To describe the pace at which I'd have ragequit the game after that floor 1 jaw worm as "rapid" would be a gargantuan understatement. Great stuff Baalor, one of the many incredibly cool runs in the world record to watch back.
This is what amazes me about baylor, he does these things that I just think are completely wrong and yet somehow ends up with the WR, fuckin stylin on the spire
I got angry just watching that. The absolute worst luck. That's why I stopped playing this game. Too many times I just got perfectly wrong draws and died.
Dude this was my favorite run of the series. I love that it went to almost dying on floor 1 to almost completely perfecting act 3. Took one hit in the entire act! Unreal.
That was masterful. I would have died in about 5 or 6 different spots. Baalor wasn't even that lucky either. He got pretty average stuff, save the Blade Dance synergy and an easy Heart fight. Everything else was incredibly hard and required great patience and skill. Well done.
Just discovered your channel. Was looking for tips to play silent ascension. Just leaving a big thank you here. You're explaining your pro decisions very well and also leave some beginners tips here and there.❤
This run is hilarious. Floor 1 Jaw worm almost outright killing the Silent, followed by waffle. Potion belt followed by no potion drops for the longest time, and then the first it drops is poison pot, followed by alchemize so the now incredibly high potion drop chance doesn’t matter much anyway. Multiple events to take your money when you have courier. And I’m not even halfway through the video.
You talk a lot about resolve, staying positive etc and the first fight here was such a good example of not letting the game get under your skin, I'd be ready to throw the run at that point!
Great run probably one of the best runs I have ever seen on Silent. Its also proof why we should never give up on any run no matter how bad it seems to be going.
i’m sure i watched this before at some point in the last year but i didn’t WATCH it. Honestly this is probably my favorite run of StS ever. the insane beginning and then just hammering away brought it home with ‘dupe madness’.
I had heard about this happening but never actually watched the run. Wanted to find the run but didn't know what it was called. Decided to type in "THE JAW WORM INCIDENT" and this was the first result. Rare UA-cam W
Just randomly thought of what the highest damage you could deal in one card was (not including searing blow and brilliance because just saying infinity isn't fun) You'd need to start with ironclad with a prismatic shard, Then you need any card or relic that gives strength, limit break+ to reach 999 strength, the divinity stance, pen nib, phantasmal killer, vulnerable with paper phrog, and finally the card that actually deals the damage: heavy blow+. This would deal (14+(999×5))×3×2×2×1.75 for a whopping total of 105189 damage. I spent a good few minutes thinking about this and couldn't find anything further, but I'll be happy to hear if anyone can improve this :)
Even dupe pot wraith form would have been more than enough to win. You're not seeing how many terrible suggestions chat has that Baalor has to actively ignore. Overall chat makes a run harder to win, not easier.
1:07:46 "blocking won't be easy here." * proceeds to almost fully block purely for discarding hand. * I know he meant the entire fight but it was just a funny timing of comment.
Bottled agony with gambling chip is a fun little interaction, albeit a little weaker numerically than the infamous chip + bag of prep combo. I don't know if this was explained out loud when you were doing it, but it also took me some time to catch on to the fact that the shiv discards with calculated gamble made it much easier to get wraith form + pellets off in the same turn with limited energy. Granted it was barely relevant to this run since bandages and after image generated most of your block, but it's a cheeky way to leverage something that's usually considered a "bad" idea.
That first fight really begs the question as to why Silent really needs to have one extra Strike and Defend in their starting deck as opposed to the others. Ironclad is able to heal at least 60% their HP for free each Act with no downside, and Watcher is easily the most aggressive and consistent of the 4 characters. Will Silent really be busted if 2 redundant cards are removed from their starting deck? That should've been changed long before they ever did buffs to Blade Dance or Accuracy.
Turns out that the extra strike and defend were added to the silent's deck specifically because she was just too strong with the smaller starting deck.

Is that into the breach I see? Hell yeah!
I'm totally down

Perhaps the biggest lesson to be learned here, never give up.
I got angry just watching that. The absolute worst luck. That's why I stopped playing this game. Too many times I just got perfectly wrong draws and died.
Man, never have I seen quite a bullying from Ja'Wurm quite like that before.
I would’ve just save scummed it lol
Yes, this is the run where he nearly dies to floor 1 Jaw Worm.
Cannot believe there was a waffle in the first shop. Bad luck evened out by good luck.
Matchup of the century: jaw worm versus waffle.
That was the fastest Waffle in all of human history. 😂
I've never seen him click on anything so fast.
Dude this was my favorite run of the series. I love that it went to almost dying on floor 1 to almost completely perfecting act 3. Took one hit in the entire act! Unreal.
That jaw worm probably so mad that even the heart of the spire couldn't do as much damage as it
Chat with the actual best line at the end is pretty amazing. As was act 1 of this run.
I think 99.9% of players would lose this run. Incredible stuff. This is what 10,000 hours of practice of Slay The Spire looks like.
That was masterful. I would have died in about 5 or 6 different spots. Baalor wasn't even that lucky either. He got pretty average stuff, save the Blade Dance synergy and an easy Heart fight. Everything else was incredibly hard and required great patience and skill. Well done.
All on 3 fucking energy. Man is goated
Baalor letting Stone Calendar get kills is so entertaining to me. It's like letting your kid last hit a boss so they feel like they're helping.
The variance in luck minute by minute on this run was WILD, holy crap

I have never seen anyone buy a waffle so fast. It hadn't even finished cooking when you ate it!

