*I wanted to address some concerns that have been raised about this iceberg video* I've been reading the comments, and it sounds like some of you didn't feel like I did a great job explaining things. I'm sorry about that - I'm always looking for ways to improve, and I take your feedback seriously. For my newest iceberg, I did a lot more research to make sure I'm getting everything right. Unfortunately, I can't go back and change the old video, but I want you to know that I'm listening and learning. I'm sorry if some information was unclear or if some entries didn't get the attention they deserved. My goal is always to do better with each video, and I hope I can make up for it in the future. Thanks for your understanding!
Bots are employees does mean that their names are names of some employees. There is literally BOT Gabe, BOT Minh which are easy to connect. Illegal skins means duped skins. People used to trade skins, claim they're scammed, steam support gives them perfect copy of it back, and you end up with 2 same skins. People have done that mostly with howls and dragon lores.
For the bot names one, they are named after valve employees and CSGO creators. For example: Bot Gabe, referring to Gabe Newell. Bot Cliffe and Bot Minh, referring to the creators of CSGO, Jess Cliffe and Minh Lee. Bot Dave, referring to David Johnson, the creator of Dust, Dust 2, and Cobble. There are a few more too
the coaching bug was described quite poorly, for anyone wondering. For online matches a lot of coaches got a bug where their spectator camera got stuck in a position that wasn't intended for them to see (for example in the middle of mirage where they could get a view of the entirety of the mid area for the rest of the game) the coaches didnt report the bug to valve and some abused it the ones that abused it to give information they shouldnt have to their players got hit with bans depending on the severity of the abuse. i hope that makes sense :)
Man, I remember all of those topics. Like Tmartn and ProSyndicate gambling scandal, I "throw" power match fixing and of course...how could I forget about bully hunters. 2014-2018 CSGO was wild. Totally a different era in comparison to what it is today.
While KQLY did cheat back then, the jumpshot is not statistically impossible and wouldn't be too hard for someone to pull off if they've practiced it. 3kliks has a great video on it
Nice video! Btw region censorship could be used in the game back in the days by typing a command in the launch settings which removed ragdolls and replaced death animations with a surrendering one. I also remember that it was forced in Germany.
Yeah apart from those there are a few 'illegal/impossible' 1 of 1 skins, the nostar karambit is a famous example that isn't technically a dupe. I can also think of float values that should be impossible on some skins
The region censoring probably also refers to how the German version of CSGO had the enemies surrender instead of ragdolling. I can't remember if it's still a thing or not but I know the HECU in HL1 for Germany are robots and not humans
While the overwatch and anti cheat description was off, overwatch also isn't just used for the machine learning dataset. People convicted in OW do get permanently banned. So it is actually a big part of the anti cheat. VacNet is only used to collect the cases for overwatch. Then it get feedback from the decisions on the cases it submits. It doesn't actually ban people itself. VAC does ban people, but only based on cheats found running on the pc, not on player behaviour.
He also explained the coaching ban wrong (also coaches weren’t banned from tournaments) and KQLY wasn’t cheating in that clip. He really needs to get his facts straight for these types of videos.
I love how you said source 2 will probably never happen, as we all thought, yet here we are, three weeks later, and its pretty much confirmed it will happen.
9:52 may also be referring to how countries like Germany remove a lot or all of the violence/blood during gameplay. After killing an enemy, rather than them dying and falling to the ground, it'll play an animation of them surrendering and putting their hands up then lying on the ground.
Germany used to enforce this but they updated their law on video game censorship (some violent content is allowed now) and valve removed it from the game
@@InvagPrune I had heard about the low violence option, but didn't know this was a German thing. I had assumed region censorship reffered to the censored skulls on skins in china.
I love those CSGO 3D edits, I know the ins and outs of Blender, so figuring out how they do it has been pretty cool for me. Learning Blender is almost like learning a separate game engine.
