You can 100% use this for saltwater. Im about 50/50 fresh/salt and haven't had any issues. There are no metal parts so don't need to worry about salt issues.
I haven't had the Tan one for long, but it seems like it holds up to dirt really well. If you look at Zachs grey one, it looks pretty good for being 3-4 years old.

I just tested my 14in and there is plenty of wiggle room. I believe a 16in will fit based on the extra space.

Yes it will! I recently used the fishpond straps to take a rod to Montana with me!
Does it come with the lubricant for the zippers? How often do you have to do that. I am about to order the tan version.
