The thing I hate the most on Nuke is the radar. Since it has 3 floors, if my team isn't communicating, I can't see what's going on just by glancing at the radar. For example, once I had to clutch as a T and looked for the C4 on the radar. I went mini and underground by the vents, but it was actually on top of mini. So I lost to time.
I use a GT 730 (One of the cheapest Nvidia graphics cards) and I can run Nuke at 50fps on Medium to High settings. I don't understand what peoples issue is with the map honestly.

If you are On A, distinguishing Going B ramp and Heaven are haard. When heaven it's hard to know if someone is site a or B. When listening for lobby it is hard to tell if they are on floor level or roof. Yes My headphones are fine, it is simply bad audio design.
For CT's, this new version of nuke requires a lot more co-ordination to play well. Upper is going to be a lot harder to hold, and Lower is going to be a fair bit harder to retake. Decon control is going to be even more important for taking and holding Lower. And I'm probably going to get myself killed a few times when entrying onto A, because now my muscle memory is going to have me pre-aiming/pre-firing a patch of sheet-metal wall where there once was Hut window.
Man, prior to quitting the game (due to the people I play with switching over to r6) I loved nuke. It was the only map I really enjoyed playing, and while I agree that those changes are in theory good, I'm scared it'll take away the uniqueness of the map.

I think A is a little too multi angle heavy atm; all the best sites in cs:go that everyone loves have at most 3-4 angles to clear at the same time that are close together, and usually a single smoke can cut that number in half; A you have to clear spots on the ground and also directly above and behind you at the same time or die, and it's not really possible to put a smoke between you and those positions due to the differing heights. I think having the two rafters on CT side only, perhaps even bringing back the full site length one on the CT side wall, would be better than having the third one above hut, it and the crane for no apparent reason still being there makes it feel like you're relying more on luck than skill when clearing it. My favorite version of A site nuke I've played so far was a fan made experiment that connected radio with the back of A site, and moved hut into the corner where vent ladder is, giving T's 2 ways into A without having to challenge outside or B ramp awpers, though a smoke was needed to block the B ramp-radio awper; it just felt 'right' to me. Possibly because in most maps taking middle, in this case A site, gives you the most rotation power. This meant that whoever held A site had fast rotates to B open to them, similar to how holding middle on dust or mirage does, and it made going A both less impossible without a bajillion nades AND gave CT's a stronger reason to hold it other than it being a site, leading to less campy outside or radio play that just didn't feel very fun. Basically the problems I have with nuke are that there are far too many spots to sit and snipe from, and there is no "short to A" or "alt-mid" that maps like dust and inferno have, forcing you to have to smoke out awps hard. On the other previously mentioned maps you still have to do this to take 2/3 of the entrances cleanly, but it's nearly impossible to smoke out the ramp awper without also smoking your own team or getting shot, and requires 3-5 well placed smokes to block outside properly, which still leaves cat to peer over your smokes if you so much as think tall thoughts. Side note: that map also switched the door into mini towards the T side, which meant that an awper has to push right up to garage if they want to hold mini/squeaky instead of just outside/secret, which I also thought was great, as mini has always felt to me like it only really benefits defenders of the site in most situations. Ironically the map was still CT sided out of all the games I played (comp rules), though that might have been a placebo from the confidence boost that being on CT side nuke has. Overall I quite like nuke, and always have, despite it being imbalanced because I like the vertical aspect it has. I agree that re-adding the semi-skill jump is kinda pointless; I've not once messed up that jump when it mattered as far as I could tell, to me it always felt kinda pointless outside of casual matches where half the people can't do it. I also love the removal of that frickin' window, anything to make this map less awp-city is a plus in my book. I've not yet had very much experience with the new boxes in B; usually if our team has taken B the remaining CT's come from vent or secret as we prefer pushing radio over pushing outside. *TLDR,* I don't like not being able to smoke the two entrances that are easy to hold with an awp, and don't like having to work even harder to smoke the only outside part that can be smoked properly, But I like most of the changes in this version compared to the previous one, with the exceptions being the silly half skill jump and the fact that crane is just a mess.
I’ve always found it pretty easy to figure out where footsteps are. But dear god, I cannot fucking tell what bombsite the beeping of the bomb is coming from. I can think of so many times both my teammates and I have retook the B bombsite only to find it was on A the whole time. And vice versa. It’s so stupid.
That's the intire point of Nuke, the fact that you have to constantly figure out where a sound came from adds to the flavour of this map. It's what makes it unique.
This is the first time I’ve actually enjoyed playing nuke, it’s so much more fluid than it used to be. I no longer get frustrated simply moving around the map. Also, I’m enjoying canals as a serious map. It’s a lot more fun now that the t rrrush strat was nerfed. They do need to remove one window on the bridge site so the t-side only has to expect shots from that one place since it is very difficult to see in those windows that are covered in that stone. I think it was Adren (the NA streamer one playing for Mythic) who said that making lower bombsite a different material (ie under construction so its stone or something) would fix the sound issue some people are havin, it would be pretty darn good of a change imo.
The first song is from DKC 2 "Swamp map", then around 2:45 I think that's a Chrono Trigger one, but after short while it turns into DKC 2 again with the "disco music" aka the rollercoaster map. Stickerbrush Symphony indeed plays after 5:42. After all I can never forget the music from DKC 2, as it was part of my childhood :)
I think this nuke is better than the previous nuke, after playing both (I'm talking about the remastered) I've had most of my friends complain solely about the framerate issues and "I can't figure out where they are coming from!" Which, in my eyes shows their lack of knowledge/understanding of the map. The catwalk outside was an extreme hotspot, at least in mm, and if you held that area you tended to get at least 1-3 kills before being taken down. With that area no longer in the picture, it feels a LOT easier to push outside, which I genuinely enjoy. Most mms I've done involve rushing secret/ramp to hit B. As B is a far easier site to hold in comparison to A on previous Nuke. Now it feels totally viable to have some outside, push through mini and get intel on A, where the rest of the Ts can push through squeaky/hut and take A efficiently. The only issue I've noticed with this, is there is a severe lack of ability to get to Heaven without being EXTREMELY EXPOSED to anyone playing ramp. The newbox on Nuke seems extremely overpowered, as you can hide behind it at full health and cornercamp it to win site/stay alive without any effort. Other than those 2 complaints, I think Nuke is going in the right direction.
Exactly my thought ! Most people including pro players have shown their dislike towards these changes. But I like them a lot, even thought I can never find a game on de_nuke. The outside railing was a strong CT sided object. It clears the stuff now and terrorists have a good chance with clear visibility. Only thing needed is to change the floor type to distinguish between sounds between the two floors.

