I do not agree. He is giving completely false information. Once i completely eliminated oil from my food. After some days, pain started in my arms and i went to see an orthopedic doctor. He prescribed some pain killer which gave me some temporary relief. After the effect of pain killer was over, there was pain again. Then i realised that something happened because of elimination of oul from my diet. Believe me i started taking oil again. The pain was over in next day

I read a lot of comments and most are misguided. First of all our body doesn't require any oil intake other than what is available naturally, and the Doctor is absolutely correct. When the food is cooked in oil it doesn't add any taste but it makes the food rich. When the food is rich you feel satisfied and hence you think that oil adds to the taste. Some others wrote that we need fat to absorb micronutrients, but what is needed is good fat that is derived naturally from food, when you eat nuts, that has a lot of good fat. Ignorance is bliss.
Low your consumption of oil , Try to use original cold pressed oil according to your state / region, fully avoid refined oil.Sure oil has different taste that's why in odisha, West Bengal & north east we even add particularly raw mustard oil on our food because of it own taste.

There are essential fatty acids which we get from cold pressed oils. Oils do have taste.
