They can’t

They can't only tax paying permanently residents can get it. The Misconception is with cover California, where Illegal immigrants can apply and receive it.
Yes, and in that lady's mind the government is going through the streets offering social security for illegals 😂
In multiple states illegals can apply for and receive it, regardless of age - the issue is that SS is a federal program, and that money given to illegals comes out of the national "pot". Not so funny now, is it?

The first guy really just proved why we need MORE funding for the Department of Education
Why? Our children aren't receiving an education at all
@@Brian--0311 stop projecting
@@tbohn10 You're exactly who I'm talking about!
@Brian--0311 this can be for a number of reasons:
1. Teachers are underpaid or don't have benefits
2. Outdated learning materials/ topics
3. The constant censorship of "woke" topics like women's, other races' or LGBTQ's impacts on history and significance in today's society
4. Refusal to answer the question "what does this have to do with the real world?"
5. Poor or unsafe conditions inside or outside the school preventing students from being educated (risk of school shootings, bullying or discrimination, etc)
6. Lack of proper nutrition and sleep
7. School's inability to teach neurodivergent students or special needs students
8. Inaccessible schooling (unaffordable, too far away, etc)
9. Removal of classes deemed "unimportant" like art, language or music (which can be critical for the brain's development)
Take your pick, and there's likely a way that more funding for the Department of Education can assist in solving/ reducing the impact.
Colleges have been raising prices to an absurd amount (in USA). They abuse government aid and misuse the fundings. Spending more money to the Department of Education is NOT gonna fix anything because the money would not go to the students at all!

The first person said education isn’t within the purview of the federal government. States can have their own education departments, but why the federal govt? It’s not constitutionally prescribed, and it hasn’t been great value-for-money, historically.
The vast majority of funding for schools comes from state and local sources. Removing Federal funding for schools would force states and local governments to pay a bit more to cover the difference, but schools wouldn't be beholden to the one-size-fits-all rules from the Feds that has hurt education in the past.
@@i3d3we need an agency that can uphold federal court rulings and regulations on education. Along with setting a base line for the national curriculum. It also funds stuff like PBS which is famous for high quality useful shows like Wild Kratts, Daniel tiger or sesame Street. So that's why the department of education exists. States and even local governments still have a lot of power over the curriculum and programs for kids.
That first guy is the literal embodiment of thw word republican.

Reading a lot of comments from seemingly new folks around here who don’t know that the Department of Education refers to a part of the federal government, and your local State government. The FedGov has no constitutional basis to run such a department, and it costs way more than the value it provides. The US had world-class universities at a fraction of the cost before 1980 without any federal department of education.
We need less education, less social security, less driver seat. Who's the real aliens here?

Exactly. It's a misrepresentation that that is the point against it. It's about the illegal part.
@@acctsyswell the reason it is illegal is BECAUSE of things like them taking jobs and being a drain on the economy while not paying taxes. If them coming here did not hurt the economy or people, then there would be no reason to make it illegal.

I respect that the first guy was brave enough to name an entire department to do away with. Zach was right to call out that woman's aversion to immigration. Yes Americans need jobs, but there's a skill shortage caused by occupational licensing. What we need is a bunch of industry experts whose sole mission is to cut the bureaucracy out of occupational licensure. We need to streamline the process so it doesn't require such an intense investment of time & money. Then let in all the immigrants who can find an employer to sponsor them.
They need to be legal not illegal and we don't need to pay any illegal any money.
Illegal immigrants who also don’t have the licensing are not the solution to that problem dude. And some of that will disappear with the ending of the Chevron decision.
OP is a Dumb dog!
@@Spaceman0495 That's a bit of a non-sequitur (because it doesn't follow logically from streamlining occupational licensing) and a straw-man (because I never spoke in favor of illegal immigration).
But if you wanted to tell me you're a Republican without overtly saying it, mission accomplished.
@@OctagonalSquare _Illegal immigrants are illegal mainly because the employment visa sponsorship program is so complex and time consuming._ Look up how to get an EB Visa. It requires hundreds of dollars from the employer, a lengthy PERM process (which requires newspaper and online job ads to domestic US Americans), mailing documents to far away government addresses, months or years of wait times, and restrictive immigration quotas per country.
Instead of deporting millions of people, give them a path to permanent residence through employment sponsorship. That's liberty, that's ethical, and that's realistic.
The Chevron Deference is ambiguous as to its effect on illegal immigration.

