Looks like you could make a big log cabin block, cut in half both ways and add plain blocks to expand. Piece the logs if you must but make just one cabin. This pattern does expand the use of "not enough" cabin blocks. Nice one!

Your tutorials are so helpful. Wondering if I can use 2 1/2 inch strips for log cabin and 5 inch squares or should I cut my material down. Really like this project.
Connie, you can certainly use different size strips and squares for this quilt. If you use 2.5" strips to make the log cabin, then the squares may have to measure 4.5" (unfinished) to fit the blocks. Just experiment and have fun!! Happy Quilting! Lori