New Dust makes unimportant details disappear on low settings. If Valve could add a similar feature to Nuke, Train and Inferno, I think many players would be happy.
It's great that they cleaned it so much as it helps the player better focus on a couple of things at the start rather than a multitude of them. I don't see why they removed the rail for the jump as it wasn't a spot of confrontation. The windows up top are great as it does better for surprising enemies rather than the glass shattering and giving them time to react appropriately. Not so sure about heaven not having a ladder on A, if anything maybe it could've been repositioned somewhere else as the angel in heaven makes guarding multiple angels much easier. The walkway in heaven does need adjustment. The no window is nice as you can guard within hut now without constantly having to watch you're back. The doors at B are fine even toxic so long as you make sure they're closed, cause the moment a player opens them it gives them away and makes finding and shooting them down much easier. If concern is too many angels to watch it may be best to guard the bomb from the catwalk in B or the new Boxes so as to have the player guessing where you could be if they are hiding behind doors. Honestly with the cleaning they did it's nice as it helps in better seeing what you need to see the only thing Nuke needs then is an adjustment to it's audio, and I know it'll be hard to have audio sound like it's coming from above especially with so many people having a variety of ways they have their audio set up but having at the very least different sounding footsteps when you enter the B site area or A site can help clue both sides where is the player. Because one thing that puts me more on edge and confuses me is when I footsteps and I can't tell if it's from my teammate or the player on the site above or below switching. Kind of dumb to be punished when the audio qs don't give me reliable info. If the player uses the audio to trick me about where they're coming from good on them I should've been prepared but if I get taken out all cause what I heard was wrong due to the fact I can't tell if they're on the same floor as me then that's not cool.
Number 1 thing, imo, is the sound.. Make the bottom level another texture, dirt (like a digging site for a silo or something), wood (maybe a storage area, idk). Something to make it easier to differentiate where players are more easily.