It’s easy pickings to interview the most biased members of both parties.
I say we ditch social security, I'm not paying for it
Ok, are you going to step up and take care of the elderly?
I can answer, "NO"!
So these people who worked their whole lives to pay into this program, "suck it up now you get 0 money and that is better then the 1,000$ a month the elderly all ready get to pay for everything even food."
The difficult part is you absolutely bone someone by removing it. If it never existed, then that would be one thing. But because the people who paid into it need the current generation to pay them back, if you cancel it now you either make current generations pay into it to never receive the benefits later, or you cut off a retirement fund than thousands of elderly people are or plan to rely on soon. That’s the problem with social programs. They are easy to start but impossible to stop without harming people
Only if you're unemployed lol
@@Brian--0311brother do you plan to never retire
@@GROGstien I did a couple years ago. H8ed every minute of it. I'ma work till I di3 now. That is if my Awesome employer will allow me
Sure illegal immigrants “grow” the economy but that isn’t necessarily good for you or me. They get paid under the table, which is sustainable for them since they don’t pay income tax, insurance, and other bills. Wages naturally drop due to this, because they are competition that you can’t compete with. Btw, they are in competition with you as well for housing, and groceries, and goods. So yes, businesses can make tons of money paying illegals for $7 labor instead of paying you $25, and all you get out of the mix is no affordable housing, more taxes, higher cost of living, higher insurance deductible (imagine getting in a wreck with someone who doesn’t have insurance even a license), and yes the taxes that is used to support them comes from somewhere, to include social security.
This,
Why doesn't everyone understand that?
Ok first off many illegals pay social security under a false name which means they cant collect
They also frequently pay their taxes
According to ITEP’s estimates, which do not count federal taxes, undocumented immigrants paid $11.6
billion in state and local taxes in 2013. This includes:2
⋅ $7 billion in sales taxes,
⋅ $1.1 billion in income taxes, and
⋅ $3.6 billion in property taxes.
@@thatdamncrow9197 Notice how that income tax number is a fraction of the sales tax number? That's the complete opposite for citizens. Citizens will likely pay 10x more in income tax than in sales tax. What this tells us is that government is missing out on roughly $70 billion in income taxes. So it's fair to say that illegals don't pay taxes given that only an extreme minority of them are apparently paying income tax.
Wow... Your bias is showing buddy.
"We estimate that 59.4 percent of illegal immigrant households use one or more welfare programs. Compared to the U.S.-born, illegal-headed households use every program at statistically significant higher rates than the U.S.-born, except for SSI, TANF, and housing"
It's not a secret that the open border style policy of the current administration is extremely taxing on the economy. Even if you try an claim they're working, they've still beoken immigration law, broken the law against working without a work visa, and they dont have a social security number to pay into social securty ornpther taxes. The only tax they likely pay is a local state sales tax.
In the end, the current influx of illegal immigrants is a net burden on our economy and communites. I dont think any country or system is designed to accommodate an influx of that many undocumented individuals. It's not a magic fust solution to a stagnant economy, especially in a housing market like we have, increasing the demand for affordable housing will only drive the prices up further.
America love immigrants. Why can't we just agree to uphold immigration laws and receive them within our mean?
How exactly does an illegal immigrent gain access to a social program for us citizens? They don’t, and this is bs.
They contribute more than they take out. Thats empirically backed
@@tbohn10 What evidence do you have that illegal immigrants with no social security number pay taxes? I'll give you a hint....it's all anecdotal. The vast majority can't, don't want to, and don't pay taxes on money they're earning illegally. The most they do is pay sales tax when they buy stuff in the state their in

We could stop funding Ukraine….just sayin’. And I’m pretty sure no one would be too upset if we did away with subsidies for pharma and oil companies. And perhaps letting elected officials vote for their own pay raises and healthcare benefits should be the responsibility of taxpayers. In the old days the federal government was supposed to be responsible for three things. Military to defend the country, roads to get them around, and a postal service. Perhaps we should limit the government to those thee things again and see how that works.
Maybe you should cut your own ridiculous military spendings that aren’t being used for anything and not let Russia gain even more power. This isn’t just about Ukraine, Russia is a global threat

At least logically there's reasons for conservatives to want less funding for education.
2nd girl was correct outside of saying "social security". The government IS giving taxpayer money to illegals to live while they bus them over in droves. Even sanctuary cities are asking the gov to stop because supply is exceeding demand. Many of them are not working, just collecting taxpayer money and sending a good chunk back to their home country, so no, they are not growing the economy.

@kevinsumner9690 from what I've heard from literally everyone on the internet is that putin is either a fascist or communist, fascism is an ideology of "everything in the state, nothing outside of the state" and communism is the same. I agree with a point about Social Security
here’s a real issue and this is only one example we have competing ideologies not with parties, but with subjects in other words, we promote the idea of abortion yet in order for Social Security to continue to work despite how you may feel, we need a higher population and this higher population needs to be higher income because the vast majority of middle to upper class as well as the higher class pay the vast majority social Security. This by no means is a defense Social Security I’m not a fan. I think there are better ways that to this person‘s point we as Americans despite our differences need to get on the same page and agree on the things specifically non-competing ideas that help promote sustainability here in our country so we can invite all who wants a better their lives