The illegal skins refer to skins that are “broken”. There’s a karambit that has a wear rating of 0 and no pattern, meaning it’s flawless but boring. Stuff like that. The 3d edits were often done in unreal engine
The illegal skins refers to skins that have been removed from the game and are no longer obtainable through normal methods, the Howl is one of the skins, but there's been other skins that get removed for plagiarism or art theft that become valuable because they're removed from the game or changed
with regional censorship, it refers to the fact that in Perfect World (the chinese csgo) there are many details in maps changed or straight up removed (Soviet Union references on de_cache and de_train, some arabic spelling in mirage and dust2...) and also the blood decals are black instead of regular red.
7:46 this was not just a texture change, they replaced the objects. The wood door did more damage on wallbang, cuz it was, well, wood. They replaced with the metal objects which do less damage on wallbang
I will still watch it because I love icebergs but just by looking at it I understood how many time I spend in this game because I know almost everything here XD Being a valvefag is kind of obsession at this point.
For the region censorship, in Germany at one point when you got a kill the enemy player model would « surrender », put his hands on his head and lay on the floor, instead of dying
The cs classic mod is so much fun, you seem young so you probably don't remember 1.6 but it's basically what 1.6 would be like on the modern version of source it's so cool
illegal skins are probably duplicated skins from some point around 2014-2015 i believe, a lot of rare items such as Dlores and crimson web karambites or such were duplicated with a glitch.
forsaken alone did more damage to Indian gaming community and its reputation than the trash orgs and unskilled players who always loose to sea teams normally do.
8:21 oh shit i forgot which video i saw this from but basically there is a very legendary mapper who used to do useful guides and helped a lot of other mappers with minor stuff in their maps and this is usually a sign that is thrown in to honour him and thank him for some help on maps or previous work
2:37 you get to be a part of overwatch after reaching gold nova 1 or higher in csgo's rank system, it gets taken away from you if you lose the rank by any means at all including if you let your rank expire after a month of not playing competitive mp.
That's not the only requirement. You also need 350+hours in the game and 150 competitive wins. That being said the gold nova requirement is the only reason one might loose access to it.
11:30 I like this one. It's kinda funny to think about. I've played a lot of bot matches and its wholesome to think that I was playing with a bunch of valve employees on a lunch break or something. I dunno, maybe that's lame to say but idc.
The bully Hunter thing is a lot funnier than you made it out to be. The group was entirely made out of female esports players, many of which who have never played Counter-Strike before, and whenever they joined the game they ended up getting killed repeatedly without being able to get the target. The entire point of killing someone until they rage quit doesn't work when you're incapable of actually killing them. And on top of that they apparently raised a bunch of money which the event organizers just stole. And what's really funny is that this is actually inspired by a story from years prior. I don't know if it was Warcraft or some other MMO but in South Korea there was this kid who is obsessed with some game and his father wanted him to get a job, so the dad went and paid a bunch of guys to constantly attack him in game.
chiken was actually a day where the random user chiken seen in the photo would join your lobby and prevent you from queueing i remember chiken in my lobby
Region Cencorship is some kind of animation / cosmetics redesign to make the appearances or the signals less morbid and outrageous like in Chinese version, there are almost none skeletons skins were available, replaced by different finishing, and another good example was the German's "Low Violence Mode", which somewhat is kinda cringe in a wholesome way.
2:13 Valve DID say in a interview in 2017 that they're going to put source 2 on CSGO (They also mention Vacnet and Panorama which are already on the game)
i believe region censorship refers to the german version of cs where if you shoot someone in the head with a desert eagle instead of dying they just calmly surrender and kneel
5:25 I'm pretty sure KQLY just hit that shot normally, since jumping shots and the accuracy during the air time are server sided. (Doesn't mean he didn't cheat on other occasions, he is VAC banned after all)
as far as i've ever understood all he ever admitted to was cheating in matchmaking this was a LAN tournament where there was practically no way of him cheating
region censorship..i think its about open cases is not allowed in some countries because it's gambling.. and ragdoll physics replace with surrender animation.
For perfect world, I forget the actual meaning so I may be wrong but skulls are seen as unlucky in china. So I don’t think they’re banned as many people say, but heavily frowned upon to where people may avoid it

Also skins accidentally duped by Russian steam support from people faking scams
