Hi i just signed up on ur site ...I have been struggling with song structure and arranging my own songs... and counting measures... would love to know if you could help me?
Extended minor chords have been THE most mind opening thing in guitar playing to me in the last couple of years. I stumbled over Japanese bands who use these excessively and it sounds so different and beautiful that I adapted it into my playing and I have the most creative in writing in years! Just awesome. Thanks for that video man, I still learned a couple of new things!
I have seen a few of your lessons and I think your content is brilliant,. I learned something new with these minor eleven chords, putting the diagrams on the screen is a big help, many thanks.
Thank you I was looking recently for something that could pair with Em11 and this was very helpful! Thank you for listening to requests and questions posted by us viewers! Really appreciate it!
I absolutely love your videos. You have the best 'chordal' lessons by far. I am very pragmatic and would like to see even more practical uses. Like where to use these chords? What are the best scale degrees to use these on? The ii? The iii? The vi? You discussed this briefly but would like to go in even more detail. What songs use these chords? Thank you Antoine. I love your channel. Please keep it up. We all appreciate you.
I'm not the greatest guitarist but a songwriter but your videos have shown me a few lovely chord shapes which I've used in some in some new songs ideas Thanks dude!
If anybody wants to know what the Brian Wilson/Carole King chord is , it’s a Minor7/11. Probably one of the best sounding chords in music and one you don’t really hear anymore but it was all over the airwaves thanks to what we now call Yatch Rock (but back then it was called Soft Rock). It’s also one of the easiest chords to play on a guitar. In fact, Standard Tuning without even touching the fretboard is Eminor7/11. Barring the first fret only and not touching anything else is Fminor7/11 and then the second fret is F#minor7/11 and so forth.
Great video, I knew nothing about these chords, being able to know and navigate the fretboard for solos and arpeggios would be a great lesson, exercises etc... Im in a rut myself, need to break out of it!
Guitarists call this chord a m11, but it's actually a m7 chord with the 11th ( 4th )added. A true minor11th chord also includes the 9th. But it is less tedious to call this chord a 'm11', rather than a 'm7add11' --or even 'm7sus4'
6:30, when you mention "super stretchy" chord, reminded me of "Every Breath You Take" , and also all riffs by Megadeth :D Nice video, I loved it, and these chord shapes!
Partly because of the ''Silent Single Coil System'' I have in my guitar, but mostly by stacking all of these tips as I share in this video: ua-cam.com/video/qAB9LSPpJFI/v-deo.html
nice! as-tu une leçon sur comment modifier des power chords en drop D pour leur rajouter des intervales mystérieux ou plus intéressant comme un minor11 ?
Great chord lesson. Love the sound of these chords. I have a hard time with some of the stretches with my pinky. ,it muffles out my other notes. Is there a technique or exercise to make them clearer or should I just move my thumb in different position on back of the guitar neck?
Yes, moving your thumb on the back of the neck can help! I have many different tips in this lesson (that is called 7 tips for people who have small hands. I am not assuming you have small hands at all, but some of those tips can help with this issue!): ua-cam.com/video/krUaYKNFwYA/v-deo.html

This makes me want to pick up my guitar and play with these chords first thing when I get home today. Thank you!
Ye get inspired!
It sounds really exotic and suspenseful with a lot of advanced color and harmonic density. It does lighten up the minor mood a lot too.
I think of you right away when I hear those minor 11 chords Antoine. Thank you for helping us all!

3 notes per string scales would be a great lesson. I've been told once I master them , I master my soloing all over the neck.

I love extended chords especially in a drop tuning like Drop A. You can get some Huge sounding chords that way.

steely dan uses this chord quite a bit on aja, specifically the beginning of josie, and the chorus of peg

That Aminor 11 chord has a bill frisell feel to it.

Isnt the Em11 chord same chord as the GMaj9 chord? only the emphasis of the root note is different?
thanks

How about letting us hear a jazz tune (one with few chords) with this beautiful concept?

Arpegios in the jazz style, DJango
wouldn't all open strings just make a min4 chord actually? cause it really sounds a different effect to me..?
melody is most important
Whats the difference between A minor 11 and A minor sus 4?
When the chord is suspended (sus), the 3rd of the chord is replaced by the 4th. With a minor 11 chord, the 3rd and the 4th are both in the chord.
Thank you.@@AntoineMichaudGuitar

my guitar is tuned to a minor 11 chord also, but not so dissonant. c# g# e f# b d#
Why did the musician get arrested for playing an Am11?
Because he put a D in A minor
It's not Em11. It's Em13