Haaa that Canals bit at the end! LOL And I totally agree with you on your last statement. People with crap PCs should quit. I sadly fell into this category using a Dell laptop with Intel Integrated HD graphics....I got sooo frustrated with the game due to not being able to utilize good fps that I eventually just stopped playing. :/ However I refused to stay content and built a gaming pc and very much enjoy the game again in addition to its new map changes. :)
One thing not mentioned is the ladder on A being a casualty of the Crane removal. I feel like CTs retaking A from Heaven becomes almost a no-brainer, as they no longer need to be ware of Ts on heaven and rafters. Ts wanting to check outside near CT spawn after planting A had two options (rafters and mini), and if they now want to avoid mini, they have to run back around the entire map.
Played a soloq MM on nuke last night, and I don't know if it was because I actually had good teammates, but the game was really fun even though we lost. It definitely felt more fluid and enjoyable to play on both sides of the map.
You should try to play the new canals.. the change they made are pretty good and every time i play the map i had a LOT of fun and every game on that map was different. Just think about all the way you have for defend or retake b site. You should try the map now and work all together for make this map better. Because valve will push this map on competitive 100%
Next time just remove everything that makes Nuke an unique map. Delete rafters, heaven, ladder, hut, vents and turn it into a generic plain bare bones map with absolutely nothing special.
I personally love the toxic room, u have to commit as a team to put a member in toxic room and play 2v3. If u lose all duels then it's 1v3 from toxic which is unwinnable. So either in a round u have dominated and put a guy in toxic to guarantee or its a 1v x and probably fucked or your team has to work hard post plant to prevent the toxic player being put in an awful position. The map in general I love and have always loved it, I don't the current versions are majorly better or worse but that Cs itself has changed against this style of map which is why such hostility to the map exist.
i think they should bring back the old skill jump on silo from new nuke remastered. also maybe remove all the railings and the crane and all the extra stuff.
I like the outside and A site now, they make sense. B site, however, is awful for both teams, way too many spots to check. Also ramp is still quite unused part of the map imo - one molly or smoke blocks it completely and it hard to get the control of it as a T without losing like two players. So what I'd like to see is to simplify the B site a lot, like removing one access point(or toxic room) and the catwalk going around it. And the other change is to make the ramp more accessible by widening the chokepoints and maybe changing the layout a bit (boxes).
aaaargl getting to those positions is important on all levels of skill, so having to make a skilljump will make the map different depending on your skill level, it would be as if the position behind the skilljump doesn't exist for the low skill players. Which would shift the balance of the map depending on your skill level, so it's obviously good that they removed it
i have to disagree. in the first version of nuke in csgo you could get onto the silo in 3 different ways. at the beginning of a round you had a time advantage if you could strafe jump onto it, instead of having to climb around or getting boosted. therefore just a time-advantage for the better moving player, not a total shift in balance.
yeah im not a fan of spots like the old nuke skill jump... I like skill jumps that allow huge shortcuts to take players by surprise... like the window to short jump on mirage. If a place can be reached via skill jump only I dont like it... just my opinion :D

I love when maps get simplified as well, nuke is just way better now, i actually enjoy playing it now. Love your mentality about maps, keep up the map related videos, might be the only way they actually change the game the way players want.

Nuke is just too confusing with directional sound. It's very difficult to tell where your opponent is and the amount of corners is far too great.
That's why it's a fun one to play as a break from the other maps. I have to be in the right mood for Nuke.

I have absolutely loved Nuke for years. Such a huge map with different spots to hide. The sound ques are amazing. Probably my favorite map actually.

I always found this map had terrible sound. Having staked bomb sites, it was hard to hear where the enemy was.
i found occlusion made it easier to discern, and it also helps to memorize what sound each surface makes

