Theresa 😍🤤
Outstanding guitar and shorts by Theresa.
theresa made love to my ears on this one.
This is a bad recording. They are so good otherwise.
I used to sit on the train and weep to this song 🎧
Wow
Me too
Wow Jenny is pretty phenomenal here.
I soooo need to be in that crowd in the front...best feeling ever!!
That little unicorn that makes a brief appearance at about the 5:10 mark slays me.
Their musicianship is absolutely magical.
Seen them opening for DM (twice) at Hollywood bowl, fell in love with them.
Thxs ladies for uploads
Sheer brilliance!
I love these girls
Jenny Lee looks so cool playing bass
So good!
Jeez. Once again, a seemingly perfect Warpaint concert is undermined, if not outright ruined, by apparently, THE WORST sound people on the face of the Earth. Emily is right there, looking imposing, commanding, but enigmatic (a great VISUAL performance of the lead vocal part), but for God's sake, her AUDIO (get it, guys? That's kind of important...) sounds like she is miles away from the grounds, in her car, and delivering the vocal through her cell phone. Or a walkie-talkie.
I'm no sound engineer but especially in recent years Emily has a noticeably 'free' mic technique. She often moves far away from the mic and projects her voice to compensate. It's a part of how she inject emotion into the vocals and part of how she enhances the vocal doubling effect with Theresa. Here, especially when moving onto the outer stage she may be dealing with a breeze that washes her voice away a bit (I mean, it doesn't sound like a loose cable does it?). I don't think it matters greatly, the audience know the words, and it just adds to the uniqueness of this specific live performance.
Babes
Meravigliosa versione live
thank you!
Heh...
Watts Up' sukuQ ?
I want to detect something redeeming in this band that I can take away saying, yes, that's what they're about. But I can't. Their tones are just non existent. The songs are, to be polite, dull. What a shame.
Not everybody likes every band. I can't get into Rush. As a die hard Tool fan, I felt like I had to like Rush. I tried. I couldn't. Won't say a bad word though, I see quality there, it's just not for me. Unlike Dream Theater. They genuinely suck :P
Exactly, not everybody can like every band, you are looking for things you used to hear in bands you like but you can't, still warpaint is an amazing band, loved by tons of people, you should stop listening to them and problem solved :)
I think it's so cool that the responses by fans of a not super popular band to a fair, but critical post of the band is so calm and reasoned. I'm a U2 fan and U2 fans don't react like that. Oh, I've also been a Warpaint fan since May 2016.
They're a psychedelic groove band, with a touch of post rock, that happens to also have vocals. When they're on, as they are in this video, they're magic. Yeah, they should work on getting the vocals more in tune but apparently that's not as important to them as it is to some other people. They've got one of the best drummers in the history of rock (and I've been around since the 50s.) The bass player is a high-powered energy source. The guitar playing is impressive, and Teresa's leads have reached a whole new level lately. The vote on this video is 163 to 0 at the moment, nice to see the majority feelin' it.
I actually like their less than perfect vocals. There's a beauty in dissonance.
