I love this video! During my journey I have grown long, thick, and healthy locs, all while interlocking from the very beginning. This will hopefully dispel the many myths you hear about those of us who choose this method to maintain our locs.

What perfect timing! I went to another loctician at my shop, and 30 seconds into palm rolling my locs, she suggested that I interloc because my hair is soft (which is new to me)...but she correctly identified that my hair was unraveling faster than it could loc. I told her my concerns about thinning and wanting thicker locs, and she did the same method as you did on your mom...went through the loc twice with minimal tugging. I can already tell the difference. There isn't the stiffness that accompanies palm rolling, and after biking to work, my hair is still manageable. I'll be keeping close attention to the progression, but your mother's hair looks beautifully full!

I have been interlocking for the entire 8 months of my journey and I love it! I didn't really like the tool so I gave it away as a gift. I like my latch hook better for doing my own hair. The tugging was aggravating.

I guess one of the things I don't understand about interlocks is that once it grows out does it just look like knots in your hair or do they actually look like locs? I wish I can find someone or someone or something where they completely interlock their hair from start to finish and it's like three or four years later and it's never been palm rolled, I'd like to see that. I mean I aesthetically understand it but I just can't visualize what it looks like as your hair grows out do you not need to ever palm roll your hair ever again?
