I'm in a cute little 1934 Bungalow that I'm working on bringing back to as close to original as possible. It has some serious spacing issues in the living room and kitchen, but I'm welcoming the challenge! It really lends itself well to eclectic quasi boho antiques, so it works for my personal style preferences.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us! I always look forward to your Sunday drop!

Our house is traditional and built in the 80's. It’s the first of our 6 homes over 30 years that isn’t brand new. Decorating has been a little different but I like the transitional style so most pieces work. Your videos help because of the classic style. Thanks!

I am so lucky to have moved into a classic Mediterranean Revival that seems to accept traditional pieces that have been collected over years. Like you, I feel that a stark difference between exterior and interior design styles feels extremely unsettling.

We are in a Mediterranean stucco home and I’ve enjoyed a more modern mediterranean look, nothing too ornate but fresh, cozy and updated. I’m not a fan of dark cabinets or colors so I’m keeping it lighter. Probably why I enjoy your style so much. I do have an amazing piece of furniture that dates back to the late 1800’s, was hand crafted by a dentist and was in a bar in San Francisco, I have it in a room that has vaulted ceilings because it needs the space. It has been fun designing around it.

I have a 90s two storey cottage with a high pitched roof and dormer windows. I’m trying to make the inside more timeless with white walls, etc. I bleached an orange timber buffet with a couple of small corbels and a flower carving and it’s a real feature piece as it has a light wash on it to tone down the yellow. I’ve been adding texture to vases and painting them this week and they’re awesome. Today I’m starting on some new table lamps and can’t wait to see the end result. Also did some baubles yesterday and love them.

Our style is maximalist vintage. Gallery walls and collections all about. It’s what we love. I realize the sleek is what is recommended lol not for us. Merry Christmas Kristen. The house Im currently re-doing and furnishing is a large 80's Brick and rough cedar Ranch Style, but its situated on an estate size water front property. The "beachy" theme is definitely out! Its situated among grand oaks on a natural bluff with the bay about 1,000 feet away. There is also a creek visible with gators laying on the bank at times and beautiful herons wading. Sometimes there is a small herd of deer that visit. The "timeless look" will be very much a factor with this house to try and combine the home's style, waterfront, other natural surroundings and interior.

you are SOOOO right on. We always decorate with things that are 'timeless' as you call them (and that is where the higher dollar items go). we may tweak here and there for something up to date (that is not expensive), but always see them as easily changeable. Our beds, blankets, sofas, etc. are all more 'traditional' and flexible in a way that they fit with everything. Trendy goes away too fast, and (I find) can waste your money if you are not careful. I do wish, though that I had taken your advice and used more jute rugs..... :-)

Great timeless tips! This has always been what I do in interior design. It's the most cost effective too!
We are making our home in a new build modern tudor, steep pitched roof, creamy white brick, wood double door, and black windows. The inside is painted all white, wide plank French oak, neutral furniture and empty spaces awaiting decor and pieces.....😂. I'd say the inside is a modern traditonal charm. It takes me quite a while to decorate, but that's part of the fun! Merry 1st Christmas in your new home!

The sun room is my favorite room in your house. The office is a close second. You have a great design aesthetic which I bear towards. I’m just a stupid 60 year old guy and basically a Pottery Barn person (back in the day) but now you can get PB knockoffs at Walmart and Target. It’s amazing how they stepped up their game. I’m downsizing to a small home and I will be using (stealing) a few of your ideas but on a smaller scale. If you were in the Philadelphia area I would hire you. LOL!!!!! Keep up the good work. I’m glad you mentioned to keep the style of your home (exterior) to kind of match with the inside!
We wanted a home 🏡 that had more of a natural aesthetics (think fern siding, natural stone columns, wood tones, etc.) and the person selling our lot/home we were going to build with said it would be fine if the inside was totally different (he was referring to something totally not even close to the natural aesthetics 😂 (but then again, he was filling in for the sales person on maternity leave)
I decided to follow my desire to keep the inside the same tones as to not be so jarring when you walked in if it was the opposite aesthetics; I can’t do bright colors as it overwhelms my senses anyways. 🤎🤍🩶
