  • Inside The $20 Million Airbus ACH175 Private Helicopter
    0:00 - Intro
This is the Airbus ACH175, an aircraft that brings together years of aeronautical innovation and cutting-edge engineering to redefine what a medium-twin helicopter can do. Stay with us till the end of the video because here is everything you need to know about the Airbus ACH175.
    1:29 - Cabin
Step into the cabin, and you'll find an expansive space thanks in part to the aircraft's overall dimensions, but also to Airbus's clever use of design elements that capitalize on interior real estate. The cabin is capable of accommodating up to 12 passengers in executive configurations.
The seats are articulated with multiple adjustment functionalities that cater to a passenger’s every need for comfort.
When it comes to technology, the cabin features an advanced In-Flight Entertainment system with capabilities for both audio and video on demand. The aircraft is equipped with satellite communication systems and an emergency locator transmitter.
A noteworthy feature is its noise-reduction technology. Airbus has integrated the Fenestron shrouded tail rotor and the Helionix avionics system to significantly minimize acoustic emissions.
The climate control system maintains a consistent temperature and humidity level throughout the cabin, irrespective of external weather conditions. This is accomplished through a sophisticated Environmental Control System that circulates filtered and conditioned air.
The ACH175 features multiple storage options to accommodate luggage and equipment. Overhead compartments are designed for smaller items, while a dedicated rear baggage hold of 75 cubic feet or 2,120 liters offers ample space for larger bags and gear. For executive flights, additional amenities can include a mini-bar, coffee machine, and lavatory, depending on configuration.
    4:12 - Cockpit
The first impression as you step into the cockpit is one of ergonomic brilliance. A generously spacious layout of about 85.3 square feet or 8 square meters awaits. The seating accommodates two pilots, and the space is built to reduce fatigue on long-haul missions.
At the heart of the cockpit is a fully integrated glass panel that includes four 6 x 8-inch displays that serve as the PFD and MFD.
The ACH175 comes equipped with Airbus' state-of-the-art Helionix avionics suite. One standout feature is the First Limit Indicator, which presents a real-time, integrated display of the helicopter's operational status.
The Helionix suite also includes a comprehensive FMS. From pre-loaded VFR and IFR charts to real-time weather updates, the FMS ensures pilots have the tools they need for seamless flight planning and execution.
Equipped with dual VHF radios, HF radios, and Mode S transponders, it assures robust and reliable communication. Its navigation suite includes GPS with WAAS/LPV capabilities.
Traffic Collision Avoidance System, Synthetic Vision System, and Helicopter Terrain Avoidance and Warning System all come standard. Moreover, the cockpit incorporates energy-absorbing seats and a crash-resistant fuel system designed to exceed the latest safety standards.
6:22 - Engine, Performance Specs, and Flying Experience
Now, let’s talk about the engine, performance specifications, and how it flies. Starting with the engine, the ACH175 is powered by two PT6C-67E engines developed by Pratt & Whitney Canada. Each engine pumps out approximately 1,775 shaft horsepower, enabling the aircraft to achieve a maximum rate of climb of about 1,500 feet per minute or 457 meters per minute. The TBO for these powerplants is set at a competitive 4,000 hours. The full-fuel payload comes in at around 3,900 pounds or 1,770 kilograms.
As the aircraft gains altitude, you begin to appreciate its upper operational ceiling of 20,000 feet or 6,100 meters and a maximum cruise speed of approximately 165 knots. The ACH175 maintains impressive agility at higher speeds, making it ideal for a range of operations. Moreover, the fuel burn rate is approximately 500 pounds or 227 kilograms per hour. This translates to a maximum range of approximately 613 nautical miles or 1,135 kilometers.
9:34 - Purchase and Charter Price
The base purchase price for a new Airbus ACH175 is $17 million before options, and the charter price is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000 per hour. Naturally, prices will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees, and more.
    9:52 - Operating Cost
While the annual fixed cost is roughly $500,000 to $750,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $2,000 to $3,000.

It needs a coaxial main rotor to increase VNE and get rid of the wasted power used by the tail rotor. Best of luck!
