Still one of the most brilliant storytelling videos ever made.
Released in 1990 but 100% pure 1980's greatness!! Billy Rocks!!
Yeah. That's because 80's goes from 1981 to 1990, such as 90's goes from 1991 to 2000. The year 1980 is part of the 70's.
Mateus Matzenbacher, Do what? The 80s were from 1980 through 1989.
They started working on it in '88 and took til '90 to get it off the ground is what I heard. Because it's a freaking masterpiece and Billy had a motorcycle accident
most 80s backdrop music last into the early 90s
@@scspur5262 - He's talking about it like numbers, like we're all in accounting and then we die like nothing. But we talk about it like they're names, like they're friends, family, or even heroes :)
Also, year one doesn't matter anymore, so what's exactly the point they're trying to make?
The 90's was so cool being a teenager! Cradle of love was one of my favorite tunes when I was younger.
Never expected Billy to live to 2000s.... but in 2022, I pray he lives long enough until they can transfer us back into younger bodies... I need more Billy Idol punk music
❤️
He’s a grandpa now!!
Billy Idol was never punk music.
You realize those bodies will be synthetic, robots, as in, ABLE TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE SYSTEM and not the civilian, right? Use your God given brain for once in your miserable life and learn to recognize a trap when you see one. Sheesh. Smh.
@@glassonion5474 he was in the late 70s. Him and His Band Generation X were there in London right along side The Damned, Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers etc. He was a part of that scene. They broke up so he moved to New York City to try something new. To mix his punk style with new styles from America. The result? The first two Billy Idol albums. The Legendary era of Billy Idol.
This has been my favorite video for over 30 years. Leave it up to Billy Idol to have the most erotic rock video ever.
Yeah break that volume knob and get jiggy with it😊
props to whoever styled her for this video. at the time i thought her outfit was super cool without being on trend (same w her hair) and there’s no point in the thirty years since (gulp!) when it wouldn’t have looked cool. also love the beautiful direction and editing. many of the lines correspond w the action without seeming forced.
Hello, how are you doing? It is nice seeing you here.
One of my all time favorite music videos. This man is having a nice quiet evening and she just comes in and wrecks havoc..love it!
I wish I was that guy in the video! I would have seemed like the best Christmas present I ever got!
Almost reminds me of the Beastie Boys, "You Have A Right To Party" video.
@@batmandestroys1978 She was playing a underage 🔞 girl in here so unless you like them that young you best change your answer
the girl holding and wanting to play a cassette tape pretty much tells u how old this video is. awesome song, MTV used to play the video all the time, does this kind of music still even exist anymore? lord do i miss good music playing
No eyelash extension, no superdefined eyebrow, no breast implants, no nail extensions and the girl is beautiful and sensual all the same.
yes gota say back in our day we ddidnt need all this makeup shit they got now we knew how to make our lashes look good without fake ones
@@lauraalice9081 you all rocked it!

Nothing altered…sure about that.
Me at 16...... "THIS is gonna happen when I get my own place". Me at 26 …."Why aint THIS happening?!?!?". Me at 51 …. "You are gonna make that bed you just messed up, young lady!"
Damn skippy !!!
Me at 13: I need a cold shower! Me at 44: What... what kind of PC is that?

