"Mackerel Sky" Beautifies Vermont Skies

Among the prettiest of clouds is altocumulus, these little cotton ball puffs of clouds that create patterns in the sky. It's called a mackerel sky because of its rippling appearance resembling fish scales. A classic example of this took place recently over St. Albans Vermont.
