I love this video! During my journey I have grown long, thick, and healthy locs, all while interlocking from the very beginning. This will hopefully dispel the many myths you hear about those of us who choose this method to maintain our locs.
What perfect timing! I went to another loctician at my shop, and 30 seconds into palm rolling my locs, she suggested that I interloc because my hair is soft (which is new to me)...but she correctly identified that my hair was unraveling faster than it could loc. I told her my concerns about thinning and wanting thicker locs, and she did the same method as you did on your mom...went through the loc twice with minimal tugging. I can already tell the difference. There isn't the stiffness that accompanies palm rolling, and after biking to work, my hair is still manageable. I'll be keeping close attention to the progression, but your mother's hair looks beautifully full!
You & your mom's hair look beautiful. I have interlocked my hair and others ( loc sizes, very small to large) exclusively for years with positive results. I think interlocking is a great option. Thanks for this video.
Ordering was super easy through their website! $13 and free shipping is unbelievable! I paid wayyy more for my other tools and this may be the best yet! Thanks! I love interlocking my hair!
I started my Loc journey on 8/12/18 and the loctician interlocked me. She said my hair texture needed it. I didn't ask any questions just trusted her. And my locs are doing great!
I have been interlocking for the entire 8 months of my journey and I love it! I didn't really like the tool so I gave it away as a gift. I like my latch hook better for doing my own hair. The tugging was aggravating.
Yep that's the type of tool I used with my first set of locs I started back in 2006. I interlocked for 2 years before switching to palm rolling for 10 years. My hair is 4b. This set of locs I'm not interlocking.
Omg! Had I know this tool existed, I would've copped years ago! I've been interlocking from the jump (5 years strong) with my sad paperclip tool and it takes forever! I'll definitely be getting a few of these
Great Minds Think Alike!!!! A latchhook gets tangled in my new growth, years ago I molded a paper clip and wrapped the ends with electrical tape; it looks just like that. When I have too much new growth I use my finger with my homemade tool.
Keisha why did I watch this video and ran to order the tool, sheesh thanks 🙄 lol!!! I’ve been loced for 5-1/2 years and I’m VERY physically active (spin class) you know how intense that is and I’m a MAJOR head sweater and I’ve always wanted to try interlocking but was scared. You gave me the courage to try it. Thank you and Merry Christmas
HD Rose thank you for your input, it’s much appreciated. I’ve been an avid spinner for over 10 years and the love are a newer addition to the routine but I’m definitely ready to try interlocking. I’m going to interlock for my next wash in January. Wish me luck:) oh and I’ll be using the 2 point rotation. I read that it gives thicker locs.

This video is very helpful sis. my latch hook just gets stuck in my hair now because my locks are thicker so I've been looking for something to make the process easier. Thanks!
I loved watching how quick and fast it was to interlock yalls hair? How many locks do you have? I use the O'locker It's shaped very similar I have over 500 locks and have a 3 point rotation. Takes forever lol but I love how this method.
How often do you retwist? I’ve been doing my sons hair for over a year now, he’s mixed and has very soft hair so it gets frizzy fast. I try to do it monthly, any tips would be appreciated!

A little late but glad I found this video. I am debating getting locs but I don't want sister locs, but admire the neatness of them. The thickness and length of your hair is amazing! Any one have recommendations for someone who wants to start locs that are thinner but not sister locs like yours? I am a head sweater and work out regularly
hey I interlockd my free form loc roots as the were too long. now all my locs are fused to each and everyone by bridges. bridges formed from those two side strands when u get from a loc root after interlocking. what to do?
Enter me! Ive been following you before I was loced which is 3 years now. I also interlock my 6 and 1 year olds locs this tool would be perfect for their little coils
Hello, I thought once you palm roll you have to stick at that method. Reason being, if you switch to another method like interlocking, it will spoil the look and feel of the loc? Have you noticed a change of your locs? Thank you.
Enter me! I greatly appreciate this video! I’ve been interlocking my Locs from the beginning and have tried lots of tools. I hope I can win this one! Love your channel
I just ordered this tool. I made one from a plastic stitching needle but I think this will be better. So will u be interlocking from now on or just doing it from time to time along with palm rolling? I will be interlocking the back of my hair and palm rolling the front for the look. Think that would cause issues later down the road?
Hey Keisha ,I’ve been Loc’d for 10 years never interlocked, I work out and I sweat a lot (uggg). So my retwist don’t last 2 weeks Should I try this or just leave it alone?
I have semi free form thick locs....will this work for me? I've always been scared to do this method because of thinning, but I'm a new mom now and I maintain my hair myself and need it to last.
Dawn Chong this was my first time doing it in years. It won’t be my primary form of maintenance so I’m not concerned about it altering my loc size or shape. I didn’t do it very tightly after all. Thanks for watching!
I guess one of the things I don't understand about interlocks is that once it grows out does it just look like knots in your hair or do they actually look like locs? I wish I can find someone or someone or something where they completely interlock their hair from start to finish and it's like three or four years later and it's never been palm rolled, I'd like to see that. I mean I aesthetically understand it but I just can't visualize what it looks like as your hair grows out do you not need to ever palm roll your hair ever again?
The owner of the salon I go to says she's always interlocked her hair. Earlier this week I finally got an up close look at them. They are cute and definitely look different from traditional locks. I'm a year and two months loc'd and plan to switch from palm rolling in January.

Tajaira Holmes doing it too often and too tightly can cause thinning. Plus if you’re not careful you can accidentally marry your loc into another one while interlocking.
