When the French troops arrived in St Domingue, Cap Français was the main city of the colony. Christophe who was a high ranking in the revolutionary army of Toussaint L'Ouverture was in charge of the city. General Leclerk the brother in-law of Napoleon Bonaparte asked Christophe to turn the city over to French control, and Christophe replied to the French General "I will turn the city over to you only after I burn it to the ground and reduce it to ashes and I will fight on the ashes".🇭🇹
He was born in Greneda but he arrived in St Domingue during his formative years. He was fully assimilated to the St Domingue culture therefore, he was fully Haitien. 🇭🇹
Why all the fight? Its the same people that were brought to Grenada from West Africa its the same people they brought to Haiti, besides, he still has many relatives in Grenada he was of Bambara origin from Mali