Hahaha!!
kevin baker, funniest 😂 guy in here!
Wow!! At 2:46 the girl throws her head back without spilling wine on the floor. Great performance!
This video was very good... one of the best ever made. Thank you Billy Idol :-)
Ohh woww..the way how Devon dance at 1:38 it's just simply rattles my brain..soo damn hot 🔥..and Billy Idol is a true legend 👏
Yeahhhh🤟
*When we were kids. "Our parents just* *don't understand this music"*
*Now as parents. "Kids just don't* *understand this music" ☺️*
*If you're 25 and under listening to this I* *salute you 🙌*
Nailed it. Thank you for that.
PERfect.
Omg stfu
I'm actually glad my parents introduced me to this music. :D
Except my parents raised me on Mtv and now I feel like a boomer.
I saw this video when I was a child, now as an adult at 45 years old I realize that the older man was on his PC while a beautiful young woman, already an adult, falls, looking to listen to his cassette. The 80s were the best. Betsy Lynn George 😍🤪
I used to watch this almost daily on MTV when it first came out. This was when I first started hearing about Idol. Thirty years, man. Good times.
Oh, and she was hot.
Betsy Lynn George from Ford City Pa. 😛
the CASSETTE tape brings back great memories- I remember my Mazda RX7 having one from the factory-
One of the most memorable “babe” videos of all time!
I remember this video came on every hour when MTV played music...was a kid... after school watching videos. I liked the song then still like it.
Billy Idol’s sexy smile/ sneer is EVERYTHING!!!!
I watched the premiere of this video on MTV. Ya, they used to play music.
How old are you? I watched the premier of Billy Idol's Rock the cradle of love on MTV ... I am that old... (I'm that old too) :)
I still wear my MTV T shirt because I remember when it was great!!! "I Want My MTV" !!!
I’ve not seen this video since 1991. Oh it takes me back.
Loved this as a teen and still to this day. It takes me right back to dancing in my bedroom ❤good times.
❤I have this CD and I am in love with this guy. This video is unique! I think Billy Idol is a good person as well. He’s a real person! Thanks so much!
Hate to say this, but "it SUCKS TO BE YOU, IF YOU MISSED THE 80'S!" It WAS the MOST FUN decade!😎💃🎉
Gotta be one of the most underrated rock and roll songs ever! And Devin is HOT!!!!.....MTV was the bomb...2021 kick it!
...love how Billy Idol pushes the likeness of Marilyn Monroe out of the frame! Priceless.....
I'm glad someone else noticed, that part always cracks me up. The way he just casually disposes her 😆
I remember the flashback of being a kid & watching this play on TV when it came out in the 80's and being mesmerized... I'll be 40 this year! wow
Enjoying it from Moscow. Greetings everyone ❤❤❤❤
Increiblemente Grandioso. Maravilloso, un excelente Album. Un maravilloso Videoclip. Grandioso Billy Idol. Por Siempre en mi Corazón. Saludos desde la Ciudad deMéxico.🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
This is still smoking hot in 2021!

Betsy Lynn George, who played Devin in this video, was paid $3,000.00 for her performance. And she is exceptionally hot in this.
At 46 years old, I can say this video played a HUGE role in mapping out my preferences in women and music for the rest of my life. This had an indelible impact on my psyche.
Yep. This and Aeroplane- RHCP
Same here, dude! So glad I grew up with this awesome music.
And what was that? I'm curious 😂
@@GeetaGalaway Aggressive women in spandex? I'm rather alpha, but like the challenge. Also, I've eclectic tastes in music, but my baseline is rock and roll.
2019 and still listening to Billy Idol! 👍👌
Me, too
yep same here
Same.
Think I first saw Billy live in about 1990.
Thing that really makes me feel old about this is "Can I play this tape?". Can you imagine that today -
"Uh, wtf is a tape?" :-)
Yes!
Yeah
One of Billy's best ever
Sitting in my Spider at night with the sunroof down and cruising through the city in 1990. That was the sound of the best days of my life. Thank you, Billy, for all the great music and the musical inspiration it gave me. It worked!
2025 and this song 🎶 still rocks
I’m 40 and my husband was 70! I would jam this song and he would come along and turn up the volume! Love you J ❤
@monicaaguilar1316 im sorry for your loss if you wanna talk we can i would actully like your opinion on something if you dont mind by the way this is a true gem of the 80s

Fantastic video, and directed by the legendary David Fincher.
@San Diego Yes. Fincher also directed Madonna's Vogue and Express Yourself
Oh man I looked at his IMDB and he did a crap load of music videos back in the 80s and 90s. Some real classics! Aerosmith, Steve Winwood, Sting, Paula Abdul....
