It’s so true - we were prepared for 2020 by the revelations the president had and new initiatives the church put into place just in time. Truly testimony building in its prescience.

I would honestly probably serve a mission right now if they made something full-time in my area. My patriarchal blessing says I should serve "full-time in my young life" however I don't see how that's ever going to be possible in my situation unless they change how they do missions. They should make full-time missions available in our areas or have us be online missionaries. I'd love to stay at home all day and message and Skype with investigators, invite them over feed and teach them in my apartment. It would be a lot easier to keep relationships up after the missions term because the investigators are easily accessible to be communicated with. A lot of older people in the church don't trust younger people to do what they should, but honestly the controlling way missions have been run doesn't help missionaries make choices for themselves, mostly it just has them temporarily conform for the missions length and then missionaries go back to fishing like Peter after their missions so to speak. Not everyone in the church grows up with supportive families and opportunities to make a lot of money to save up for a mission. It's really frustrating having God expect this of me, when it doesn't seem possible with how things are now. I have an apartment full of furniture that I would have to give up to serve a mission. I would literally have to give away almost everything that I own just to go. It would make a lot more sense if I could stay home and serve here, especially during this COVID-19 time. My apartment is second to the temple, I only have religious and beautiful landscape artwork hanging up and it's a great environment. I don't really see why it's necessary to go to a different part of the world to serve when you can just do it from home.

What is holding you back from sending in your papers? Is it a financial situation? does the church lack resources in your country? There are many, many ways of serving and the church will never tell you that you cannot serve due to a financial situation.
