Hahaha I'm so glad!!! To be honest, I was just filming them and needed a place to put my videos because I was running out of space on my old laptop🤣 I just rewatch my old videos over and over when my birds aren't going through a moult hahahahahaha I thought I was the only one before 🤣 but I'm so happy others like this too!
Like just getting them pin feathers off is so gratifying!! I wait patiently to see this content bc I love seeing your birds happy it is getting done to them. ❤😌
Aww, buddy! 🥰 I hear the three budgies in the other room, and I think I hear two green cheek conures too? It's so lovely to see a cockatiel enjoy his loves so much even if he's grumpy because itchy.
I just wanted to let you know that seeing CinCin so relaxed and happy put me to sleep. And yes I'm serious. So thank you very much for sharing your adorable and sweet little boy.
It's lovely to see how much Cincin trusts you. I never knew about pinfeathers until I found your channel and I feel bad that I was never able to help the budgie we had when I was younger.
You don’t need to feel bad at all 😊 Most ppl can’t do this for their budgies and I didn’t either. It’s best to let another bird do it or use your fingers like this :)😊😊😊
Aw, Cincin is so sweet! He sure enjoyed getting his head and neck rubbed. This reminds of my cockatiel Burt. He loved getting his head rubs. My budgies just got done molting. 🩶💛🧡
For real, cockatiels are the equivalent of cats in the bird world 😅 They will have you scritch them in places that THEY want to, and will bite and hiss at you for doing something that seems wrong in their eyes 😂
🤣🤣🤣 yea!!! They're not afraid to let you know exactly what they want. Sometimes I call them the Canada geese of the bird world🤣 but then again that's redundant hahaha!
I just love watching these! I'm not 100% sure why, though. I'm not a pet bird person. I guess I like seeing how much he enjoys it, and how gentle you are with him and how much he trusts you. The first time i saw one of these videos, i thought "Who would want to watch that?" Now I can't scroll past one. 😅 Thank you ❤
Oh my, that's so wonderful to watch! ❤ All of my budgies are moulting right now and one of them always has a hard time to get rid of the pinfeathers on her head but she won't let me help her. :( Your birds are so lucky.
Aaww!! Poor birdie :) sometimes spraying them with a mister can help with those itchy pinfeathers! Do you also have some wooden clothespins you can put inside the cage? The square edges can give her relief if she rubs her head against it for relief. You can also try maybe using some blunt tweezers? You can start off very slow, let her get used to the presence of tweezers, and approach her slowly, stopping if she looks nervous. At first, just gently rub the tip of the tweezers against her cheeks and see if she's receptive.
Çok teşekkür ederim❤️ pes etmeyin :) kuşunuz sonunda ona dokunmanıza izin verecektir. Sadece yanlarında kalın ve onlarla her gün oyun oynayın :D kuşlar akıllıdır ve sevginizi bileceklerdir.
Showed this to hubby - his first comment was "oh no isn't that cockatiel sitting on a TV - all those bits will fall in" 😂😂😂 Yeah parrot, cockatiel & budgie dust were common features in our house on nce😂😂😂
Ok I'm getting a bird now! Had them when I was young. My daughter has a green cheek conure. I have fish cats and ill get more animals after i recover from surgery. My two huge oscars take a lot of work and then my smaller tank. I miss my farm because I had just about every animal you can have on 4 acres including my horse. Got divorced and there went everything. The hardest was my welsh pony. I can't think about him too much because Im afraid ill have a nervous breakdown.
Oh I'm so sorry about your farms nd divorce😢 I hope you're doing very well! Congrats on raising 2 Oscars! Fish are so difficult to keep and take a lot of work :). I recommend not to get birds if you have cats! The cats may not react well and the birds will be stressed with the presence of a predator. Not to mention, you'll have to separate them, which in my experience, people just keep the birds in a cage and a room without much room to navigate. Working alongside a vet, I saw many cat inflicted injuries on people's parrots - many parrots sadly passed away. I, too, when I was young, thought I could change my sister's cat (who came after my birds) but after 8 years together of "being friends", my sister's cat snapped, attacked and almost killed one of my budgies. She (my budgie) came out with grievous injuries. Not to mention, birds are highly social and intelligent creatures! They'll definitely need more of your attention than other mammals :).
@@pinfeathersgalore You're absolutely right. I just went brain dead when I saw this! LOL and my service cat would certainly not allow me to have a bird! That would end in tragedy! Thanks for getting my brain back! Xoxo
I love this channel- I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now but this is the first one I’ve found that really matches what I was looking for. I have a crimson belly conure who occasionally allows me to groom her but mostly wants my daughter to do it. I did have cockatiels once upon a time- the boy was like Cincin, wanted those head rubs, wanted you to do it exactly his way the entire time 😂❤ thank you for uploading!
Welcome! So happy you came💗💗 I was looking for these types of videos for a long time too, but haven't found any in the decade I've been looking for so I finally decided to make my own so I can keep rewatching 🤣. And I'm so happy I did!! Conure pinfeathers are so, so crunchy!! I have a hard time getting them off with tweezers. Crimson bellied conures are gorgeous! What is your parrot's name?
I have a question about pin feathers or whatever you call em, dose it hurt when you pluck it out? And what’s the best way to removing it, people use toothbrushes, tweezers, fingers, chopsticks and other stuff and it looked all painful lol. I’m curious on what’s the safest way to remove them and would a moist warm toothbrush do the trick too or is that not good for the bird?- I don’t own a bird and not planning on getting one I’m just interested
These are great questions! Yes, you're right, they're called Pinfeathers, and they're also known as bloodfeathers. I'm taking the outer old keratin (the dander like thing) layer around the growing feather, to let the feather out. Usually when it's growing the pinfeather is full of blood and is painful to touch. But when it's white and dried out, then it didn't hurt to open up the sheath. It's like letting a butterfly come out of the cocoon :). I think the best way to remove these is to "crack" them open with a friendly bird. Haha. But even then sometimes my birds can hurt each other when they're preening! I tried using toothbrushes and mascara wands, but those sometimes don't work because the sheath is too hard. In my opinion, tweezers work the best because they have the pressure that allows me to crack open the sheath, they are very accurate (my fingers are too fat), and they allow me to mimic the motions of a bird doing it to another bird :). Sometimes people like to do a spray bottle on the mist setting and spray their birds before. I usually give my birds baths once a week or 2 during the winter, more often during the spring/summer/autumn but I don't usually preen them afterwards. It just depends on when the bird wants me to :).
Evet!! Çok ve çok! fakat insanlardan farklı bir kepek türüdür. tüm kuşlarda var bunlar :) büyüdüğünde yeni tüyü koruyor ve yeni tüy kuruyup olgunlaştığında pul pul dökülüyor!
