That's exactly how you drive on the roads in South Africa at night. If you go underneath an underpass you always enter slow and exit fast having changed lanes. Criminals drop huge boulders onto cars so that the vehicles crash out and can be easily robbed.

Years ago I had a gf that was South African and she told me people would sit a baby in the middle of the road and when someone stopped they would ambush and rob them.

​@drewjames8594 in iraq the enemy would put woman w children out in the streets when we come by...if we stop we would then be blown up and the convoy ambushed...thenstandard quickly became to drive thru the area no matter what, and stop for nothing!!

They do this in Denmark too. In 2016 a german woman in a car was killed with a 30kg concrete block while driving through an underpass. DNA from the concrete has since been found elsewhere, but still no-one has been found guilty.

I worked on OCONUS security contracts after I retired from 2012-2017. All of the programs, no matter who the client was, had turned to garbage by the time I got started in the field. ALL the programs- yes, even the "good" ones. From what the "old timers" told me, If it wasn't for the pay (which was good) the programs would not have lasted after nisour square in 2007.

Yes, two dudes tried to place an 'object' under our vehicle. The part they were trying to fasten to was extruded aluminum (non-ferrous). My driver chased them a ways. Haifa Street, FOB Steel Dragon. OIF 2. 122°