4:50 this is why I always ask Jaw worm to have mercy on me when I meet it on floor 1.
You talk a lot about resolve, staying positive etc and the first fight here was such a good example of not letting the game get under your skin, I'd be ready to throw the run at that point!
Another enjoyable run to watch while
making dinner. I love how to the point you are with decisions and don’t get overtly wordy.
Baalor dropping da wisdom at the beginning
no idea how he made it through the first fight with zero profanity. I would have said terrible things to that jaw worm.
That was the single most hilarious start you've had ever lol
Great run probably one of the best runs I have ever seen on Silent. Its also proof why we should never give up on any run no matter how bad it seems to be going.
Lol that turn 1 against the bronze automaton “power?” Got me 😂
The pun about the the Watcher and the Ironclad is my favorite so far 😂
Jaw worm spamming powerful and full strength attack so aggressively. I've never seen it skip its shield/attack move for that long
Might be my favorite run yet. The block generation via calculated gamble was very fun to watch.
i’m sure i watched this before at some point in the last year but i didn’t WATCH it. Honestly this is probably my favorite run of StS ever. the insane beginning and then just hammering away brought it home with ‘dupe madness’.

After two caltrops from power pots, I really wished he burst nightmare on wraith form and watch heart killing itself while only playing wraith forms.
Gotta be kidding me. Worst rng with jaw worm, just to immediately cancel it with the waffle 🤣
That's a rough Act 1. Jaw Worm does not mess around.
This was an awesome run. From the horrible jaw worm start to madness being mvp. Good watch
My god that 1st floor, welcome to the mfin spire

Dude who said dupe the madness on heart fight is actually a genius
indeed best move on that fight.
"Dupe the madness" genuinely ask the question of chat credits in win streaks. Half serious. It was a very clever move.
Even dupe pot wraith form would have been more than enough to win. You're not seeing how many terrible suggestions chat has that Baalor has to actively ignore. Overall chat makes a run harder to win, not easier.
That was the most entertaining run I ever saw!
I can't believe he defeated the jaw worm 😯
The infamous Jaw Worm fight!
Great stuff!! Loving the calculated play during the final gamut of the act 3 bosses onwards!!
Some exquisite plays here and there.. Good support from chat with the duplication potion+ madness play
Dude what was that jaw worm fight 😂?! Holy crap
Yet again an amazing ending. I was wondering, have you considered putting chat on screen? It can be nice for us VOD watchers to see what's being said.
I've heard him talk on stream about it, it's a visual thing he's really not a fan of. He gets the helpfulness, but. Dooooes not like it, iirc.
Another super entertaining run. No block cards no problem!
41:50
Why didn’t the flex pot wear off at the end of the turn?
Ahhhh the pellets! Crikey they’re are even more powerful than I thought
Calcualted gamble + tough bandages is the silent wet dream.
This has to be one of the luckiest and unluckiest first acts I’ve ever seen
gods strongest jaw worm holy crap.
Pretty rough start to this one. Very awesome job turning it around.
What would a 1 card deck with unceasing top of just grand finale look? Obviously it would die to heart, but could it make it there anyway?
1:07:46 "blocking won't be easy here." * proceeds to almost fully block purely for discarding hand. *
I know he meant the entire fight but it was just a funny timing of comment.
that fukcing floor 1 jaw worm
every single time
That floor 1 fight tho, very unlucky 😂
Bottled agony with gambling chip is a fun little interaction, albeit a little weaker numerically than the infamous chip + bag of prep combo.

probably the craziest act 1 i've seen lol
Fantastic run, an all timer
I don't think I've ever seen someone spend less time in a shop on A20, bar speed runners 😂
i cannot believe the bad luck on floor 1, id have reset for sure haha
Oh wow, that Jaw Worm is rough

How does he put the stickers on the map?
Gigachad jaw worm
That start. Holy
Title makes it seem like the streak is 5 wins lol. Maybe it should be “5/???”
That jaw worm was swoll
gambling chip and bottled calc gamble, the dream turn 1
What a nightmarish floor 1 that was. Worst possible RNG.
Wow.. cant believe this win
Soo awesome
This RNG is all over the place in this run.
Great resilience !
lmao jaw worm
shop event xDD
The first floor feel so awful
best bell i've ever seen
This is why you’re the best!
Jaw worm has ruined most of my silent runs
That start was horrible lmao. I definitely would've reset after that
What does that mean with that „Most a20 wins in a row“ -> beacause he does lost in the meantime
Means this is part of a streak where he won more consecutive A20Heart runs than anyone ever has while rotating between characters.
wdym?
These videos arent like brand new, theyre from a win streak he had recently where he beat the record for most A20 heart kills in a row
Yup seems like part of the 20 rotating a20 heart wins in a row he did recently. World record apparently. He is sharing them one at a time it seems.
