Thank you so much for this video. My grandparents lived in Paterson in 1950s-1990s. My Nonno was a shoemaker who worked in the basement of Stanchevers. Pietro Rizzo. My Nonna Pietrina Vitale was a seamstress in the factories making wedding dresses. She had an old Singer sewing machine in her home and I remember sitting with her while she worked at home in addition to working in the factories. My parents got married at St Joes. So many fond memories of going there for Sunday dinners, walks to get lemon ice with Nonno…I would love to connect with your museum one day soon.
I cried and cried through this video for what we had, such good memories. Oh how I want to go back to my roots. I knew many of these families mentioned, father Mark was my pastor at St Gerard’s when I was growing up, he was and is my inspiration . Nancy carlozzi Garrity was my teacher at JFK. Thank you for this. Please make more videos.
My father had one of the three Italian clubs on Cianci street in the 60’s. It was next to the Roma Sports club closest to Passaic street. Joes corner store was also next to him and Lazzaras bakery was across the street. Jerry Lazzara was best friends with my dad. I remember the pool table in the back room and the card tables up front . I remember making espresso and cappuccino for the “ members” as a little kid. 😉.

His Father was a avid motorcycle rider. I used to marvel at him working on his bike.
