Here's How To Tell If Your Car Wheels Are Straight

  • In this video, I show you a way to tell if your car wheels are straight. It's a simple process that involves turning the steering wheel all the way to one side, and then one and a half turns in the opposite direction to straighten the car wheels. Ideally, you should look at your wheels before entering the car to ensure that they're straight, but this method can be used if you're already inside of your car and don't want to get out to look at the wheels.

    I stopped driving due to an accident and now I want to go back and regain my confidence. I again started watching driving lesson videos as if I'm going to take a test. I want to get rid of my nerves but every time I sit on the driver's seat and just starting the car makes my heart leaps out my chest. Your videos make the relearning much more exciting. I want to drive as if a new driver so I wont remember that day. thank you.

    NOTE:
    3 turns: lock left/right
    1.5 turn: straight wheel
    no proper direction:
    lock either left/right and do 1.5 turn

    Alternatively, you could do what you’re supposed to do, and make sure you straighten the wheels whilst parking the car, and whilst the car is moving. Then whenever you get into the car, you know the wheels are straight already. I thought that’s common sense?
    Whenever I see a car parked somewhere, with the wheels turned all the way to the right or left, I just think, wow that’s lazy!

    Thank you so much for your tips! Please don't change your intro (The "Hey Everybodyyyy" makes my day). Can you do a video on how to not drive in the middle of a two way street (how to stay in the right/left lane) if there are no yellow/white lines. If there are no oncoming cars and if there are no lines in the middle, I tend to instinctually sway towards the middle of the street due to my fear of crashing/scratching the parked cars' side mirrors. Thank you- your videos are helpful and very much appreciated!

    People should simply try and park with their wheels straight and not just in any position before figuring out later how they did it. It's that simple. I can understand when this becomes an issue when you are reversing and get confused as to how many turns you have gone etc

    • @shathaomar1516
      @shathaomar1516 6 років тому

      This is exactly where I get confused. If I reversed without counting the turns. In my car, it's two turns. Then when I turn the wheel back ..I forget!! :-)

  • @stevexie2705

    I don't think an experienced driver will need this tbh. To straighten the wheel you simply turn the wheel in the opposite direction that the car is going.
