know a lot of new car's with daytime running lights have no way to turn off the lights if need be.
I don’t think they’re the same “laser” lights here that they are in Europe. That function wasn’t approved for the US, though dealerships still brag about them.
BMW in their infinite wsdom elimianted the corning lights on the 23 430 Grand Coupe. If there's one car that desprately needs corning lights it's the 430
Dang that’s tough. I haven’t been able to see all of them at night…the Tiguan is intriguing though I can’t remember what it’s ambient lighting is like lol
Its called anti dazzle and it can be coded to have the function enable. Besically in NA this function is disabled do to DOT restrictions. When a lazer light kicks in when traveling 60km/h + and no upcoming traffic in erope it will hit 600m in NA its a bit less but honestly you wont tell the difference. Anyways anti dazzle coding is a must for everyone with lazer headlights this is when those lights shine and its hibeam at all times

Can you please advise if Australian models are fitted with brighter euro or usa lights?
I love the purple ambient light
Me too!
I wish more people review a night driving and a headlights performance more.
All that with the top down in the summer at night omg!!! Beautiful
I use to go to that middle school hahah! Awesome video

Those light are wild looking!!
Great review. Not many videos on talking about the laser light. I like the details showing the sharp cut off and the cornering illumination. I ordered these for my M340i
Great choice! the shape of the headlights looks so much cooler with the laser option. Wish I would’ve gotten that on my m340

I had Hid retro do a s2K projector retrofit for me back on my accord. It was dank

I love the light, It is the best in the market
One of the nicest cars I’ve ever seen 👍🏼

I just ordered mine too and it is scheduled for production, how long did it take yours to begin production after you ordered it?

He definitely didn't have the laser function working. He was never driving fast enough for them to function
Correct. Not sure he fired the lasers.
Here's a great review to see them compared to other cars ua-cam.com/video/iElE9_RFDGA/v-deo.html

Great review - thanks - can you do black panel as saab used to do and have minimal interior lights to maximise night vision
really appreciate the night reviews - very helpful...thank you!
Another great review Nolan. You've definitely become my favorite reviewer. Awesome car by the way!
Thank you very much!
@@PrimeAutotainment they have updated the law so now adaptive LED headlights can be available on new vehicles like Europe has for many years

The more complex lights are supposed to be cleared for use in the US within the next year (part of the infrastructure bill that passed last month).
Good to know!
Love the POV angle and the interior lighting is sick af. Thank you
Everything is so frikin nice

you should show the welcome light carpet as well in the review
Nice review! What color do I liike more? No lights, I prefer turned off, but if I have to choose one I will say red or orange.

Wow....what .a car. I want your job. Is there a daytime review video?
It will be coming later this week 👍👍
And in Irealnd above 100km they brighten more. They are slow to go back to high beam.
really like that these features are standard on a porsche macan, but only ~$600 for an upgrade even further past this
More Night Videos please.
Lighting is amazing!!!
In the US, Laser function only works above approx 40nph with high beam correct?

The m340i has nice winged shaped puddle lights.
It’s strange that the M4 doesn’t have this.
Great............I just bought one !
Sharp!!
I want one!!!

Hello Nolan, how aré you?

Great review - but overkill on the headlights.
What would you consider to be the best deal for a cheaper suv with ambient lighting? Tiguan?
Dang that’s tough. I haven’t been able to see all of them at night…the Tiguan is intriguing though I can’t remember what it’s ambient lighting is like lol
Good
I was curious if anyone knew what cars in 2022 are coming with Laser light technology in the US? Just the German cars?
What about all the plastic parts BMW uses in the engine, are they still using them?
Every car manufacturer uses plastic. It's cheap and lightweight.

As an Audi owner in Canada I'm really said that Audi matrix headlight has been deactivated in North America...
No kidding!
You never once used the laser lights?
There is so much tech on these laserlights that the insurance company is going to be dancing on the owners front lawn when one of them goes off....
🔥
What color Red is this? Exclusive Imola?
Nothing impressive with those Laser lights.
ew convertible so ugly
W r in 2022 not 70’s and and why the fuck bmw still her interior lights are orange not white
Because the fuck they are just trying to piss you off! The red is BMW tradition like the Hoffmeister kinks.
Try again BMW.
