I'm sure others have made this point ~ but what makes Warpaint so great is their genuine/tangible love for one another and making great + interesting music and entirely their own. No-one is a big ego-trip + the whole is soooo much stronger than the individual parts (all of them have talent- however, DIY/Punk artiness rules over virtuosity/Diva-dom). Yeah, there is a fashionable hip-LA vibe - but they pull it off + are the real deal! Really impressed seeing them live as well.
Everything works so amazingly well on this track. Both Emily and Theresa's vocals are so haunting and strong both in harmonies and when they do different parts, Jenny Lee's baselines are so grooving and you can hear them well in the mix and underneath is all Stella keeps the whole thing together with a perfectly timed beat and solid rhythmic foundation. Warpaint is a crazy on point band.

Found warpaint after refinding the murmurs on youtube after i looked up tracks from a mix cd i found as my first cd on my sony walkman, in the crawlspace of my friends new house as a kid. He passed away when he was 12 but the story continues, and now l'm listening to warpaint baby. Checkout the murmurs if you havent before. Country song, la di da, im a mess are good ones by them
