Definitely worth the trip down for the day! Very nicely done. Doesn't look like I missed a huge amount. I passed the Ilford light engine move just before Haughley Junction but didn't see what it was - looked like a 90 though. I guess you missed it.
Thanks, you didn't miss much, the 47 going down and back was most of it. The 90 on the light engine move was 90008 which I missed due to being set up the wrong way and RTT not working (again!).
Bravo; a marathon indeed. Hugely enjoyable at what is a special place for me. One question, though. Why does the nuclear flask train, presumably en route to Sizewell, enter from the south on the up main line through Platform 2?
Haha! I've had a couple of people say that now! I'd wanted to do a 12 hour stay either there or at Colchester for a while and get nearly everything that came along (I say nearly as I didn't video all of the 90 sets). It ends up being a lot more productive than a 12 hour sit out back home. That said though, I'd like to try one on the Western line when I return...
uhegbu Thank you! I quite enjoyed this outing but was rather worn out by the time I got back to Colchester. Getting back to the UK is definitely on the list of things I want to do soon
Some excellent filming there, and gosh 12 hours!, it's almost the same amount of time as a flight from London to America!
+Hornbylad200 Thanks! It was a long and tiring day that's for sure, though looking back I'd say it was entirely worth it!
The Golden Age of Abellio Greater Anglia as a Rail Operator, so much variety!
Was glad to get over there when I did, was a very enjoyable three months.
