Every figure skater you see at the olympics started as a child stumbling backwards and forwards. Nobody goes out on the ice and immediately does an axel jump. It comes with time, patience and lots of practice

Yes and they stumbled, fell & felt embarrassed as beginners. That can also happen as professionals, either warming up or competing. It's all part of skating: staying focused, allowing yourself to be human, learning from mistakes & not giving up!😊 I'd like to see the critics strap on a pair of skates (rentals that is, they're the worst, LOL) & take a few laps, NO a few steps onto the ice! And when they discover how hard it is to maintain their balance, they'll be applauding everything any beginner skater can do! 🎉🎉

Hey!! As a beginner skater, I found it scary at first! But the first thing I did was start pushing my self a little from the wall, then skate really slowly towards the wall again! Try doing that a few times, and once u get the hang of it u can practice going longer! Remember don’t look down while skating forwards that’s what makes u loose balance!! Try going slow but close to the wall, without holding onto it!! It comes with time and I believe u can do it!! It’s also about to confidence! U need to tell urself and force urself to think u can do it, and force urself to try something new! It’s okay if u fall, everyone do, the fall just makes it easier to know what to do/don’t next time u try it! U can do it!! BELIVE in yourself !!❤
You ARE a figure skater you can do spins, jumps, and sequences being able to do the best stuff does make you a better figure skater but most people can barely spin on two feet on ice so that just proves that you are a figure skater even if you aren’t the best of the best

Figure skating takes damn long time. I'm on the rink for 4 month now I can only do 1/2 , or 1 rotation and I'm learning my axel right now. I want to do doubles but I'm scared as f 😅
as an avid reader and writer I say the same thing. no one can gatekeep hobbies and you are free to call yourself a reader or a writer even if you only do it 2 months out of the year and uncommitted
It’s like dance! Just cuz these little 2 year olds are only in pre ballet doesn’t make them any less of a dancer. If they go to class and participate then they are a dancer. It’s why I’ve made it to advanced over the past 12 years, bc when I was a little 3 year old in my first class I decided I loved it and that I was a dancer. ❤❤
I hope people realise ice dancing figure skaters are a thing too, they skate just as beautifully they just focus more on sequences than jumps and spins❤ I started off doing ice dance but i craved the jumps and spins so now im 20 learning how to land my first axel

I hate how people think beguinners arnt figure skaters especially if they are adults! Olympic skaters skate daily for hours, AND skating isn’t cheap. You have to pay for gas, ice time and a coach to coach you. An Olympic coach is gunna be pretty expensive. I don’t have a coach, I teach myself. I used to and have been stuck at the same level for six years now but it came to me that I can teach myself I just need to work hard and pay attention, finally starting to get somewhere! Your an amazing skater and have seen how much progress you have made! Amazing job!❤