Train's fine, but it - like all Valve's revamps - uses the HD art-style, which incorporates a lot of detail. Anything to boost FPS is a good thing.
It's great that they cleaned it so much as it helps the player better focus on a couple of things at the start rather than a multitude of them. I don't see why they removed the rail for the jump as it wasn't a spot of confrontation. The windows up top are great as it does better for surprising enemies rather than the glass shattering and giving them time to react appropriately. Not so sure about heaven not having a ladder on A, if anything maybe it could've been repositioned somewhere else as the angel in heaven makes guarding multiple angels much easier. The walkway in heaven does need adjustment. The no window is nice as you can guard within hut now without constantly having to watch you're back. The doors at B are fine even toxic so long as you make sure they're closed, cause the moment a player opens them it gives them away and makes finding and shooting them down much easier. If concern is too many angels to watch it may be best to guard the bomb from the catwalk in B or the new Boxes so as to have the player guessing where you could be if they are hiding behind doors. Honestly with the cleaning they did it's nice as it helps in better seeing what you need to see the only thing Nuke needs then is an adjustment to it's audio, and I know it'll be hard to have audio sound like it's coming from above especially with so many people having a variety of ways they have their audio set up but having at the very least different sounding footsteps when you enter the B site area or A site can help clue both sides where is the player. Because one thing that puts me more on edge and confuses me is when I footsteps and I can't tell if it's from my teammate or the player on the site above or below switching. Kind of dumb to be punished when the audio qs don't give me reliable info. If the player uses the audio to trick me about where they're coming from good on them I should've been prepared but if I get taken out all cause what I heard was wrong due to the fact I can't tell if they're on the same floor as me then that's not cool.

Number 1 thing, imo, is the sound.. Make the bottom level another texture, dirt (like a digging site for a silo or something), wood (maybe a storage area, idk). Something to make it easier to differentiate where players are more easily.

I sadly fell into this category using a Dell laptop with Intel Integrated HD graphics....I got sooo frustrated with the game due to not being able to utilize good fps that I eventually just stopped playing. :/
However I refused to stay content and built a gaming pc and very much enjoy the game again in addition to its new map changes. :)
One thing not mentioned is the ladder on A being a casualty of the Crane removal. I feel like CTs retaking A from Heaven becomes almost a no-brainer, as they no longer need to be ware of Ts on heaven and rafters. Ts wanting to check outside near CT spawn after planting A had two options (rafters and mini), and if they now want to avoid mini, they have to run back around the entire map.
Fact: Toxic will be removed next month.

Played a soloq MM on nuke last night, and I don't know if it was because I actually had good teammates, but the game was really fun even though we lost. It definitely felt more fluid and enjoyable to play on both sides of the map.

Just think about all the way you have for defend or retake b site. You should try the map now and work all together for make this map better. Because valve will push this map on competitive 100%

Next time just remove everything that makes Nuke an unique map. Delete rafters, heaven, ladder, hut, vents and turn it into a generic plain bare bones map with absolutely nothing special.

I personally love the toxic room, u have to commit as a team to put a member in toxic room and play 2v3. If u lose all duels then it's 1v3 from toxic which is unwinnable. So either in a round u have dominated and put a guy in toxic to guarantee or its a 1v x and probably fucked or your team has to work hard post plant to prevent the toxic player being put in an awful position. The map in general I love and have always loved it, I don't the current versions are majorly better or worse but that Cs itself has changed against this style of map which is why such hostility to the map exist.
Removing the skill-jump from Heaven is really good for exactly the reasons specified in the vid.

I like the outside and A site now, they make sense. B site, however, is awful for both teams, way too many spots to check. Also ramp is still quite unused part of the map imo - one molly or smoke blocks it completely and it hard to get the control of it as a T without losing like two players. So what I'd like to see is to simplify the B site a lot, like removing one access point(or toxic room) and the catwalk going around it. And the other change is to make the ramp more accessible by widening the chokepoints and maybe changing the layout a bit (boxes).
I wish they left cat walk alone and if they had to change it just make it shorter.

aaaargl getting to those positions is important on all levels of skill, so having to make a skilljump will make the map different depending on your skill level, it would be as if the position behind the skilljump doesn't exist for the low skill players. Which would shift the balance of the map depending on your skill level, so it's obviously good that they removed it
i have to disagree. in the first version of nuke in csgo you could get onto the silo in 3 different ways. at the beginning of a round you had a time advantage if you could strafe jump onto it, instead of having to climb around or getting boosted. therefore just a time-advantage for the better moving player, not a total shift in balance.
Yeah, I agree that just a small time advantage is ok, I was just saying that having that area available ONLY using the skilljump would be bad
yeah im not a fan of spots like the old nuke skill jump... I like skill jumps that allow huge shortcuts to take players by surprise... like the window to short jump on mirage. If a place can be reached via skill jump only I dont like it... just my opinion :D
