How did you tune it to 1200?

Rms × ohm load then square root of that number. Plug a multimeter into the speaker wires/terminals and set the mm to ac voltage. Then play a 40hz test tone at the highest volume youre gonna play at. Use the number you got before and turn up the gain on the amp until it matches the voltage. Make sure everything on the head unit is set to 0. I tuned my subwoofer at -5 on the head unit with a 40hz test tone.

That will make 1200 watts being sent to your subs not factoring ohm rise
